Lately I have been a sucker for bully romances. This definitely did not disappoint. My emotions were all over the place. This book is not for the faint of heart. I loved the push and pull between Allie and Roman. As well as the supporting characters. This had angst, drama, heartache. All my favorite things!!!

When Allie’s mother dies, she is sent to live with her only relative ... her biological father, who she has never met. On her first day at her new school, she runs into The Devils, Roman, Emilio and Dom and they will make her last year of school h3ll. Roman just can’t help himself from tormenting the new girl ... and he can’t get her out of his head. He will either make her his girl or he’ll break her.

I’m not normally a fan of high school romances ... but this was not a sweet romance and I found that I really enjoyed it. I felt sorry for Allie because not only did her mom die, but her dad’s an a$$. And then she falls for school’s bad boy and he treats her like crap. Then there’s Roman ... first I didn’t like him, then I liked him, then I didn’t like him ... and so on. You know ... he’s the bad boy that good girls just can’t resist. I also really liked the supporting characters and I hope they all get a book ... Dom, Emilio, Aaron and Kasey. A great debut novel for this author!

I'm gonna ask you to please don't judge this book by its cover.

At first glance this seems like a typical high school bully romance with the popular guy obsessing over the new girl falling right at his feet, so my expectations weren't too high, but this kept me hooked from start to finish.

First, I wouldn't say this is a bully romance. Rather, it's a high school drama romance (but make it latino). We have Roman Valdez, the popular athlete with a certain influence that everyone wants to be friends with but he's not interested, he only needs those who have always been with him and to whom he is loyal. That said, that doesn't make it any less troublesome, and Allie Ramirez, the new girl at school, is his punishment. Since the moment he was tasked with accompanying her on her first day he thought it was a good idea to pick on her. Too bad this girl has already been through a hard time and has nothing to lose against him.

Allie Ramirez is living a new life that she wants nothing to do with. As if losing someone she loved and her friends wasn't enough, she had to change schools and go live with a complete stranger. If the popular guy wants to mess with her he can try, she has no time for those childish games.

Here is a romance in which the guy falls quickly for the new girl while trying to completely deny his feelings and also deep declarations of love that only a teenager can make, along with a group of good side characters that I hope also have a story that tell.

This is my first book by this author and I really enjoyed it so I intend to continue this series. There's nothing presumptuous about her writing and the story was easy to follow. There are also some trigger warnings but there's a note at the beginning saying which chapters to skip for those who may be more sensitive, but I will leave them here anyway [loss of loved one, rape, racism, police brutality].

An enjoyable New Adult High School Bully Romance.

This story touches on a variety of topics that realistically we face every day, especially more times than not in high school. After losing her mother, Allie is forced to move and live with her father. Dealing with her lost, coupled with her new move and breaking up with her boyfriend, her life is in shambles. Allie's new school is ruled by the Devil's who are responsible for all the bullying that we as dark high school romance salivate for. Allie's character is a great example of how as teenagers, we have to fake it to make it through our everyday life. We can't crumble in the face of high school bullies and Allie certainly doesn't. Roman and his fellow devils are sexy alpha bad boys. The banter throughout the story was entertaining and the overall plot kept me intrigued.

***4.5 ‘Vanilla’ Stars***

I’ll admit that I’m not a huge fan of bully romances. I’ll read them if they are by my one click authors, but most of the time I just pass them by. But this one, this one caught my attention. Actually, it was the last two sentences that hooked me and I decided to give it a go with no real expectations, just the hope that I would enjoy it in the end. Well, I more than enjoyed it. I went down the rabbit hole and didn’t want to come out and was quite disappointed when there were no more words to read.

I ADORED Allie. ADORED the girl. She is that down to earth girl who is comfortable in her own skin. Her world has gone sideways in a big way, but she takes it in stride and does what needs to be done to keep her head high. Roman. Okay. Here’s the thing with Roman. In a lot of ways he is the big bad, he made my eyes hurt from all the rolling he caused and the urge to reach out and Gibbs smack was strong ~ oh so strong ~ and yet, it was hard not to fall in love with him, because he is loyal and protective to those he calls his own.

