A super cute book without very much depth (not that it was needed, in this case!) I loved the cover and the premise; I found the pages within wanting. This is a book aimed at a VERY specific audience, and unless you are within that niche, you might not find what you're looking for. As it was, I happen to fit in that niche, and I liked it well enough.

I received an advanced copy of this book from the publisher through netgalley in exchange for an honest review. This book is an entertaining reading experience. It is a fun book on how to handle awkward social gatherings. Would I recommend reading this book to anyone and everyone, yes I would. This book is in stores for A$29.99{AUD}.

Whether you’re single or in a relationship, this book is hilarious and reminds me of the magazines I used to read as a teen. Funny anecdotes and tips, this was fun, light-hearted read.

I thought this was HYSTERICAL. You’ll laugh out loud so many times. Even though I’m in a relationship, I found myself agreeing with certain things! It’s a how to guide on how to be single and revel in it. I thought it was great!

I LOVED this book!! Its perfect for people like me who are always in those awkward situations when people start asking about your love life especially me being in my 20s. Its all I ever get is asking if I am dating anyone etc. Great great book!!!

This book is really geared towards an audience of 20-30 years old, in my opinion. Therefore, it didn't really keep my interest. I DNF about 40% through it. I do think it would be interesting to the right age group.

I don’t really have anything to say about this one?? It wasn’t super memorable to me. It was kind of an interesting read, but not interesting enough for me to keep going with it. DNFed at about 30%.

This was an empowering read for those who are young and single.

I didn't really like this book as much as I wish I could have. It felt like it was written too forcefully, as paragraphs were long in some parts where they could have been cut shorter. I didn't like how the book felt like it was rambling on and on at times.

I wish I would have read this book when I was younger and single because then I think I would've enjoyed it more and could have gotten more use out of it.

It's definitely geared toward a specific audience and while it's not a novel type book, I would recommend it to anyone 20-25 who is newly single and/or struggling to embrace their single years. It's funny and relatable and the interactive activities/games included were a unique and fun aspect of the book that I think will be appreciated for that generation.

Single and Forced to Mingle by Melissa Croce is a guide for people needing a how-to guide on how to re-enter the regular world. As we all get vaccinated and start to go back into the world, this is just the guide we all need, particularly for those uncomfortable situations that families (and sometimes well meaning friends) put us in. If introverts need this guide, can we make an equally pointed guide for people to learn not to ask personal questions, no matter how entitled they feel?

Single and Forced to Mingle is a cute guide that´s lighthearted and sweet. It does a great job in reaffirming the reader´s choices. It walks the reader through all sorts of cringeworthy situations that might set your teeth on edge. It has plenty of quips and one-liners that keep the reader giggling.

This is a cute gift book for your single friends.

I loved this book because it made fun of all the things single people hear from their relatives and friends who can’t fathom the idea of an adult single person. “When are you going to settle down?” “Don’t you want kids?” “You’re not getting any younger.” It turns all of these on their head and says “and your point is??” This book is fun, sarcastic, and a quick read.

In a world that is constantly giving the impression that you're not truly complete until you're happily paired off with someone, we need fun books like this. Really, when it comes to any book about being single: only books like this one should be allowed to exist. By which I mean the ones that emphases that not only is there nothing wrong with being single but it has many positive attributes and hardly anything to be devastated about..
It's a humorous look at something that many who have no problem with their single status, but are surrounded by those who don't agree, have to endure.

This was a fun read! I’m not single but I still really enjoyed this quick read. I liked the little quizzes throughout and how engaging it was. It definitely made me laugh a few times and I appreciated the humour. I loved that the author pointed out that boomers were the ones who gave us the participation trophies while also calling us out on being “the generation so used to participation trophies”. This book was a lot of fun and I enjoyed it.

This was a cute guide! I expected it to be more advice driven, but it ended up being a lighthearted guide that made me see the joy in being single. This was such a fun read! Melissa Croce must be about my age because I related to so much of what she wrote about. One of the real challenges to being newly single is the feeling and fear of being along. Getting through a pandemic can feel like a lonely experience, and let me tell you that going through a break-up DURING a pandemic is a special level of hell. This book reminded me that being single can be a fun period in one’s life. It helped me to laugh at the awkward situations and to be grateful for the freedoms that I have as a single lady. It was a pretty quick read and I LOVED the quizzes she included. I would love to hear her take on online dating/dating apps since that’s about all I can do right now.

