I love the cover and title of this book, and it was an interesting read. Unfortunately it read a bit like a lifetime movie to me; a little overdone/dramatic.

Holy macaroni! This book blindsided me all the way through. Absolutely taut with tension and a plot that will have your mind scattered as you try to make sense of what makes no sense at all. A brilliant piece of writing from Clay Savage!

Your ex moves in across the road and in horror you realise that his new partner is an exact replica of you. Not just looks a bit like you, but is a mirror-image. You see this as clear as day but why does nobody else? This is the just the start of so many questions that this book throws up. It's filled with twists and turns, brilliant reveals and will keep you guessing until the very end.

Paula struggles with her sanity in light of this and leans on her husband as her world crumbles around her. When murder occurs Paula doesn't know if she killed or not. Her entire world falls out from under her. I was gripped and felt Clay portrayed her mental health struggles so well. My heart went out to Paula and I was stretched trying to guess where it was going.

Nothing is as it seems. Nothing.

The book weaves and twists your mind as you read along with the plot developing and characters revealing themselves. Go in to this with no expectations! Highly recommended reading, this one I read cover to cover in a few hours and highly recommend! A brilliant psychological thriller that will keep you guessing until the end.

Thank you to Netgalley and the Publisher for my copy. All review opinions are my own and totally unbiased.

Wow! I read this in one sitting because it was unputdownable! Loved how the story was woven together and was delighted to be guessing until the end! Many books are predictable and this one isn’t! Enjoyed and will recommend!

When I first started this book I wasn’t so sure about how much I was going to like it. I found the beginning a little hard to get into. But as the story unfolded I found myself liking it more and more. Paula has suffered from depression for as long as she can remember and her husband Alan is there to support her no matter what. When her ex-lover moves in across the street Paula is certain that his new wife is her identical. As Paula seems to spin out fo control the story exposes secrets I never saw coming.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publishers for allowing me to read this advanced copy.

What a surprise!! I picked up the book because of its cover and description, and I got so surprised by the story.

We follow Paula and her husband Paul. Their new neighbors are Anthony and Hannah. The same Anthony who studied with Paula in college (at that time, someone they both knew mysteriously died) and the same Hannah that looks like Paula. I mean…. they are identical.

But it seems only Paula sees this; her husband thinks they’re just similar, but Paula is convinced they both are identical. So she will ““investigate””.

I thought the first 40% a little boring. I wanted to know what would happen, but I wasn’t super excited to continue reading. But after that, the book get better. A LOT better.

I love the ending. It is really well written, but not super-surprising (which is not bad at all). I think that some
parts of the villain’s plan was a little huge for so little to happened cause of it, but I don’t thinks this is a big problem.

So we have a mysterious plot, with great story development and a super good ending. Which means…. a wonderful thriller.

❶ Lots of suspense! I thought this book was going to be really similar to The Neighbors and follow a previous couple as they live across the street from one another but that is only a tiny portion of the plot. Really the focus of the book is on the mental stability of the main character, Paula. Which brings me to...
➋ The main character, in some chapters I felt for her, sometimes I hated her. The volley between was great and kept me really engaged.
➌ I mention it above but this book won’t be for everyone. I appreciated the nod to depression and the role it played in the book and I feel like Clay did a great job of having other characters support poor Paula.

❶ It was pretty obvious to solve the mystery of the “who what when.” I was excited I guessed it but a little bummed out.
➋ The final sentence was a little bit of a letdown. I wanted it to be someone else and you’ll see what I mean when you read it!
➌ Reflecting now, I guess I just really wasn’t a big fan of the last 25%. Once the ending is set in motion I didn’t feel there were enough twists as there were throughout the first 75% of the book.

In summary: if you love domestic thrillers you’ll love this one!

What a mind bender! Love this one. It kept me on the edge on my seat the whole time. The second I thought I knew what was going to happen, i would second guess myself everytime. That doesn't happen a lot when I read thrillers anymore. Recommended!

I tried really hard to get into this book but I just couldn’t. I felt it had so much potential but the story line was way too confusing to follow. Characters kept getting jumbled and ultimately I gave up.

I enjoyed this book with all its twists. The beginning was a little slow but then quickly picked up and became a book I couldn’t put down. Thank you NetGalley for the ARC.

This is one of the creepiest books I’ve ever read. What if you found a duplicate of a person that you really love? I highly recommend this book I was literally on the edge of my seat to the last page.
