Amanda Flowers never disappoints and I had a lot of fun in reading this first book in a new cozy series.
It's enjoyable and engrossing, the quirky characters are well thought and the solid mystery kept me guessing.
I can't wait to read the next installment.
Highly recommended.
Many thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for this ARC, all opinions are mine

First book in new series.

Shiloh Bellamy leaves her job to return home and save the family farm. She wants to turn it into a sustainable organic operation that her father is against. When the investor she signed with is found dead at the farmers market, everyone in town suspects her father.

To save her father and the farm she needs to find the killer before all her hard work vanishes before it even gets started.

There seems to be many suspects with grudges against the dead man so it’s not going to be easy to find the killer, but Shiloh with some help tracks them down.

Can’t wait for the next book in this series.

Amanda Flower is one of my favorite cozy mystery authors, and she did not disappoint me with this book. I loved the farm setting and the laid back surroundings. The main character was fun and relatable. I was really invested in her story. I loved her animal companion, Huckleberry. The book was well paced, and the mystery was very well written!

Farm to Trouble is the debut of a new mystery series by Amanda Flower. This author has long been a favorite of mine. Her series are always so much fun. This book was no different. Shiloh Bellamy had left the family farm when she was younger to go to California and become a producer. She comes back because of her father’s health and immediately becomes a murder suspect. I really like this author because she always throws in enough red herrings that I can’t always guess who the murderer is. The scenes with Shiloh and Hazel were so sweet. I can totally see a future with Shiloh, Quinn, and Hazel. I also love the concept of this series. My family loves farmer’s market and farm to table. I am eagerly looking forward to the next book in the series. Thank you to Netgalley and Poisoned Pen Press for the copy. All opinions expressed are my own.

I liked this! My first book by Amanda Flowers and the first book in a new series. Good characters, small town vibes, tragic back stories, and a puzzling mystery made for an enjoyable read. I would read the next in the series!

This book has a good premise. Shiloh Bellamy leaves her movie producer job in LA when her father calls and asks for her help with the family farm. She seeks an invester to help take the farm in a new direction but does not realize her mistake until she sees the state the farm is in. Nothing is as it seems and when her invester is murdered and she and her father are the prime suspects Shiloh is determened to solve the case herself. I usually enjoy Amand Flower's books and have read many of her other series so I was looking forward to a new book from this author. Unfortunatly this book was dissapointing for me. The first problem I had was the need for some major editing with this book. The grammatical errors were so many and often that it kept taking me out of the story. I am also used to a more fleshed out and well written book from this author that the errors were even more glaringly obvious. This book just felt very rushed to me.

5 Stars: 5/5 Star Rating

Wow! Amanda Flower is one of my favorite authors, and her writing just gets better and better with each new book I read! With Shiloh Bellamy's family farm is danger of going under, and with today's pandemic, it is certainly relatable. As many businesses have been forced to go out of business, I'm sure Shiloh could definitely relate; but unfortunately for Shiloh and her father, murder is added to the mix. Shiloh plans to fight to save the family farm, but now she also has to fight to clear her and her father's name.

I highly recommend this book and can't wait for book #2 in the series to be released.
I was given a digital ARC of this book by netgalley and the publishers. Hoping you all will have a great day!

Amanda Flower is one of my favorite cozy authors. I have read all her series and enjoyed each series and her great writing talent for creating fascinating charcters and places that readers love to visit. Thank you to the publisher and to Net Galley for the opportunity for review of this charming cozy debut series. My review opinions are my own.

The author introduces our protagnist Shiloh who has returned home to the family farm and her ailing Father to revitalize the old farm into a wonderful sustainable organic produce operation. It has been her dream for years to manage the farm and grow organic produce. When she returns home the conditions of the farm is dire. Her Father is not well and the farm is on the verge of bankruptcy. She is not warmly welcomed by the locals and her efforts to help the farm are not popular.

I like Shiloh right away as a independent savvy protagnist . She stands up for herself amid suspicion being a newcomer to the area. As she puts her plans in motion a murder occurs with a nemesis of her Fathers. Shiloh must put her farming plans on hold to investigate and save her Father. and herself as they are both prime suspects due to a business deal with the victim. Clues and suspects abound as her Father proves to be quite a curmudgeon and the town will not help her but deems her guilty . When evidence proves her Father and or her may be guilty it takes all Shiloh's abilities to save them and find the true suspect. With her trusty pug Huckleberry by her side she is not deterred and works tirelessly to save her Father and her farm by proving whodunit. I was pleasingly surprised by the revel and loved the sleuth .

