This is a fun story taking place in Sun City AZ with the ladies of a book club.they take over the radio broadcast for their friend who had to go out of town. On their first live broadcast they discover a dead body in the radio room as they were beginning their talk about murder mysteries. This person was not deceased but murdered with a large pair of sewing scissors sticking out of his chest. The ladies realize they are a friends fancy fancy Ginger sewing scissors. The victim is Howard Buell the programming director at the station wondering who on earth would want to kill him and why? As the story progresses they find that people have been using a friends house for illegal gambling. People in the neighborhoods are famous for garage sales and the ladies learn the items are stolen. Very well written story. I have read the authors of the stories and each one was extremely fun and enjoyable.

Excellent book. The characters are fun and interesting, and the mystery well done and kept me guessing. I absolutely love Phee and her mom (who always keeps things stirred up). And the covers for this series are fabulous!
Highly Recommend this book.

I am not sure what is funnier about this series, Sophie and the way she talks to herself about her Mom, Harriet or the way that Harrient caters to her dog, Streetman. Oh to have this kind of zany yet loving relationship LOL. Harriet is the only mom character out of all the cozies that I have come across, that manages to get her daughter into the sleuthing messes. Sophie just wants to deal with numbers not murder and dead bodies or trips to the dog park (Streeman is doggie nongrata). I radio talkshow should have been the last place to find trouble but Harriet manages to find it. She also seems to be plugged into the pop up yard sale grapevine well enough that she also manages to get some great deals on towels for Sophie and Marshall's new place. Sophie is so excited to be setting up house with Marshall, her former Minnesota crush, now her Arizona PI honey and coworker. This story has you shaking your head and chuckling out loud, I dare you to deny it! Just in time for the Christmas holidays, Sophie and Streetman are on the case, oh and Harriet's murder mystery book club, and the pinochle guys, plus the detective agency. Another winning book 4 the J.C. Eaton team!

Broadcast 4 Murder by J. C. Eaton is the 7th book in the Sophie Kimball Mystery series, and another fun read. Sophie, “Phee” Kimball has moved in with her private detective boyfriend, Marshall, and things are going well. When Phees mom, Harriet, announces she is going to be a radio with one of her friends, what could possibly happen. lol I love this series, this book made me laugh out loud, it was so funny. Once I started this book, I could not stop reading it until I was done. Not only is this book an exciting mystery but also very refreshing and a quick read. If you love funny cozy mysteries, which are my favorite, I strongly recommend this book/series, you won't be disappointed.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Thank you to NetGalley and Kensington Books for kindly providing me with a digital copy of this book for review.
This was a fun mystery read that certainly had me chuckling in places. The characters were well written and even though I have entered this series part way through, I never felt lost with any of the story arcs. I’m most definitely interested in going back and reading the other books in the series though as the book club ladies sound like a hoot.
I was slightly expecting a Christmas read from the cover, which I do love, but this takes place just after Christmas and into February so don’t worry yourself if you don’t want to read a Christmas book out of season, it doesn’t bother me personally but we’re not all the same are we!
This was a great page turner with lots of twists and a splash of romance, what more could you want?

Broadcast 4 Murder is the 7th book in the Sophie Kimball Mystery series.

This was my 1st foray into the series. Although it was book seven, I had no difficulties keeping up with characters and events and it worked for me as an individual story. It was a very entertaining read with tonnes of slapstick style humour. Sophie (aka Phee), an accountant working for a private investigative agency was a marvellous protagonist whom I found to be smart and intuitive. Phee's mum, Harriet Plunkett also enriched this droll tale as I realised I needed to expect the unexpected from her! Set in Sun City, Arizona, Broadcast 4 Murder was well-crafted, swift-paced and thoroughly entertaining. The mystery was very engaging and I was kept guessing until the end of this lively yarn. I’m not sure why I have waited so long to try this series, but I am delighted I now have! There are quite a few instalments to catch up on and I can’t wait to visit Phee and her little dog, called Streetman, in Sun City again. Very highly recommended.

