This was honestly a case of "it's not you, it's me" because I just could not connect to the characters. I ended up DNFing about 50% in. I found the heroine to be very one dimensional and not likable (just my own opinion, I totally get it if other readers love her), and I felt like their first meeting and interactions were very rushed and unbelievable. I won't be putting this review on Goodreads only because I don't want to bring down the overall rating when this was a case of a story and characters just not clicking with me and not being what I expected going into this.

3 A Curious Attraction Stars
* * * Spoiler Free
This had all the elements to do a strong woman and loving single dad. I was all in until certain decisions were made that were hard to accept. The major apart of the story worked and I was coasting along with the love of the typical Ske Jordan style.

This book!!!!

First let me say I was stoked to get a review copy from Netgalley.

Ben and KT were on FIRE! 🔥 Their chemistry was off the hook and I was swept into their story of learning to love differently and to overcome the fears that were keeping them apart.

I loved how Ben was willing to learn a whole new way of living and to let go of how he thought things were supposed to be so that he and his girls could be in KT's world. And what a world!!!!

This was a great story and I will definitely be reading more by this author!

This was the second book in this series and I loved it.
The three friends are back and this time it is KT's turn to fall in love.
KT is the marine mechanic, working hard to fix all the boats in the harbor. On her off time she loves nothing more than to rent a sailboat and coast from place to place meeting new people, seeing old friends, and experiencing the world. Her dream is to own her own sailboat and live on it traveling the world. A minor injury brings her to the local ER where she meets Ben, an ER doctor widowed with three little girls. Even though sparks fly, and passion isn't a problem, how can a wanderlust like KT have a future with a doctor and three girls who need roots and stability?
I loved all the characters in these stories, and even the little girls had great personalities. Can't wait for Chloe's story.
I received an advance copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

Back to Wildfire lake

I LOVE a strong female lead; she is self-confident, unfiltered, unapologetic, and sassy while working in a male-dominated field. KT or Kat is fiercely independent, headstrong, and living life her way without commitments! Her way of life is working for her and in walks Dr. Delicious (love this moniker). Her first interaction with the troubled Violet made my heart melt. We are privy to the growth of both characters as they work through their own issues and those of a couple. The epilog exceeded my expectations and I will wait not so patiently for the next book. Ms. Jordan’s writing style is quite easy to get lost in. While this is the second book in the series, it does stand alone.

Thank you to NetGalley and Cygnet Books for the advanced copy for me to review.

I was excited to read KT’s story. After having to go to the emergency room to get stitches, the dr to help her is Ben. A father of three girls. He isn’t her typical type. Which is basically a one night stand. They both feel a connection to each other, but both want different things. I loved Ben. He is such a good guy and father. And KT was so good with his girls. While reading I was rooting for them to be able to find a way to be with each other. Know I’m excited to read Chloe’s story!

Going Under is the second book in the Wildfire Lake series. This is a very sweet and enjoyable read, with a definite Insta-love vibe. I think this story needed more time and dialogue between the characters to fully develop a relationship that was believable. I think the beginning lacked the back story to really give the secondary characters meaning to the H/h, as well as give the reader a feel for the richness of Wildfire Lake that was found in the first book of the series, In Too Deep.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC in exchange for an honest review. #GoingUnder #NetGalley #InTooDeep #SkyeJordan

DO I HEARD WELL? DID YOU SAY AN INDEPENDENT, CONFIDENT AND STRONG HEROINE? I'M IN! SIGN ME UP!

I LOVED THIS BOOK. I loved both characters, they were extraordinary and even though this book isn't THAT long, you can actually see their development, so points to the author for easily accomplishing something that others on 300+ pages can't.

Well, definitely a different take on a romance for me. I loved the premise of the book.

These two people trying to figure out the path of a relationship that is foreign for both was fantastic. It almost seemed as if the book wasn't long enough for me and I wanted more story!

I liked this book, it was cute, funny at times and heart warming. It was family oriented, strong lead female character and the author did a great job describing atmosphere.
KT, was a strong female character who was confident, well astablished both financial and in her career, and giving her in a career that is usually male dominated, which I have not read in many books, was really refreshing and fun to see. The scenes where she is helping Ben fix or repair things around house was great.
I did not like the character of Ben, he came off as boring and lacking in any feeling except when it came to the sexual scenes. I think the authors was trying to flip the stereotype of male and female role but I think Ben was too passive. It felt unrealistic when the youngest child wondered off and he showed no worry or anger during the whole ordeal and let KT handle the whole situation. Most of the story seemed to surround KT and the girls. I got that the author was trying to establish her relationship with the girls, as well as one with Ben, but their relationship was not developed enough.
The author did a great job with Description and atmosphere, it felt like you were there and could picture landscape and the people. The way she described the marina, I could picture the whole coast and all the boats lined up.
The internal dialogue was an issue for me. There was to much of it and was taking a little to long to get to the point. I would have liked to see more dialogue between main characters and interactions between them. It would have made the insta love feel real.
Overall it was a cute, quick read, easy to follow and would recommend.
I received this ebook early, via netgalley, my review is my own honest opinion.

This was a fairly quick read. Almost too quick given the responsibilities Ben has and monumental life decision he makes at the end of the story.

I really liked and admired Kat. She was a strong, confident woman who knew what she wanted and wasn’t ashamed of it. But I was a bit leery about her solo dive in the prologue. My understanding was that solo diving was considered too dangerous by most diving organizations.

Ben was a swoony H especially with his interactions with his daughters. Neither were prepared for the other and the resulting upheaval in their lives, but both learned that what was doesn’t have to be. However their relationship spans only one month before Ben makes a life altering decision. That seemed too rushed to me. Other than the fight Ben and Kat have about what he/she wanted, there wasn’t much discussion about a possible compromise. Mild steam. I’m interested in reading Chloe’s story.

