This was a very emotional story dealing with Chloe picking up the pieces after the death of her partner. This gave me a lump in my throat on various occasions too. All in all a very good book.

This book was sad , emotional and thought provoking . I found it very hard to connect to Chloe which is why I couldnt say I loved this book. It was very slow paced.

A lovely story of getting over the loss of a loved one. This really pulled at my heartstrings. A must read!

Imagine someone who has just realized about falling in love with someone and suddenly that person vanishes.....poof! Out of your life forever because he has left the world.
Hayele has done a wonderful job in touching all tge aspects of societal reaction on the loss of someone whom you have just met. While tge protagonist has to carry on her life, she is contemplating her relationship before and after the demise of her love. A very heart touching story told in a contemporary way.

Please note that this book is not for me - I have read the book, However I had to DNF and because i do not like to give negative reviews I will not review this book fully - there is no specific reason for not liking this book. I found it a struggle to read and did not enjoy trying to force myself to read this book.

I enjoyed reading this book, the story was well told and evoked the feelings of pain that Chloe was feeling. The self discovery in this story was real and the story expertly told

This was a touching and honest story. We follow Chloe, who is grieving the loss of her partner, Jack. She’s left wondering what the future would’ve held for them.
Everyone griefs in different ways, and I found it to be very special to look at the way Chloe does. It really broke my heart at times.
I didn’t really have to cry while reading this book, but I was touched by it.
Hayley Doyle has done an amazing job portraying the grief of Chloe and everyone who was close to Jack.

Heartbreaking, yet full of love. This is how I feel about Love, Almost. They were the perfect couple, yet life had other plans. It took me just a few chapters to get caught up in the story and characters, but then I was hooked. The characters were well-developed, and what a wonderful story of grief and love. Would definitely recommend!

This is what The Two Lives of Lydia Bird was trying to be, without the weird drug addiction.

An honest, raw, heartfelt depiction of grief. This book touches on the struggle of grieving when everyone expects you to not.

Chloe and Jack are just at the beginning of their relationship. Chloe has upped sticks and moved from Liverpool to London just to be with Jack, and everything looks like he could be ‘the one’! That is until, five months into their relationship, Jack is killed in a tragic accident. Chloe realises that she didn’t know much about Jack at all and was surprised his parents didn’t know about her, leaving her wondering if their relationship was really as serious as she saw it?

I was initially drawn to this book by its eye-catching cover! After reading it, looking back at the cover you realise the significance of the birds and the white feather! Chloe was a lovely character, and you couldn’t help but feel sorry for her. She’d given everything up to be with Jack and then she was left all alone, in a place where she didn’t really know anyone. Her family and friends’ attitude to Jack’s death was awful and rather than being there and supporting Chloe, they couldn’t understand how she could be grieving so much for someone who she only knew for five minutes! I really liked the part of the story where we follow Chloe on her travels and the idea of her carrying on with their list of future plans alone was interesting and really brave of her!

Whilst it seems like it may be quite a sad book, it’s not! Yes, Chloe grieves for her loss throughout most of the book, but there are parts which are fun, uplifting and heart-warming. It does have moments in the book where the story slows up, but overall, it was an enjoyable read with some likeable characters and great locations! I loved the ending when she discovers what the picture really means and thought that was a perfect ending to a story of loss, grief and learning how to move on. Would recommend.

Whenever I read a book that's themed around the grieving process, I always reflect on how unique the process is for everyone whom experiences it. And to say that this book has a unique perspective on Chloe's grief is an understatement but I feel it was also an important perspective that needed to be portrayed.

Chloe and Jack were together for 5 months before he died. Chloe's family and friends don't empathise with Chloe throughout her grief, stating 'it was only 5 months' 'you hardly knew him'. The relationship that Chloe has with Jack is a very subjective experience that only Chloe will ever be able to understand.

At first, I found this book a bit of a slow burner, not fully understanding where the story was going. But when I got to around 50/60% of the way through, it started to develop such a meaning to me. Who is anyone else to dictate how someone should grieve? Or if they are 'entitled' to grieve? Not only is Chloe grieving the loss of her partner, she is also grieving the loss of being able to accomplish so many things that she wanted to do with the man she loves.

I really empathised with Chloe. I loved how her character developed throughout the book and how we followed her through the difficult times after Jack's death. As much as I wish there was just that little bit more context at the end to see where Chloe's journey goes with a certain someone, I think it ended on a lovely note.

Always been a fan of romantic fiction. And this book delivers without disappointing. Dive into this amazing book for an exciting story.

Love love loved it. It’s very rare to find a book that’s equally heart breaking as it is heart warming. Chloes and Jacks story really makes you question your own life and how time is not guaranteed. The start of the book is just so abrupt that I had no idea where the book would go from there, but I loved how Chloe found herself through her personal journey. I reckon I love this book.

I felt really sorry for the main character. She hadn't known Jack long and no-one knew.about her. She'd just moved in with him when he was tragically killed. She decided to live their life for the both of them- a heartwarming read about dealing with grief.

A heartbreaking read. We follow Chloe’s journey of loss and grief as her boyfriend Jack has passed away. She decides to complete a list she made with Jack. As she ticks off the items on the list she is also on a journey of self discovery. There was so much hope in this book and it gave me ALL the feels!

Love, Almost tells the story of Chloe and Jack. Soon after their relationship begins, Chloe moves into Jack's flat with him. In a tragic accident, Jack is hit by a car and killed, leaving Chloe to try and pick up the pieces of her life once again. She is then left with the difficult task of having to tell people who she was to Jack, people such as his parents.
This was such an incredibly moving story that really reeled me in from the start. Chloe was such a lovable character, and I found myself wanting to give her the biggest of hugs throughout this story as she had to face so many difficult situations.
A definite must read!

This is a book about grief and moving on after losing your soulmate but i just couldn't connect with the story. It feels like it should have shown more of Jack and Chloe before he died. The families were just awful.
