This is a fantastic book to discuss various important people in black history including past and current struggles for justice. Even though it is an ABC book, I would not recommend for primary aged kids as it wordy and would be harder for them to understand. This is perfect for 3rd grade and up.

I really enjoyed this book. Although I am a white woman, I am trying to bring up my kids in a world where diversity is the norm. It is hard to do in a very white state, so I figured books from all situations is the best way I can do this. I expected to to be focused more on more details about events or people, but I enjoyed the format that it was.