Thank you to the author for another wonderful series. I look forward to more stories of Shiloh as she progresses with her organic farm and solving murders. A very enjoyable read that swept me away to this wonderful idyllic farm. I look forward to the second in series.

First in a new series we meet Shiloh Bellamy who is returning home to take over running her families farm. Shiloh left home years ago and hasn't looked back since, returning home means leaving a successful job behind. Her fathers health is failing so she hopes by returning the two can make peace with one another and look toward the future. Shiloh takes on an investor knowing with all the changes she plans to instill will be costly, what she hadn't realized was just how bad the farm was doing. To make matters worse her father hates her investor and tells her.she needs to fix it. When said investor turns up dead the police are not only looking at Shiloh as a main suspect but her father as well. Shiloh doesn't feel she can trust the police to look beyond her father and herself.so she is determined to figure out who the killer is on her own. It doesn't help that she doesn't receive any help from her family at all. Follow along and see if Shiloh can figure out the clues to who the killer is or will things make a turn for the worse?

A fantastic brand new cozy mystery series to absolutely delight and entertain you! Coming home can be hard for anyone, but coming home to find the farm in shambles, distrustful town folk who now view you as an outsider and a dead body at your feet is more than most people can endure! Shiloh, a strong young women who is a main character that you can really connect with, must hurry to figure out the mystery before she or someone she loves goes to jail for a crime they didn't commit...or did they??? A pug named Huckleberry is Shiloh's main side kick so the pet lovers can rejoice as he's a snorting delight! I am absolutely looking forward to the next book in this new series and can't wait to see what happens in the future!

Shiloh has packed in her career, home and life and returned home to help her father after 15 years. She has plans to breathe new life into the farm, but this will require an influx of cash. She thought she had a deal for a partnership of a kind, but quickly discovers she may have made a deal with the devil. And when she discovers the dead body of her benefactor, she and her father quickly rise to the top of the suspect list. This is the first in a new series. I enjoyed the characters, as Shiloh reestablishes old friendships, and tries to find a way to help her father and his failing farm...a father that seems more alienated from her than even some of the townspeople. And of course I loved her city dog trying to adapt to country life! Disclosure: I am voluntarily reviewing this book and all opinions are strictly my own.

Amanda Flower does it again with the debut of another excellent series. Moving from the Amish setting to the Michigan heartland, the story focuses on Shiloh Bellamy who has returned home after 15 years as a producer in Hollywood. Although her father's illness is cited as the main reason, she came home to save the family farm and hopefully to turn it to an organic farm. Unfortunately her sole investor turns out to be money hungry, corrupt...and dead. Since she was the one to find him, she goes to the top of the suspect list. I will be looking forward to Shiloh's next story and visiting again with the strong set of characters as she works to get the farm back on its feet. The book was really 4 and a hslf stars.

I love usually love cozy mysteries, but I think the author forgot the "cozy" in this one. Christ on a cracker, why was every single character so damn mean to the heroine? Like, over the top mean. Even her own damn father. Who frankly deserved to lose his damn farm for not being a responsible adult and paying his f-ing taxes! And to rip her a new one for finding an investor who turns out is shady. How was she supposed to know that living in Los Angeles when her father wouldn't even talk to her about any of it??!!

