Published today!! Get out there and read this book. The editors follow a group of about 150 strangers and monitor their discussion about guns. Very interesting book.
This is a hot topic at our library so I can't wait to see what our patrons think.

I enjoyed learning about the experience of journalists facilitating conversation around guns between people holding different political leanings. The book includes a well-researched summary of facts regarding the legal realities of gun ownership and the damage guns cause. A reader interested in either understanding the conservative position on gun rights, or wanting to facilitate a conversation on a hot-topic issue with people who disagree will find valuable knowledge in this book.

The book is moderately well-written. The organization and structure of the book should be improved by reordering some information to cut down on repetition. The vague statement that the conversations were difficult to arrange and moderate, repeated several times, is best summarized by the participants in the last chapter of the book. I would remove all, or all but one, other mention. In fact, nearly all technical details about how the conversations were facilitated should be condensed into one small section at the beginning or end of the book. The focus and interest of the book is the conversations and data provided to the participants. I found myself losing some interest with the first two chapters, and the material became more engaging and condensed with the following three. I appreciated the information after the fifth chapter as well.