I think I loved this one even more than the first. KT is fiery and independent. Ben is sexy and sweet. Watching KT grow as a character makes the story so much better. There is humor, steamy times, romance, and just the right amount of angst. I really loved the way the epilogue was done. The girls made me smile a lot. Especially the toilet scene. I could picture it in my head. There is a lot to love about this series. I can't wait for more.

After being around sailing all her life, KT has her future planned out. Sell her current project that she shares with her 2 best friends, buy her dream boat and sail to places she never been. That’s until an accident leads her to meet Dr Ben and his 3 daughters.

I really liked this book. It was a really quick read for me as I couldn’t put it down. Skye Jordan creates a strong leading lady in a male dominated world. You are taken on a rollercoaster of emotions. I loved the connection of not just the 2 main characters but also of KT and the 3 mischievous little girls. This is the second book in the Wildfire Lake series, I am definitely going back and reading the first.

Thank you to Cygnet books for the advanced copy of this book.

I really enjoyed the first book in the series and because the women friendship was so strong and beautiful made, I was looking forward to this second book in the series.
Same beautiful aesthetics set up with many great characters and a very good mix of personalities, the story is definitely not exactly what I was expecting.
I liked the witty banter and smart retort, all the challenging moments and the steamy romance scenes but, personally, I don’t enjoy an age gap romance, more so when kids are involved. Just a personal feeling.
The story overall is very interesting and great and many people will enjoy it.

Going Under has witty banter, hot chemistry, amazing characters, sweet moments, angst, and heartache.
The thing is that it fizzled out and suddenly at almost 80% the story lost its way so the characters that you liked lost their luster.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book received from the publisher via NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

KT is a marine engineer participating in an investment opportunity with her two best friends, creating a marina. She’s temporarily stepped away from her love of sailing around the world to help get the marina going, but hopes to be back in the ocean in a few months. KT is only interested in hookups and Ben—the doctor who helps stitch her back up after a minor accident—is delicious enough to be what she is looking for but he’s more complicated than expected. He is a single dad and is the commitment type. Despite her lack of interest in a relationship, she can’t help but be drawn to him and she can’t help but be smitten with his daughters. The question is, will they or won’t they? And if they do, what happens when it's time for her to leave?

Going Under is a light read that is as direct as it’s female lead KT/Kat. Like KT, what you see is what you get; there are no twists and turns. I found the book to be refreshing exactly for this reason. Both KT and Ben lay out their cards in the beginning so miscommunication is not a problem. There is no unnecessary angst; there is no surprise third party. Any problem that exists is clearly between Ben and KT, and it’s mostly because feelings are complicated. I greatly enjoyed the book and I liked the chemistry between Ben and KT. I liked Ben almost as much as I loved KT. He allows KT to lead and is an ideal father. I’m also sucker for kids so Ben was reeling me in before he even hooked KT. I was immediately engaged as soon as I began reading and the book was fast-paced. I couldn’t believe it when already hit the epilogue. I really enjoyed Skye Jordan’s writing style and look forward to picking up more books from her.

Going Under was a quick read. Although this is book 2, I read it as a stand alone and had no trouble. Full of heat, this cute story was entertaining.

I received a complimentary copy of Going Under in exchange for an honest review. This is a second book in the Wildfire Series, which can easily be read as a standalone. I read the first book in the series which set the bar pretty high, but book 2, Going Under did not disappoint.

I loved everything about this book. KT is an amazingly strong character that isn't afraid to live independently and does what she thinks is best for her. KT is a free spirit and happily travels around in boats, meeting new people, and taking random jobs as a marine engineer without any commitments to anyone but herself, until she meets Dr. Ben.

Dr. Ben is everything KT is not. He is a widower with three girls, a steady career as a doctor, and a large home on a lake. He needs stability for his family, which didn't align with KT and her lifestyle.

Besides the amazing chemistry between KT and Ben, and her immediate love for Ben's children, I did not see how these two could make a relationship work. It was fun working through their obstacles until they found something that worked.

I would absolutely recommend this series including Book 1, In Too Deep. I can't wait to read about Chloe in the next book. Please hurry:-)

4.5 Dr Delicious Stars
I loved the first book in this series, and book 2 was equally as enjoyable. It sees mechanic KT getting her heartstrings pulled by 3 adorable little girls and their widowed father Ben, or Dr Delicious, as the 3 best friends have nicknamed him. Still living in her boat in the marina KT is doing her second favourite thing, working on boat engines. Her favourite thing is sailing, travelling the seas and visiting new countries. She is most definitely a free spirit, which is the exact opposite of widow Ben, who has put down roots in a new house with his 3 young daughters. They might be opposite in most ways, but they definitely work together in the bedroom, perfectly. They also share their love of his children, it will they ever be able to reach a happy medium together? What a sweet, angst free read, with wonderful characters and an ending that I could never have predicted. A perfect holiday read. I received an advanced copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley. This is my honest review.

This is the second book in a series of I assume 3 novels. You don’t really need to read the first novel to enjoy this one though.
I really enjoyed the first story but I felt less involved with this one. The story was still great to read and kept me hooked throughout but I did not enjoy the heroine’s character as much as Laiyla’s in the first book. Kat’s change in character as the book moved forward was too rapid for me and whilst the chemistry between her and Ben was well written I didn’t feel that she would have changed her views so quickly? Maybe if the book had been over a longer time period it may have felt more realistic? I really enjoyed the epilogue.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for allowing me to read a preview copy of this book and really look forward to Chloe’s story.
