A Crime of a Different Stripe by Sally Goldenbaum (Seaside Knitters #15) 4 stars

It is always a pleasure to read a Seaside Knitters cozy mystery. If you like your cozies on the quiet, intellectual side this series is for you. I have read this series since its first incarnation "Death by Cashmere" and enjoyed each one. The characters have become old familiar friends that you might visit once or twice a year. This mystery centers on the death of a visiting art lecturer. Harrison Grant, a famous photographer to the glitterati comes to Sea Harbor to teach a mini course. But he disappears during the Opening Reception and is found dead the next day off a cliff. There are several suspects, including Sam Perry, Izzy Perry's husband and one time student of Harrison Grant. It is up to the Seaside Knitters (Izzy, Birdie, Nell and Cass) to solve the mystery that endangers one of their own. This series is more a character study and putting together myriad facts to solve the mystery. For the Seaside Knitters, solving the mystery is like resolving a disturbance in the "force" that surrounds their community. This books is a quiet respite from the turmoil of current events.

Thank you Netgalley and Kensington Books for this ARC

This is one of my favorite series. I enjoy reading books that involve yarn work, small stores, and fun, colorful characters.
This series by Sally Goldenbaum fits perfectly.
Birdie, Izzy, Nell, Cass, and all the other characters make the words in the page come alive, sweeping me into the story and into their tight knit circle of friends.
In A Crime of a Different Stripe, Sam, Izzy’s husband, has a piece of his past brought back to life, causing pain and anger amongst other residents in their seaside neighborhood.
When the death of an invited guest shakes their town, Izzy refuses to sit back, and before long she finds herself wrapped up in a horrible investigation.

I loved this book and can’t wait to see what happens next to some of my favorite people.
