I'm on a low-carb diet and often delve into KETO, so this has been cool and helpful to pick up and get some new ideas from. There are some really tasty options here, and some creative meals to be had in the realm of a ketogenic diet, hopefully more people buy this and see that there's more than just a pile of cheese and meat.

Thanks for the advanced copy.

A great book with some brilliant recipes, I like the way it's laid out.

Very informative and helpful in guiding me through going Keto. I loved all her tips and tricks to being able to go Keto while not breaking the bank.

This book was interesting.. definitely not one like I’ve seen before. I love that it tries to make the ketogenic diet more accessible/sustainable to people by letting them know that dirty keto is still keto.

I personally started the keto diet by eating all the bacon and all the cheeses and consuming some of the diet sodas. I ultimately learned as I keto’d that I had to clean up my diet. When you know better, you do better.

I love that the author also shows you how to stretch a dollar and tells you how you can do keto on a budget. She gives helpful tips in a few recipes on how to do so. The only thing I don’t care for in this book are the names of the recipe themselves. I know she’s being creative but it’s hard to know if you want to make an ‘ATM PIZZA CRUST’ without having to look at the ingredients.

There are multiple introductions to this book. It's nice to get to know the author, but I felt like I could've probably done with 1 Intro rather than like, 3. Also, the author repetitively reminds us about her 140-pound weight loss (which she's kept off for 7 years and counting!) pretty much every other paragraph. What she did was amazing - and I understand why she's plugging it, it's "proof" that her recipes work, right? But at a certain point, enough is enough. Similarly, we are constantly reminded that these recipes won't break the bank and they're made of "REAL FOOD" (trying to differentiate her recipes from other diets perhaps??). But by the end of the intro(s) I felt like I'd been beaten over the head because all of this had all been repeated so many times. I can see why this "chatty" method of writing could be appealing to some people who are looking for some hand-holding on their journey to weight loss. The writing has a lot of capitalizations, so I can "hear" the author talking to me, and it feels like she's having a conversation with me rather than writing a book in a more formal tone. I'm reading this for informative purposes rather than life-changing purposes, so maybe I'd feel supported and inspired rather than annoyed if I were reading it as a self-help book (because I'm 2 chapters in and it feels more like that than a cookbook so far).

Ok, we're on page 54 (Chapter 4) and the recipes have now begun! There's a little method for giving "awards" to different recipes to identify them as good for picky eaters and almost-vegetarian/vegan but they aren't very visually appealing, nor do the pictures relate to what their meaning is so it's hard for me to remember what they mean, especially because the explanations were introduced like...20 pages before the recipes actually began. Not functional. The author has nice tips and tricks included next to each recipe, but the formatting looks like a template out of Microsoft Powerpoint (you can tell from the cover that graphic design is going to be lacking in this book, but worth pointing out I think). The pictures themselves are fine-good.

On a final, personal note, I didn't realize that keto was SO nut heavy. As someone with a peanut/tree-nut allergy, my takeaway from this book is that I could never survive off keto because basically every recipe has almond milk or almond flour in it. I'm not sure how accurate this actually is, because my fiance used to do keto and as far as I know he wasn't cooking with almond flour/milk constantly, so not sure what's up with that, but it made pretty much every recipe a non-starter for me.

Going to give this one a 2/5 for the reasons listed above, but I can definitely see how others might rate this higher (different mindset, no nut allergy). Thank you to NetGalley and Adams Media for the e-ARC in exchange for my honest review.

I loved Stephanie Laska's original Dirty, Lazy, Keto Cookbook, and I love the Dirt Cheap version just as much. This book includes lots of tips on how to make the keto diet work for you. This version of the cookbook is for those people who are on a budget. Excellent!

Eye catching cover.... you had me at lazy and cheap. Keto is a diet based on eating high fat foods and this author gives it to you on the cheap and dirty side. I found this to a fantastic budget based keto friendly recipe guide. Kudos to a great book!

What did I like? I base my decision on how many recipes I would love to try... this looks like a phenomenal recipe book. I bookmarked a ton of pages from breakfast all the way to drinks. Keto may be a diet but it sure isn’t a hardship to eat that way. I loved it. The book is simplistic and not only dies it give you the cost of the meal but a ton of information for every recipe.

Would I recommend or buy? I would love a copy just for the simplicity. I’m pretty lazy when it comes to cooking and thoughts of saving money is a plus too. The only negative is I need more pictures... but the style of the book was attractive. Also some of the recipe titles were a little crazy... just saying. Still looks like a fabulous book.

I received a copy to read and offer an opinion. Four stars! Loved it.

First off - I love Stephanie Laska. Her no nonsense approach to weight loss and Keto works for me. Second off - I'm cheap. I like how this book lays out costs and is very realistic. No crazy, hard to find ingredients that will end up hidden in the depths of your cabinet after you try one recipe. Last - I'm a full time working mother. When I get home I don't want to do anything complicated. The recipes in this book are straight forward and easy to make.