I so badly wanted to like this book. I thought the title, the cover, and the general concept of this book was a fantastic idea. Unlike the era of our parents, it's becoming the norm to live your 20s, establish your career, travel, and not settle down till your 30s. That's not really the case for everyone, but generationally women are more accepting of where everyone is at in life, even if it's not what they would personally want for themselves. But how do you brush off generation X, aka your parents, aunts and uncles or the boomers, aka your grandparents from the repetitive question of "when are you getting married?", "when are you giving me grandkids", or in the spanish culture, "Y el novio/novia?" Grrr. So when I saw this title I immediately requested it. I was so happy to be approved right away. It's a fast read for sure, which I enjoyed. Overall, I didn't hate it, as I think she had some really great points to make, but it started to feel repetitive really quickly. 2 stars for the cover, the concept and the title.

This was a really nice easy chill read that made me laugh quite a lot. I was reading it while quarantining, single of course, so that made the book all that more enjoyable. A lot of its content felt relevant and relatable to the situation many of us surely find ourselves. There was a few stuff here and there that I didn't agree with or found funny but otherwise it was a a great read! What I enjoyed the most were few interactive parts like quizzes or even recipes! Whether you are single or in a relationship, I'm sure you would enjoy this book.

Are you newly single and in need of a highly entertaining, pick-me-up kind of book? Then look no further, this is definitely the book for you. 𝐒𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐥𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐅𝐨𝐫𝐜𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐌𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐥𝐞: 𝐀 𝐆𝐮𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐅𝐨𝐫 𝐍𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐥𝐲 𝐀𝐧𝐲 𝐒𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐀𝐰𝐤𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐒𝐢𝐭𝐮𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 by Melissa Croce is the perfect good-spirited book that takes a carefree look at being single from a humorous, millennial perspective.

Croce’s frame of reference teeters between boldly embracing the notion that women are choosing to be single, to learning how to pick up the pieces after an unwanted uncoupling.

What makes this book so entertaining is it’s quirky content. For example, there is a whole list of days that single people should be sure to mark on their calendars to avoid being caught in awkward situations. These are days I never even heard of before😂. She even go so far as to provide suggestions for Halloween costumes, while giving you her restaurant suggestions for places to dine at based on how your relationship ended😂.

This is the ultimate single girl’s guide. It’s Carrie Bradshaw meets Bridget Jones, complete with an occasional Mad Libs fill in the blank paragraph, and impromptu quizzes.

I had fun reading this book. I’m not single, nor am I a millennial but that didn’t stop me from enjoying every word and every activity. Any time an author predicts your sexual interests based on the cartoons you’ve watched as a child (i.e. Ren and Stimpy, Rugs Rats, Doug and Hey Arnold), you know it’s a comical situation😂.

I’m giving this one 5⭐️s for the jovial factor alone! 𝐒𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐥𝐞 𝐀𝐧𝐝 𝐅𝐨𝐫𝐜𝐞𝐝 𝐓𝐨 𝐌𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐥𝐞 is wonderfully unique, spunky and bold. There’s no singing sad love songs in this book! Nope, instead there are ingredients for singles cocktails with names like “Dirty Hornitini” and “Screaming Orgasm”. Oh...and if you ever need a go-to list of explanations for why you’ve chosen to remain single, and why you have zero desire to have children, Melissa’s got you covered😉!

While I'm not the intended target audience for this book (at least not rn 😂), it was good and hilarious.

I enjoyed the quizzes and work activities though. Plus the holiday's citations (I have no idea about some of the holidays mentioned in the book 😳). The movie guides and holiday activities ideas. And you'd agree with me that we all have an Aunt Carol 😂. And they never stop.

Whether you are single, in a relationship, or married, there's still something you'd enjoy about this one .

But here's my penny for your thought:

"Happiness isn’t due to your status."

I know, I know. Y'all are surprised again that I am reviewing another book that is not really romance. What can I say? I sometimes like to read different books at  times. And the book cover for Single and Forced to Mingle is so freaking cute! Like look at it.Single and Forced to Mingle was a fun read but it's more toward a younger audience like in your early 20s. It's about being comfortable while you are single. There is nothing wrong in being single but I know sometimes younger women will have problems or issues about being single. But I am going to let you know that relationships are not all that or setting for the wrong reasons. Be comfortable about being you. It's you first then someone else. And Single and Forced to Mingle will open your eyes about being single in the new year.

I think perhaps I thought this book was something different than what it turned out to be! It was more tongue-in-cheek humor about being single than it was actually applicable things - which is what I was thinking it was going to be when I went into it. But perhaps had I read the cover copy better before I started, my expectations would have been different. So my bad on that. I think also I haven't experienced a lot of what she talks about, so perhaps that affected my opinion and how I related to it too.
