I was glad to see Poppy back in another book. The character's development has been a positive trend. At the beginning of the series, Poppy was borderline annoying but as the series has progressed, she has become more pleasant and genial. I was glad to see that the love triangle was finally resolved to a degree. Sometimes that type of thing can get tedious if it go too long. There was a bit of a cliffhanger at the end of the book to keep us wanting more. The mystery itself was imaginative and had a good conclusion. I will be watching for the next book in this series.

This is the fifth book in this series, and it certainly left me with a “what the heck just happened “ attitude when I finished it.
Poppy has a houseful if odd guests, and when one of them succumbs to a unnatural death, Poppy knows she needs to find the answers.
Aunt Ginny is the absolute best, her and the Alexa device had me chuckling, as every once in a while, mine talks to me too.

I’m not sure how I feel about Poppy and her relationship with both Tim and Gia. I think it’s time for Poppy to maybe find a new love interest, one without so much pain from the past.

I can’t wait to see what happens next!

Overall, Wine Tastings Are Murder, book #5 in the Poppy McAllister Mystery series, was as outstanding a cozy mystery as the first four books in the series. Once again, I could not point my finger at the culprit! It felt a little slow at first but even then, Aunt Ginny kept me laughing. Once the action took off, which was soon, it was a typically awesome Poppy McAllister book which says a lot because this series stands head and shoulders above so many of the good light mysteries out today. If the book had been flat except for my time with little Henry that would have made it worth reading. but it was far from flat! Complicated romance situations for both Poppy and Ginny, the "ride and die" fab five, murder, Tim and Gia, not to mention the kind of slightly crazy best friend anyone would wish for, creates a wonderful experience for any reader.. In addition the intricately woven murder mystery is likely to keep any reader engrossed and guessing. Libby Klein is a whiz as developing realistic and lovable people and amazing, complex mysteries. It would be a blast to spend time with any of the people in her life. Well, maybe it would be more than a blast to drool over Gia!
I love this series so I was of course delighted to get an ARC via NetGalley. You may be the first to hear about it but you sure won't be the last!

Fifth book in series, can stand alone, but probably would be better to read the previous books first.
Poppy, is a likeable protagonist. Aunt Ginny is a hoot.
Several people are staying at Poppy's B & B. A very interesting crew. One is murdered which leaves many suspects.
Now I need to go back and read the previous books.

Wine Tastings are Murder is the fifth installment in the A Poppy McAllister Mystery series set in Cape May, New Jersey and featuring Baker/B&B owner Poppy McAllister. Things have been a little slow at the Butterfly House Bed and Breakfast thanks to a rash of bad reviews that were posted out of spite by a local Chef, so Poppy and her Aunt Ginny are looking forward to hosting a Welcome Wine and Cheese for a group of folks that will be taking part in a local wine tour.

The very wealthy Vince Baker and his much younger wife Sunny have descended upon the house along with Sunny's tiny pomeranian, Tammy Faye. Also arriving is Vince's daughter Alyce and her obnoxious husband Ryan. Tensions run high among the family members - Alyce and Ryan think Sunny has married Vince just for his money and they are determined to break up the marriage.

The first stop on the winery tour is the Laughing Gull Winery, owned by Poppy's high school classmate Kim and her partner Daniel. Nobody is really surprised after all the family squabbling that Vince winds up dead but when Kim fears that she and Daniel are considered suspects she reaches out to Poppy to find the killer.

A fast paced plot chock full of suspects and hijinks that will keep you laughing out loud from page one, this is the perfect cozy afternoon read and a delightful addition to the series. Poppy has her hands full with Aunt Ginny and her friends, Amazon's Alexa, a narcoleptic new housekeeper Victory, a disgruntled Figaro (the cat) and trying to juggle her two suitors, Tim and Gia. While I was seriously hoping that Poppy was finally going to make a choice between the two men and put the dreaded love triangle to rest, the final paragraph of the book reveals a shocking twist.

I received an advanced copy of Wine Tastings are Murder from NetGalley via Kensington Publishing. While not required to write a review I am happy to offer my honest opinion.

Poppy In Fine Form.....
The fifth Poppy McAllister mystery finds Poppy in fine form when she is faced with a murder at a Cape May winery. A dead body at the Laughing Gull Winery is far from welcome. Poppy has her work cut out. An engaging storyline, plenty of humour, a delightful backdrop, a likeable protagonist in Poppy and a colourful cast of supporting characters. Great fun.

I enjoyed the continuation of the series. I didn't find it as humorous as I have the others in the series. The mystery kept me guessing until the end. It was a good resolution. Speaking of endings, there is the issue of the love triangle that finally gets resolved, but there is a twist. I look forward to reading the next book in the series.

What a great series. Poppy and her aunt ginny and her cat Figaro run a bed and breakfast. Poppy is hosting a wine tour group. When someone is killed poppy sets out to investigate before they kill again. It's hard to put this book down to do anything.

I hsve been absolutely in love with this series since the first book. This book is no exception! The setting is perfect, the characters loveable and relatable. The comedy spinkled throughout the page ikeeps you laughing out loud, sometimes until it hurts. Finding ou5 who done itwas made difficult. (but in a perfect sort of way) due to the twists and turns that the plot made.

The ending was a shocker. I'm still trying to pick my jaw up off the floor. I guess we need to wait until the next in the series to find out what happens next!