I can almost guarantee I'll buy a physical copy of this book for my collection.

This is a perfect book for anyone looking for cheap but still effective ways to eat healthy and tasty.
I never was on KETO diet, but I was aware of it being expensive and complicated. This book completely changed my mind. I loved author's intro about her struggles with weight and overall explanations what is KETO and tips and tricks she shared from her personal experience.
I definitely marked some recipes to try them out.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the copy of this book in exchange for an honest opinion.

I really enjoyed the beginning of this book- all the tips, lists, encouragement to not make Keto unnecessarily difficult. I just wish that alternatives to allergens (tree nuts, for example) were mentioned. I'm currently doing keto, and am deathly allergic to tree nuts, and would love to make a chaffle.

I have been doing the low-carb way of eating for the last couple of years so I feel pretty well-versed in the area of foods to eat. This cookbook was amazing because it takes simple foods that most people have in their refrigerators and/or cabinets & uses them to make appetizing and appealing foods. My only problem I had with the book was that I wish each recipe had a picture with it but the pictures that were included were awesome! Loved that each recipe had nutritional information including Net Carb count with the recipe!! I also loved the variety of recipes included in the book!

Thank you to the publisher, Adams Media & Net Galley for the opportunity to read an advanced copy of this book. This is my honest and unbiased review! GREAT & USEFUL low-carb cookboo!

I did not like this cookbook’s layout at all. While the recipes are certainly doable, I cringed every time I came into eye contact with the titles of each recipe name. I also found the author’s preface to be unrealistic. To have sustained yourself on an imbalanced diet for over seven years, and adhering to strict and controlling dietary ideas for the foreseeable future, made me think this was unhealthy and not the right author/book for me, though it may suit others who feel they can hold tight to a limited diet. One persons diet may not work for another person’s body.

I received an ARC from the author and publisher in exchange for an honest review.

Thank you for the opportunity to review this cookbook and compilation of keto diet materials. As someone who needs to eat low carb and is relatively new to this lifestyle change, I was drawn to the idea of cheap, simple recipes to add to my weekly meals.

Some recipes stood out to me more than others. To be honest, I thought there was a surprising lack of pictures of the dishes, which really help me visualize if I can pull off what the meal is supposed to become. I feel like if there was less personal story and more food discussion, that would really be helpful for people like me who are trying to cook things for the first time.

Also, I found the recipe names to be a little annoying after a while. I get the point, but I don’t think it’s funny. It would be more helpful if they were descriptive rather than themed along the cheap / no money theme, which idk just doesn’t come across to me as something the reader would want to constantly be reminded of. It’s no shame in needing affordable meals — that is the sole appeal of this book: healthy and accessible. You don’t need $50 utensils and expensive cuts. But constantly being like OK, you want some CHEAPSKATE CHEDDAR CHICKEN BITES, ya poor broke thing, you?! is really.... just annoying.

I wanted to see what people eat on the keto diet because I didn’t know. This book was very explanatory but I just wasn’t in to it.

Perfect for someone interested in starting Keto. The little symbol key is great and the recipes look good. I like that fact that these recipes really are cheap to try, they don’t just claim to be.

I read this book and can honestly say got nothing out of it. The first few chapters were rambling and I could honestly say not one of the recipes attracted my interest

This was a fun cookbook with recipes that, while I haven't tried yet, look amazing. I will be looking forward to buying a physical copy of the book so I can test out the recipes more.

The recipes look good and I really like that nutrition info is clearly placed in a sidebar. I also like that the book is designed for regular folks including ones who don't have access to pricier kinds f meat and produce because too many keto cookbooks making finding grass-fed organic meats and organic vegetables sound more important than the diet.

There are two faults with the book. First o don't like the cutesy names for the recipes, they are repetitive and tell you nothing about the recipe. I found myself asking questions like "What does a garage sale have to do with this?" and "Why is this a payday dish?"

The other fault is that while the nutrition info is large, the ingredients are in the same size type as the intro and instructions, although in bold. This makes t hard to read and hard to use.

I have and love the other Dirty Lazy Keto books so I was super excited for this one too! While I am sure the print version is probably great, the Kindle version is a mess! There is no separation between recipes, which makes it hard to read and pretty impossible to use to try recipes. Many of the pictures won't show up as well. I did like the pictures that do show up and I enjoy the cost breakdown. A lot of recipes sounded good with a nice variety but the Kindle version really needs a tune up!

What I loved about this cook book: the author used it successfully to lose her own weight, The neat symbols implying it’s for “picky eaters”, “makes extra” etc...(although seeing those logos in the contents BEFORE the code was confusing at first), and the triangle breakdown in the beginning was so helpful to me because I’m a visual learning and that really made it clear to me. The recipes are delicious and easy to follow. Highly recommend to anyone who’s starting Keto.
