It's always fun to visit with the Seaside Knitters who were soon looking forward to welcoming Cass and Danny's baby into the world. In the meantime, Cass and her new friend Elena were sort of mommy yoga buddies which led to a connection with the murder of a prominent photographer. There were times when Izzy was wondering if she really knew Sam at all due to his having had the photographer as a teacher at one time and finding some of Sam's work she'd never seen before. Izzy was awesome and stuck by him with lots of encouragement.

I just love the oldest knitter, Birdie! She was quite the internet wizard on her iPad, and it's just cool to begin with how down to earth this lady always is despite her wealth. Her research into the dead man was really valuable for the investigation. It was interesting how some of the regulars were entwined in this mystery. What I've always liked about the series was that the showdown has never been overly nail biting or dangerous, and this time didn't disappoint me. It was very peaceful, and as always, there was some closure going on at the end of the book. This ending was very sweet!

I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC of this book provided by the publisher via NetGalley, and my opinions are my own.

This is the fourth book of the Seaside Knitters Society Book series and the story is about a mysterious murder that happened in a small-town community, Sea Harbor, Massachusetts.
It starts with a well-known famous photographer, Harrison Grant who was invited to give a speech at the opening reception. But everything turns upside down when one of the locals “Izzy” found Grant’s lifeless body on the steps to the house’s shore next door to where the main event had been held. The property owner has become the prime suspect, but Izzy and her fellow knitters aren’t sure and determined to find out the truth and revealed the true murderer.
This is my first reading from this author. The overall experience of reading this book is fun and felt like you are living in that cozy, cheer, and friendly neighborhood surrounded by supportive people.
I like the author’s writing style and how she builds the characters and the relationship between them. Also, you can find a bonus knitting pattern for a baby hat, at the end of the book.
But oh Boy, this is a slow-burning pace. I felt there much saying than actions with lots of descriptions. Also, there is a large number of characters, so make sure you read the list of characters at the beginning of the book.
That been said, if you are a mature thriller/Mystery book lover who seeks an actioned packed, nail-biting, edge of the seat story, this is not the right book for you.
I recommend this book to 'Newbie' readers of the thriller/mystery genre and to those who want a light read.
Thank you to Kensington Books and NetGalley for providing me with a copy of this e-book in exchange for an honest review.
I Highly Appreciate it for giving me a chance to read “A Crime of a Different Stripe”.

Great read by a new author for me. The plot is well written and enticing to the reader. The author writes in a way that makes the reader feel like part of The story. Will definitely read another book by the author.

Unfortunately I had to DNF this one. I was not interested on any of the characters or the storyline. I see many people give this one 4 or 5 stars, but sadly I just couldn't get through it.

I consider this one of the better cozy series out there. This book is well written and planned out very well. And then there are the characters... totally engaging and thoroughly likable. This is the 4th book in the series but it can be read as a standalone. I think you'll discover you want to read more of the series. The very best part of this book is friendship. These women are all ages and their friendship is real and the love between this cast of characters is amazing. I want to be their friend!

When a renowned Photographer is invited to present a series of workshops in Sea Harbor no one is expecting that he will be murdered at the welcoming ceremony. He has no connection to the area. Or does he? The ladies of the Seaside knitters come together to support Izzy after she discovers his boy the morning after he goes missing just before he is to be introduced.

The ladies go on to conduct their own investigation when it appears that the local law enforcement are going to charge one of their friends with murder. It becomes even more pressing when Izzy's husband has more motive for murder than any of them thought possible. As the life of victim becomes clear many more motives are uncovered.

The story unfolds nicely and I enjoyed the addition of multiple knitting projects. You need not be a knitter to enjoy this novel. The side story is a good addition. The progression of Izzy's friends pregnancy and her friendship with a young pregnant women. The conclusion of the twist element was the only thing i found unsatisfying in this story. It ended rather abruptly for my taste.

A Crime of a Different Stripe is the fourth book in the Seaside Knitters Mystery series. I would consider it a standalone...although reading the previous books might give you more backstory, plus they're fun reads.

I enjoyed this book so much. There's no wild and crazy...just great characters and and interesting whodunit. Definitely recommend.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley. My thoughts and opinions are my own and without bias or favor.

I love this "community type" books; maybe it's covering the subconscious need my body has a for company and comradery (because as Pooh Bear says, "It's top peoplely out in the world"). All I need are books!! Goldenberg is an excellent author and I love her Maine settings and the characters are amazing. Sit down, prop up your feet, and prepare to read a fabulous book. 📚

I received an ARC from NetGalley and this is my voluntary, honest review.

A Crime Of A Different Stripe is the fifteenth book in the Seaside Knitters Society Mystery series by Sally Goldenbaum. I have read and loved the entire series. Each release is a charming visit to the seaside with good friends and knitting. Thank you to the publisher and to Net Galley for the opportunity.

The Canary Cove Art Colony is planning a lecture series in their magnificent new old house. A invitation has been extended to renowned photographer Harrison Grant. At the end of the event, Grant appears to have disappeared.

