I have tried more than once to get into the book and have failed because I have trouble believing that the FBI would allow Atlee Pine to take off with another employee to find a twin missing for 30 years. I tried again a little while ago and came away with the same feeling and even though I have read and loved other books by this author and am eager to read one in a new series that I recently read...this is a DNF and not for me story.

I’m a David Baldacci junkie like many of you who enjoy a good thriller. The problem is that his books can be hit-or-miss. Fortunately, this one was a hit. The plot was intricate and the author’s idea to team up the principal characters from three of his series (Atlee Pine, John Puller, and Will Robie) was brilliant. 4 stars.

I jumped into the Attlee Pine series with this story, I could tell I was missing some background, but I was still able to follow along. The story was action packed and entertaining. A great read for fans of crime fiction.

I will circle back and read the first two Atlee Pine books and the John Puller series.

Thank you David Baldacci, Grand Central Publishing and Netgalley for the ARC. #Daylight #NetGalley

I was so excited to see this as a NetGalley preview copy, as I have read the first two books. As a fellow tall lady, this is so fun to read = someone who looks like you. I know that's not the real reason most of you will love this book, but fun fact! A coworker suggested this series, and I am so glad she did. If you want to have a series that you'll be adding pieces to the puzzle with each book, something to look forward to publication date, this book is for you! I enjoy reading her journey. I do have one side note, the audio book is two voices, but the lady has to read all the fluff writing parts which is weird since the male voice only reads the male dialogue. I get that the book is told from a lady's perspective, but the stilted back and forth of her and him reading isn't as enjoyable.

I just reviewed Daylight by David Baldacci. #Daylight #NetGalley. Interesting book and concept. I am starting to feel that many of these books are fatigue related as the story line and plot spins almost the same as the others.

I started this and realized I needed to read the previous two of the series to have a full understanding of what was going on. I have read many of this authors books and this is the first series I struggled to finish. The dialogue is hackneyed and unrealistic, the behaviors of the FBI agent ridiculous and having a secretary tag along enough to make me scoff out loud. This is one of our best authors but this is not his best work.
I am in the minority by other reviews I have seen so you may enjoy this!

I began in the middle with Book 3. I thought I could pick it up from here, but I found myself a bit out of touch with the characters and their history with each other. That being said, the story iteself about Atlee and her search for her sister... great! Lots of plot twists and turns... I love that! Atlee stumbles on more than she bargained for. I was disappointed not to have a full resolution on the sister, but after everything discovered to date... maybe that's a book 4 kind of deal. I liked getting to know the heroine--she's strong and I like her. I think starting at the beginning of the series would fill in some blanks and get the reader ready for the next installment. Talented author and great story!

Daylight is the third book in David Baldacci’s Atlee Pine Series. I hadnt read the previous books in the series and this did come as a setback in my reading. I would strongly recommend to start from the beginning.

An action-packed novel with Atlee and Puller who end up into a network of crime, Atlee is searching for clues about her sister, and Puller needs her help . But they both become targets.
Baldacci is a wonderful storyteller and in addition to a compelling storyline, Overall a fast paced read.

A fun, standard David Baldacci offering.
I haven't read the previous novels in the Atlee Pine series but you definitely get the gist of it in this book.
I had a few engaging hours with this one, however I wouldn't put it down as a very memorable offering.

Daylight by David Baldacci is the third book in the Atlee Pine series. FBI agent Atlee is on a quest to locate her twin sister Mercy who was abducted three decades ago, during a home invasion. Atlee was seriously injured and her sister was kidnapped. Atlee doesn't know if Mercy is dead or alive, but she is determined to solve the mystery that has haunted her for years.
Atlee is on sabbatical from the FBI and traveling with her close friend Carol Blum when they arrive in Trenton, New Jersey to confront a man who may have information about this kidnapping. When Atlee pulls up in front of the home of Ito Vincenzo and she walks into the middle of surveillance of this man's home by the United States Army. Vincenzo is suspected of running a drug ring on a military base. This investigation is being led by Army Criminal Investigator John Puller: another character that Baldacci has created with his own series. John and Altee decide to combine their investigations: John’s that has global consequences and Altee to seek the answers to this nightmare that she has endured for over thirty years.
Thank you, NetGalley for this ARC.

This is the third book in the Atlee Pine series, where Atlee finally finds out what happened to her twin sister Mercy. While giving it her last shot to find Mercy, Atlee stumbles onto a complex investigation that involves some high ranking politicos. She hooks up with CID agent John Puller, who is investigating the same people Atlee is trying to question about her sister. Puller has his own Baldacci series and I like how these two characters are brought together in this book to solve this mystery and crime. Working together, Pine and Puller uncover a gigantic cover-up and find themselves crossing paths with a threatening killer.