Allie and Roman’s journey to their HEA was a fun one. It was filled with a bunch of eye rolling, growling and a few “Oh No He/She Didn’t” moments, but there was also a bunch of laugh out loud moments, swoon worthy ones and a good dose of heat because Allie and Roman just flowed for me. They had that chemistry that jumped off the page and had me wanting more, but they were also equals in a lot of ways. Roman may have been BMOC, but Allie didn’t bow down, so the balance of power between them was pretty even. Now the big fucking sinkhole in their journey was a massive one in every way and I was totally Team Allie ~ 100%, no questions asked ~ but I gotta say that once Rome figured his shit out, thanks to his friends ~ the boy did good and I loved where things were with them at the end of the book.

This is my first read by the author, and I thoroughly enjoyed the ride. The writing was engaging, pacing good and the dual first person POV done very well. There are triggers in this book ~ big ones ~ and the author does make note of it before the books starts, but I felt that they were handled well and from what I can gather will be issues that play out as the series progresses, so there are some things left up in the air when the book ends.

Now, as you know, I’m a sucker for well written secondary characters and this baby is filled with them. I adored Dominique, Emilo, Aaron, Kasey and Julio. They totally kicked ass. I loved that while Dom and Emilio were totally Roman’s boys, they also thought for themselves ~ it wasn’t just bro code all the way. Aaron ended up being a sweetheart and Julio was just everything! And Kasey, well, I’m definitely looking forward to seeing where the series takes her.

Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for giving me this arc copy in exchange for an honest review.
I am really happy that I got a chance to read this book. I am not exactly a huge fan of high school bully romance because I have read a lot of them that turned me off the trope, But wicked devil redeemed it in my eyes. It had everything you would want in a novel like this, the mean girls, drama and many more. I loved how every character was written. I would definitely read more books from this author.
I won’t recommend this book for people who are a bit sensitive to topics like this but if you want a change from cotton candy cute romance, you can give this book a try. It was a really nice read and I am glad I gave it a chance.

I’m not going to lie, I love my smutty fantasy novels and wasn’t too sure how I’d go with contemporary new adult, but man did I love this book! I could NOT stop reading it! I was riveted from page one and I gotta say, bully romance is definitely a new favourite trope of mine. The sex scenes were 🔥🔥🔥 and the trigger warning scenes were heartbreakingly intense. I can’t fault this book.

This is the first book I've read from this author and it was such a fantastic story. This story might not be for everyone. The story includes subjects that some readers might not enjoy so if a reader rather not read a story that involves rape among other things, this story might not be for you. I enjoyed this high school romance read and although these characters are young, some of them act more mature than their parents. I absolutely loved Allie. Her character dealt with so much and she handled it the best way she could. I absolutely hated her father Gerald and I wish he would have been killed off. I'm on the fence about Janessa. I want to blame her for her part in how she handled things but she wasn't the only one at fault. Gerald was not where he was needed. I enjoyed Roman, Dominique, Emilio and Aaron. They didn't always handle things in a mature way but how can I fault them when they are teenagers. That scene with Dom had my heart beating so fast. Especially with everything going on in the real world but you'll have to read the story to know what I'm talking about because I don't want to give anything away. I hated Silvia but I guess every school has to have a Queen B and her and her friends did not disappoint. I enjoyed Julio and I was happy his character made an appearance in this story. The story had a happy ending and Allie definitely deserved to be happy. I'm looking forward to reading the next book in this series and checking out other books from this author. I will be recommending this one to family and friends.

GoodReads Summary---
Roman Valdez is the Devil.

He sneers at me.
He hates me.
He wants to hurt me.

Let him try.

He thinks he’s untouchable. The self-appointed Devil of Sun Valley High.
But I’ve already lost everything and everyone I care about.
It’s me he should be afraid of. Not the other way around.
Because I have nothing left to lose, and he can’t break what’s already broken.

At least, that’s what I thought.

But when the Devil begins picking up the pieces, I realize while he might not break me. He can absolutely shatter me, heart and soul.

And I just might let him.

A very big thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for a chance to read and review this book early.

I am not a fan of bully romance to be honest but I was very excited to read something along the lines of high school drama quiet lately and this was the perfect choice.