Izzy is out running along the beach with her dog when she discovers Grant’s lifeless body on the steps to the house where the event was held. Izzy and her fellow knitters are shocked when the home owner is charged with the murder. Izzy begins to investigate with their help and soon clues and suspects abound.

I love the world the author has created with close women friendships and a sweet small town where people are kind and care for one another. Each book is a fun escape from life and always a well crafted sleuth. I highly recommend this next in series for your reading enjoyment.

Loved this story!! The characters are awesome! Have you ever had that friend that y’all could read each other’s minds? I love Nell, Birdie, Cass and Izzy and how they relate to each other. The way the folks of Sea Harbor stick together is how folks should do it. Even grumpy folks need to be loved and appreciated. I think you will enjoy the Canary Cove artists and the wonderful knitters in this story. I can’t wait to hang out with them again. I received this book from NetGalley, but my opinion is my own.

A Crime Of A Different Stripe is the fifteenth book in the Seaside Knitters Society Mystery series by Sally Goldenbaum.

The Canary Cove Art Colony is planning a lecture series that they are planning to hold in their magnificent new old house. They would like Sam Perry, Izzy’s husband, to extend an invitation to renowned photographer Harrison Grant. Sam, a former student of Grant’s, is reluctant to extend the invitation but finally relents, never revealing why. The evening of the event arrives, and Grant seems to be enjoying visiting with the attendees. Toward the end of the event, Grant appears to have disappeared.

The next morning as Izzy is out running along the beach with her dog, she discovers Grant’s lifeless body on the steps to the house’s shore next door to where the Art Colony party had been held. The property owner, a curmudgeon, and recluse becomes a suspect, but Izzy and her fellow knitters aren’t sure. When Izzy receives information, that makes her wonder if Sam is somehow involved. Soon, Grant’s personal secretary arrives in town and provides the knitters with information that proves to be invaluable in determining the killer.

A subplot of the story centers around Cass and her new yoga partner, Elena. Elena is in her 20’s like Cass is pregnant, and they do yoga together. Her husband works on Cass’s lobster boat. As Cass is trying to learn more about her, she is vague about her past as if she is hiding something. Goldenbaum will skillfully weave Elena’s history into the mystery.

The book is well-written and plotted and moves at a nice pace. The characters are all well-developed, engaging, and believable. They are ones that I would like to have as friends.

A pattern for a baby hat also is included in the book.

Welcome to the cozy seaside town of Sea Harbor where four friends come together in the joy of knitting and solving crimes. So when a body is found the day following the Autumn Art Reception, it’s time to purl into action and get some answers.

A Crime of a Different Stripe was my first trip into this well established series, yet they welcomed this new comer with open arms. I loved the bonds of friendship shown all throughout the book. The age differences within friendship was awesome. Well written characters with great personalities, fun and entertaining townspeopleA well plotted and paced mystery to keep readers turning the pages. Author Sally Goldenbaum has something special with this series. From prenatal yoga to egotistical photographers this story was kind of all over the place yet entertaining while providing a good mystery. It took me a few minutes to get everyone figured out but once I did the town of Sea Harbor was like visiting an old friend.

A Crime of a Different Stripe is the 15th book in the Seaside Knitters Society Mystery series.

The Seaside Knitters Society, Nell, Cassie, Birdie and Izzy, are friends in Sea Harbor, Massachusetts. The main characters in this novel are soon-to-be mum and co-owner of the Halloran Lobster Company, Cassie Halloran, and Izzy Perry, mother of a toddler and current owner of the Sea Harbor Yarn Studio. Nell Endicott is Izzy's aunt and a retired company director and Birdie Favazza is an octogenarian. When a body is found on the day following the town’s autumn art reception, the Seaside Knitters search for answers.

A Crime of a Different Stripe was my 1st in this series. Although it was book fifteen, I had no difficulties keeping up with characters and events and it worked for me as an individual story.

The four women had a brilliant friendship and the great cast of characters, including the fun townsfolk, and strong friendship bonds, helped to zhoosh up this autumnal cozy as did the switching viewpoints. I was sold on this compulsive story from the very beginning, and Sally Goldenbaum really impressed me with her fluid writing. The details of the plot were very well-executed, the story was amusing and easy to follow, and every chapter left me with a compelling need to read on. This was an intriguing yarn, the elements of a good mystery - red herrings, twists, and measured pacing –skillfully applied to a community of delightful characters, thus creating a captivating tale until the very end.

It was a very good cozy and I am looking forward to reading book 16, as well as the others from the series. If you adore a great cozy mystery, don't miss out on A Crime of a Different Stripe!

I received a complimentary copy of this novel at my request from Kensington Books via NetGalley. This review is my own unbiased opinion.

Harrison Grant , the famed photographer, comes to Sea Harbor to talk to the local artist group at Canary Cove. He manages to charm every one he meets --some more than others. When it comes time for his talk he's a no show. Where did he go? No one can find him. Its Izzy on her morning run that discovers Harrison's lifeless body at the bottom of Rico Silva's dangerous steps. Why was he there? Was he alone and had an unfortunate accident? Or was someone angry enough to send him spiralling down those stairs? Who would want this great man dead? The more the Seaside Knitters learn about Grant the more they are certain he lied about this being the first time he'd been to Sea Harbor. But why the lies ? That's the mystery they need to figure out so they can once again rest easy..