I received a complimentary copy of this novel at my request from Kensington Books via NetGalley. This review is my own unbiased opinion.

In Broadcast 4 Murder, Harriet and her friend, Myrna, are thrilled to be asked to star in a live radio show in their hometown, retirement village Sun City West. As part of the Booked 4 Murder book club, they expect to talk about murder—they don’t expect to find a murder victim live on air!

Harriet’s daughter, Phee, works at a private investigation firm as their accountant. That doesn’t stop Harriet from assuming Phee is an investigator herself. The police ask Phee’s firm to help with their investigations. That is like a starting pistol for Phee to start talking to possible killers.

After all, many people had a motive to kill the radio station’s programming director, Howard. But who would have access to the murder weapon, a pair of specialized crafting scissors? And why would the only fingerprints on the scissors be from a 97 year-old women who has been dead for twenty years?

Seeing Harriet and her book club crew once again solve a murder makes me look forward to retirement! I hope I am half as active when I finally get there. The best part of this series is the characters. Every one of the regulars have large individual personalities. It is also just plain fun to follow the retirees’ exploits. The mystery was entertaining too.

The books in this series really build on each other. You can read this book as a standalone but it contains substantial spoilers for the earlier books.

If you want to read a laugh-out-loud cozy mystery, don’t miss Broadcast 4 Murder. 4.5 stars rounded up to 5 stars!

Thanks to Kensington Books and NetGalley for a copy in exchange for my honest review.

I love returning to the retirees at Sun City and Phee as she navigates life in a retirement community with her kooky Mother who keeps her on her toes. The adventures this series takes the reader on is always humorous and filled with fun. This is the 7th in series and one of my favorites in the series. I loved this next in series. Thank you to the publisher and to Net Galley for the opportunity. My review opinions are my own.

Phee is looking forward to hearing her Mother do a radio show about her book clubs latest mystery with one of her friends and book club members. When her first show is on the air her Mother screams when she finds a body in the station in a particularly gruesome manner. Phee is on the case delving into the victims enemies when a second murder occurs. Phee must protect her Mom and find the killer before the book club ladies are in danger.

I adore this series for the humor, the fun charcters and the well crafted sleuthing. I look forward to each new release and highly recommend this series for all who love cozy mysteries.

4.5 stars

This was a very entertaining read. Very slap stick in nature. Phee's mom is taking over a friend's radio show and while on air, discover the dead body of the manager. And it only gets stranger from there. I think the mystery was just as fun to follow as wondering what Phee's mom would do next.

I loved the characters in this. And the mystery was engaging plus it really made you think and consider. Definitely a series I want to continue to follow.

I received this as an ARC via in return for an honest review.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the chance to read this book!

Always enjoy a cozy form this author, and this isn't my first foray into mysteries with Sophie Kimball. I'm always interested in cozy covers with animals on them, and this was no exception. I didn't really remember that I'd read any of these until I started, but I fell into the rhythm rather quickly and remembered enjoying these books in the past. In particular Phee's mother Harriet is a delight, and makes the mystery solving all the better.

A fun romp with well fleshed out and amusing characters. Four stars.

Sophie Kimball is back with her sleuthing and accounting skills at the ready. She and Marshall are getting along great. Her mother Harriet is starting a new venture - a live radio show about her mystery book club. On the first day of the radio show, Harriet and Myrna find a dead body.
The paranoia and overreaction are on.
The twists of this mystery are well done. The book did seem to drag on though. Weeks went by with no progress. There was plenty of filler personal drama and Sophie barking up the wrong tree with her investigation.
This 7th book only rates as okay to my reading tastes. By the end I hardly cared who was responsible for the murders.
If you like dogs, Streetman certainly gets his fair share of page time.

Broadcast 4 Murder by J.C. Eaton is Book number Seven in the Sophie Kimball Mystery series.
This is such a fantastic series!

Sophie is employed by a private investigative agency as the accountant. Her romantic interest, Marshall is one of the investigators. The relationship between these two has evolved over the course of the series and I really like it.