I really enjoyed Roman and Allie's story and all the secondary characters at Sun Valley High made for an interesting bunch. To be more precise, I couldn't put it down and finished it in less than 24 hours. I highly recommend it if you like high school bully romance. It was worth my time.

Happy reading.

Thank you Victory Editing NetGalley Co-op for the advanced reading copy. I voluntarily read and reviewed this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I just recently got into high school romance after falling hook and sinker with Rina Kent's high school romance series.

While I don't think this is quite up on the same par, this is still a fantastic read! I did expect it to be dark and it is, but not the kind that I was expecting. Some may find some scenes disturbing and triggering so think long and hard before you decide to read this because there is a rape scene involved.

As far as bullying goes, there isn't plenty. I wouldn't consider Roman and his group of Devils a bully. I would say they are...influential. But then again I have never been the recipient of any type of bullying during my school days (fortunately!) so my outlook on bullying may be unfair.

The story is pretty addictive. I finished the entire thing in less than 24 hours. I was hooked completely. I love the setting of the story and all the characters bring color to the story. Yes, even the meanies. I love the camaraderie between the Devils and I half expected them to be mean jocks but they turned out to be quite the sweethearts.

Highly recommended!

I devoured Wicked Devil today!
This New Adult Romance was hard to put down! I could not get enough of the characters in this story. Allie along with the Devils; Roman, Emilio and Dominique are an interesting bunch. Allie being new to town after the terrible loss of her mother and stumbling upon this crew at Sun Valley High made for a great read. I love a good alpha character who gets knocked off balance when that one woman comes into his life and turns everything upside down. This happens to Roman the minute he lays eyes on Allie. Their story is messy and complicated and kept me turning each page to see how it would come together in the end.

I look forward to the next book in the series!

This was a pretty fun and quick read.
I liked the first half of the book a lot, I enjoyed the banter and flirting between Allie and Roman, the interactions between her and the Devils overall, and Allie as a protagonist. She was really likable and relatable and it was easy to connect with her. I didn't always like her "I'm not like other girls' attitude, but I wasn't too bothered by that.
I didn't like the second half of the book as much. I felt like the rape storyline was rushed and didn't really do anything for the plot except the shock factor. It was resolved too quickly for my liking and Allie's trauma didn't seem like it was properly addressed.
Overall this was an entertaining read though and I enjoyed the easy writing style and how quick it was to get through.

This book really took me by surprise and I'm still thinking about the ending now.

The story is a high school romance, but with a few twists, but I certainly will not give away any spoilers. The reason I have decided to go for 3 instead of 4 stars is just because I felt a few things were missing from the story. For instance, Allie never really started to deal with the grief from her mum or that there was no closure from the twist.

That said, Romero's writing is fantastic and it was definitely a fast paced read that I read cover to cover in one sitting. This is well worth a read to any lover of the genre!

This book had been an emotional rollercoaster !! The author brought me with her into this story, with Allie, Roman and their friends !!
Allie had lived a happy life with her hardworking mom, but after her mom’s death, her biological father appeared out of nowhere and got custody of her. Allie was a happy girl, until life had took her mother from her. Her father want her to be someone she isn’t, and life at her new high school isn’t that great, especially after Roman had claimed her.
Roman is the high school bad boy with his 2 friends, Emilio and Dominique, they rules their high school and they have all the girls they want.
Roman will quickly claim Allie as his girl, and she’ll gain their protection, but things won’t be easy for her and he’ll do anything to protect her and be the man for her.
All of sudden, things will change between them, something happened to Allie, something that will make her life more broken that it already is!!!!

I really can’t wait for book 2 !!

I saw few mistakes, like for Dominique, at some point a letter was missing in his name.

Okay, WOW!! I was surprised at how much I enjoyed this book. Usually I'm not one for the high school bully romances but this one was different. Allie is a so easy to relate to. Dealing with the death of her mother and trying to heal her broken heart after being cheated on by her ex boyfriend she's just trying to get by without showing the world just how much pain she's in. I think we can all relate to putting on a smile to fool the masses into thinking everything is fine. Roman is your typical possessive bad boy that we all LOVE to read about. There were a few things in this book that I wish had gone differently and I wish we could have seen them more as a couple at the end but overall I really enjoyed this one!