When Harrison Grant, a famous (well, semi famous) photographer is found dead on the beach in Seaside Harbor, the Seaside Knitters spin into action to solve the crime. Cass, Izzy, Birdie, and Nell all have different strengths and right now they all have slightly different issues. For one thing, Cass is pregnant and her ob has been keeping a very close eye on her. Izzy's worried because her husband Sam was the one who invited Harrison to speak at the art festival. You know Sam wasn't the one who did it but who among the fairly long list of potential villains did? This isn't too twisty but the change in points of view will periodically force you to reset your assumption. Fans of crafting mysteries who haven't read the series (I've only read one so this was more or less a standalone for me and it was fine) should know there isn't a lot of knitting but there is a lot of comradarie. Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC. A fun read.

A Crime of a Different Stripe by Sally Goldenbaum is the fifteenth book in the Seaside Knitters Society cozy mystery series. It is set in Sea Harbor, Massachusetts.

This can be read as a standalone. I did like the list of characters at the beginning of the book. This helped me remember who the main recurring characters were as I only read number thirteen a few years ago. That one I really liked.

This one I had a hard time getting into. By the time the body’s found, I couldn’t have cared. I continued with the story and just couldn’t get a feel for the characters. Sadly, I felt disappointed by the time I finished. I would say it was ok, and probably would have thought better of it had I been following this series more closely.

There is a pattern at the end of the book.

I was given an advanced reader’s copy. I am required to leave a honest review.

Always delightful, this installment in the series did not let down fans. Charming characters, rich atmosphere, excellent writing, and fun mystery all make for an enjoyable cozy that is an easy reader for new and old fans of the series.

Sea Harbor is a friendly town where everybody knows everyone else, at least to wave to. Fundraisers are well attended and so when the art society arranges a series of photographic workshops with the one time mentor of Seaside Knitters member Izzy Perry's husband Sam they are confident of a good turnout.

No one is prepared for the effect the disappearance and subsequent murder of the visiting photographer has on everyone. Needing to get the town back on an even keel Izzy, along with Birdie, Nell, and Cass, begin to delve into the life history of a man who seemed to have caused pain and heartache wherever he went.

Once again Sally Goldenbaum has written a cleverly executed novel starring her four amateur detectives and their families. This is an excellent addition to her Seaside Knitters Society series and is, amazingly, the 15th book. The familiar townspeople are still there along with a new cast of supporting characters which make for an entertaining and thought-provoking read.

I was able to read an advanced copy of this book thanks to NetGalley and the publishers in exchange for an unbiased review and would recommend it to any lovers of small town cozy crime. This is a worthy addition to that genre.

This book takes place in Sea Harbor, a small town on Cape Ann north of Boston. Four knitting friends are involved in the series, Birdie, an older widow, Nell (husband Ben), Izzie who owns the knit store (husband Sam a photographer), and very pregnant Cass who is Nell's niece (husband Danny). Sam has been asked to get photographer Harrison Grant for the debut lectures for the Sea Harbor Art series. Grant actually arrives in Sea Harbor early and stays at the Beauport Hotel before being picked up by Sam to go the opening cocktail party at the Canary Cove Art Colony. Grant seems very personable at the party, but when it's time for his lecture, he has disappeared.

The next morning Izzie is doing her run on the beach with her dog Red, when she sees Grant Harrison dead on the steps to the beach belonging to Rico Silva (a kind of recluse since his wife left years before). The police determine it's murder, and the town is very cautious. The knitters aim to solve the murders. Cass and Elena, the pregnant young wife of one of her employees, have been taking yoga classes with Harmony, and for some reason Harmony becomes very interested in Elena. The police are looking closely at Rico as the murderer, but the knitters don't think he's the killer. At one point, a box of photos turns up with Sam's name on it and the knitters find pictures which look familiar along with evidence that Grant has used one of Sam's photos to get a famous photo prize. Sam temporarily becomes another suspect.

When Grant's office assistant, Charlotte Simpson comes to Sea Harbor to talk with the police, the knitters invite her to join them for a meal. They find she has all of Grant's trips and phone contacts on her computer. Using this information, the knitters get closer to the killer. Near the end, there is great danger to a close friend, but the knitters win at last.

The plot is clever, the characters are good, and the story is exciting.

Once again, readers who travel to Seaside Harbor have the pleasure of visiting with Izzy, Cass, Birdie and Nell as they continue their friendship over knitting and murder. Seaside Harbor is one of those rare small towns that seems to have a murder rate higher than any big city in America. Luckily they have the Seaside Knitters to solve the murders for them. In addition, the knitting group also has the impending arrival of a baby and relationship problems - but it’s nothing they can’t handle, and they even have time for their usual visits to the delicious restaurants and back porches in the town. A wonderful cozy mystery series.