Sophie's mom Harriet is going to be on a radio station and she is excited to tell her daughter.
Once recording has begun, the program director is found dead. A second body shows up and Harriet is moving to the top of the suspect list and Phee (Sophie) is investigating to save her mom from jail.

There were two very well written mysteries in this book. A few twists and red herrings that were perfectly paced and plotted.

The characters are well developed, quirky and fun.

A little romance and humor and this is the perfect recipe for a fantastic cozy mystery.

HIGHLY recommend!

Another great addition to this series.
Great and quirky characters, a highly entertaining and gripping plot.
The solid mystery, full of twists and turns, kept me guessing and the solution came as a surprise.
I can't wait to read the next installment, highly recommended.
Many thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for this ARC, all opinions are mine

Yikes! Phee was happy her mom Harriet got a gig on a radio show to talk about mysteries but then.....Harriet finds the body of Howard, the programming director, shoved in a closet. And, his girlfriend Sylvia is a prime suspect because a) Harriet supplanted her as host of a sewing show in the time slot and b) there are sewing shears in his body. Of course, Phee, and her love interest Marshall, will once again work with Harriett and her friends to find the true villain. This is a fun series with mature characters and a great setting in Sun City. Don't worry if you haven't read the earlier ones- it will be fine as a standalone because Eaton catches you up on the basics early on. There's a nice sense of humor and terrific camaraderie among this group of sleuths. The mystery isn't too twisty but it will keep you guessing. Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC. Perfect for cozy fans.

Thoroughly loved this book and it was the first in the series for me. I enjoyed it so much I want to read the previous installments in the series. Having lived in Arizona, and still have family that lives there, I easily connected to the atmosphere and characters in this book. This was a very well crafted mystery with engaging and believable characters.

I really enjoyed that the seventh in this series was more focused on Phee. Yes, her mother is involved but not to the extent as previous books. The book club ladies are mentioned but it isn’t as over the top as in past installments.

I found the pace lively, the book well-crafted, and thoroughly entertaining.

I was given an advanced reader’s copy. I am not required to leave a positive review.

Broadcast 4 Murder is a delightful read. The characters are well developed and as I got to know them I wondered how they started. I liked this book enough to buy two of the previous books. This is an easy to read story that kept me interested right up to the hilarious reveal..

Accountant Sophie “Phee” Kimball knows that when her mother Harriet Plunkett starts something new, Phee will somehow end up having to get involved. Harriet becomes the envy of Sun City West, Arizona when she and her best friend have the chance to take their mulrder mystery book club discussions to a local radio station. Phee tunes into her mother’s first show, but instead of a chat about a cozy mystery, the older women are screaming about a real life murder. Fearing the worst, Phee rushes to the station and finds the body of the programming director. Phee puts her spreadsheets aside to help investigate the murder and try to get her and Harriet’s lives back to normal.

This is the seventh book in this fun series by J.C. Eaton. I’ve read some, but not all of the prior books. There are a lot of characters in the book, but they are introduced slowly over the first few chapters which is a help to new readers. I really like Phee as a main character. She works for a private investigation firm, along with her boyfriend Marshall, but as an accountant. However, that doesn’t stop Phee from getting out from behind her desk and out in the community asking questions and finding clues. I like that Marshall encourages Phee’s involvement, as long as she’s smart about it and doesn’t knowingly put herself in danger. With the help of her mom, who has connections throughout Sun City, Phee is able to get information that her boyfriend and boss can’t. Together, they slowly put things together to solve the murder case, but things get complicated before they are able to ultimately identify the killer. Harriet is a little more over the top than usual in this book and borders on being annoying, but I still love the energy and enthusiasm she has for whatever her current project is. Overall, this is an engaging and fun, and sometimes silly, cozy mystery. I enjoyed the book and look forward to more of Phee’s adventures.

I received this ebook from NetGalley through the courtesy of Kensington Books. An advance copy was provided to me at no cost, but my review is voluntary and unbiased.

Great series very relatable since I live in Arizona and know the cities. I’ve know many people that have similar traits to the characters. There is a great mother daughter crime solving spin to the series.