As I said above, this is the third book in the series, and although the crime is a standalone, the back story continues. You could read this book as a standalone, but I don't recommend it. The other books are so good, you would want to read them from the beginning. This is an action packed story where there are several bodies, several villains and more than one motive, money being the main one. I enjoyed the characters in this one, both Atlee and Puller are likable heroes. Puller's brother Robert and Atlee's Assistant Carol Blum also play important roles in this story and put their lives on the line as well. Baldacci sure knows how to write an action packed thriller that will keep you turning the pages long after you should have put your book aside to do other things. I thought this was going to be the last in this series, but it ends on a cliffhanger, so now, I have to wait, impatiently, for the next Atlee Pine book.

David Baldacci is a well-established and enjoyable author. Daylight is the next installment in the Atlee Pine series and unfortunately, does not live up to Baldacci’s reputation of skill. The story is tired and comes across as a retread of his other work. The only truly original aspect to the story are the character names. Agent with a messed up family history and a missing or dead sibling, government conspiracies that make all agents untrustworthy. It is old and tired and not only has been done to death, it has been done by Baldacci previously. This book was a disappointment. Felt like he was following a formula and just phoning it in.
Horrible. And incredibly disappointing for a Baldacci book. It was bad, bad, bad. The prose was torturous. Did someone ghost write this book? It felt like it.

I’ve enjoyed the series to date. While at some point I expected and hoped for some clarity with regards to her twin, the ending still surprised. Can’t wait doe the next steps in the search.

FBI Agent Atlee Pine is once again on a sabbatical - with time running out to finally solve the disappearance of her twin sister , Mercy she finally manages to identify the man who took her .
Travelling to New Jersey in pursuit of her lead she encounters ,yet again , Army CID Investigator John Puller -who is also investigating the family on another case .. He is unhappy to see her , she lost him his main lead on a previous case but agrees that Atlee's help on this case might benefit them both .

The story is fast paced , full of twist and turns and with the bad guys on their heels the body count starts to rise
Will Atlee finally solve the mystery surrounding her sister ?

This is a thoroughly enjoyable read and I hope we see more of Atlee and John in the future from
this prolific Author

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I have read all the Agent Pine books. In this one, Atee is still looking for her sister. Like many books now days this is the story arc that threads through several book until there is a solution.
John Puller, another series character, is featured in this book. When she stumbles upon another crime, they team up. This is the second time they have worked together which made the story more interesting.
I did enjoy it, but they search for her sister is getting stale. Baldacci is an exceptionally good writer, and I did enjoy the story ---

Thankyou to NetGalley, Grand Central Publishing and the author, David Baldacci, for the opportunity to read Daylight in exchange for an honest and unbiased opinion.
I loved 5he first 2 books in the Atlee Pine series and book 3 certainly did not let me down.
The storyline was well thought out and written. The characters were well drawn., especially Atlee. You can't help but love her no nonsense attitude.
Well worth a read.

SOMEHOW I had never read a David Baldacci book. I’m not sure how that is possible, but I owe Grand Central Pub + NetGalley a huge thank you for allowing me read & review this title in exchange for my personal review.

I didn’t realize until I was already into the title that it was part of the series, but it’s like many of the ongoing bestseller murder mysteries in that it can totally be read as a stand alone title / read out of order with only minor “spoilers” if you will from previous titles.

After getting over the nuances of not knowing each characters relation to one another, I was quickly invested into this plot line. I loved how Atlee’s personal connection to John’s case erupts this fast-paced investigation and gives us a truly captivating suspense story.

My only reason for not giving 5 stars? That cliffhanger, which I HATE because I am so impatient, but it was SO good, and I cannot wait to see where these characters are headed - I’m already ready for the next book!

If you read David Baldacci, you will enjoy this book. Its part of the "An Atlee Pine Thriller" and it's book # 3

Altee is on leave from the FBI and is still searching for her missing twin sister. She learns who the person responsible for the kidnapping is, Ito Vincenzo. With time running out, Altee stumbles onto a drug investigation led by Puller (another Baldacci character). As they join forces, Altee finally discovers what happened to her sister and how messed up her family dynamic really is.

Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for allowing me to review this book. If you like Baldacci, you will like this book.

Though part of a series the author gives enough backstory for those who have not read the previous books. The character Pine sets out to find her sister and forgets her mission and gets involved in another case and suddenly remembers her primary goal in the last few pages. There is more of action than plot and the story meanders aimlessly. The character Puller gives some sort of stability. Some of the other series by the author are better.

Once again, David Balducci has produced a masterpiece. As a young child, Atlee Pine’s twin sister was kidnapped and Atlee was injured to point of near death. Years later, while working as an FBI agent, she comes across a clue to who may have kidnapped her sister. She takes personal time off to follow this lead. Her search leads her to become entangled in a current case involving the family of the man that took her sister. She joins forces with a friend that is CID with the military. This case sends them on a chase that puts them in great danger and involves a number of murders. They discover involvement with a number of high ranking officials in political and law enforcement circles. This book is hard to put down once you start reading. I highly recommend it.