Seriously people, this book pissed me off SO much! 😂

Farm to Trouble by Amanda Flower is the first book in A Farm to Table Mystery series. It contains Amanda Flower’s engaging writing style that makes the story easy to read. The author took the time to develop the characters and establish the setting. Shiloh Bellamy left Cherry Glen, Michigan fifteen years ago after the death of her fiancé, Logan. Her father, Sully injured his back and has asked Shiloh to return to help with the family farm. She quits her job, sells her home, and cashes in her 401K. Unfortunately, her father had sizeable debts which took all of Shiloh’s funds. She now needs an investor if she is to restore the farm and make it a success as an organic farm. Unfortunately, Shiloh is not privy to the local gossip and picks the wrong man to invest in the venture. When the investor ends up dead, Shiloh along with her father are prime suspects. Shiloh talks to various people in the town trying to get information to help her solve the murder. I hope we see more active investigating in future books along with action. There were little things that pointed at the killers’ identity. There is a secondary mystery involving money that Grandma Bellamy saved and hid away for Shiloh. She needs to figure out the clues if she wants to find it and save the farm. I like that we get to know Shiloh, her father, her cousin, various friends of Shiloh’s, and some of the townspeople. I enjoyed the descriptions of the Cherry Glen and the farm. Huckleberry, Shiloh’s pug dog, is a show stealer. He is such a cutie. Other scene stealers are Esmerelda the cat and Hazel, Quinn Killian’s eleven-year-old daughter. I have a feeling there will be a romance blooming between Quinn and Shiloh in the future. I thought the author captured the small town feel especially with the people’s attitudes. This was a cute story that I enjoyed reading. I look forward to the next A Farm to Table Mystery. Farm to Trouble is a charming cozy mystery with gossip galore, an insatiable investor, a high-strung hound named Huckleberry, tasty cherry treats, a cute convertible, and a mystifying treasure quest.

Shiloh has returned home to Michigan to help her dad with the ailing farm with the help of an investor. What she didn't expect was to find the investor dead and her dad the main suspect. Can Shiloh save both her dad and the farm?

I finished Farm to Trouble at 4 am. Since then I have been trying to find a way to spin my full review positively. I have loved everything I've read by Amanda Flower until now.

Negatives
1. The narrator of the audiobook was definitely not for me. Too monotone. I had to stop listening.
2. Shiloh's dad's attitude towards her was horrible. So critical of everything. It was hard to read.
3. A lot of background information.

Positives
1. The last 25% of the book was great.
2. A secondary mystery was introduced that runs into the second book.
3. Enjoyed learning about bird migration and the dangers of wind farms.

Overall rating 3.5 out of 5 stars

I will for sure try the second book. My issues with the book are mine. You may find this is the best cozy mystery you've read and I hope you do.

I received a complimentary copy from the publisher, Poisoned Pen Press, through NetGalley. All opinions expressed in the above review are entirely my own.

I enjoyed the premise, but the coziness just wasn’t there for me and the whole story just kind of fell flat. I wanted to like the main character more than I did. Thank you to Netgalley and Poisoned Press for allowing me to review this book.

I did not take into account any uncorrected proofreading errors in my review, but still have to comment that there there were so many obviously wrong words substituted that it made for a difficult reading experience.

Farm to Trouble by Amanda Flower is the first in a new series featuring Shiloh Bellamy, a Hollywood producer who moves back home to help her father save the family farm. After being gone for more than twenty years she must confront difficult memories as well as difficult people.
Shiloh dreams of sustainable farming and a farm to table restaurant, neither of which seems to make her father happy. Things go from bad to worse for Shiloh when she discovers a dead body, and is under suspicion for committing murder.
The storyline is a good cozy mystery full of disagreeable characters, a possible romance, and a delightful pug. It sets the tone for future books in the series.
Thank you to NetGalley and the author for this ARC of Farm to Trouble.

Shiloh Bellamy was a successful producer in Hollywood but when her father asked for her help on the family farm in Michigan, she chucks it all and heads back to her roots. Thinking that she can revitalize the farm by going organic, she signs a deal with a local developer not knowing his unscrupulous ways. When he is found murdered shortly after her return, she and her father are prime suspects. Shiloh needs to write a new script identifying the true murderer.

I liked the premise of the series but thought that the story dragged a bit at the beginning and was somewhat repetitive of some details as the story unfolded.

I love this author's books so I know this series will get better.

Farm to Trouble by Amanda Flower is first in the new series, Farm to Table Mysteries.
Shiloh and her pug sidekick, Huckleberry, have returned to Michigan from LA to help her father on his farm. She is bringing big plans but has a small wallet Her father has given her free rein, so she finds an investor. Unfortunately, he's the most hated man in town that has been buying up all the property for a wind farm. Shiloh's been back less then twenty four hours when she finds the investor, murdered at the farmers market. She goes to the top of the suspect list, her father second. Shiloh knows in order to avoid jail, she is going to find the killer herself.
This easy to read Cozy has plenty of suspects and plot twists that has you guessing to the end. There are likeable characters with a back story of young Shiloh. There is humor and a hint of romance.
