I’ve read nearly all Cara Putman’s books, and certainly all featuring Caroline’s friends who appear in “Lethal Intent.” So, my expectations were high...and Putman’s absolutely met them! Exceeded, in fact.

I work in the tech/computer software/healthcare industries, so so much about “Lethal Intent”’s plot appealed to and in fact intrigued me. I’ve read a number of, granted, hypothetical yet still physician-written case studies on genetic testing, cancer, and other topics covered in the book—it felt like my job came to life in fiction!

The DC setting was epic as ever; I’ve not been in a few years, and suffice to say am now ready to go back, plus do a little exploring beyond my usual haunts. (I love having usual haunts...thanks, and hi, Dad. 😂😍🤙🏻)

Denouement did feel a tad quick; I would have enjoyed seeing motive explored just a bit further. Also, a few loose ends lend me hope that we will see these characters appear in a future read. However, both are small potatoes compared to all the good in this book. An excellent read.

I received a copy of the book from the publisher via NetGalley. All opinions are my own.

Lethal Intent by Cara C. Putman. A legal thriller that has an interesting premise with elements of suspense, mystery, faith, romance, forgiveness and truth. Although the beginning of book was difficult to get into as it progressed, it evolved into a good read with reliable and realistic characters.

Thank you to the publisher, author, and NetGalley for the opportunity to preview the book.

LETHAL INTENT by CARA PUTMAN is a fast paced legal thriller with a story that is both heart breaking and heart warming, as one always gets with children and hospitals involved, and good Christian content.
The characters are great. I like the tiny Caroline Bragg with her four inch heels and big heart, and the huge football champ, Brandon Lancaster, who is devoted to protecting those he loves. They both have issues with rejection due to what they went through growing up and understand each other well, having been good friends for years.
When Caroline starts her new job as legal counsel for Quentin Jackson at Praecursoria she finds it hard to fit in with the staff who seem to distrust her - or else they are hiding something from her.
She is excited about the work they are doing with CAR T - cell therapies which are for combating cancer and leukemia, and becomes friendly with Dr Anna Johnson who is treating Bethany Anderson, one of Brandon's foster children from Almost Home.
Will Caroline be able to save the company in which her boyfriend Brandon has invested heavily, or will she go the same way as others who have been looking too closely into the lab work at Praecorsoria?
This is a really exciting read and one I can highly recommend. I guarantee you will not be able to put it down!
I was given a free copy of the book by NetGalley from Thomas Nelson. The opinions in this review are completely my own.
