This sweet Amish Candy Store features Bailey's cousin Charlotte. Charlotte is torn between two worlds - the Amish of her upbringing and the Englisch. She has been working at the store trying to decide what to do when she volunteers to manage the Candy Cane Exchange and she is thrilled. Her job is to tie the notes to a candy cane so they can be delivered to the recipients. Suddenly she finds anonymous notes addressed to her from a secret .admirer. She worries it might be Abel Esh, an Amish man who believes women should do all the work in his store and around the house. This is not what Charlotte wants and hope he is not trying to trick her. Charlotte is diligent about the mailbox and soon learns who her admirer is. A darling story, perfect for Christmas

This is a great novella in the Amish Candy Shop Series. This was a sweet mystery that focused on Charlotte and her task of handling the candy cane exchange. I've always loved Charlotte and the was the perfect book to learn more about her and her hopes and dreams.

It was well-written and a perfect read for a chilly winter afternoon. I'm looking forward to additional stories in the series.

Bailey’s business is busy as ever as Christmas approaches. Her cousin Charlotte offers to help with her online orders and Candy Exchange as it does not appear to be a difficult task. Soon Charlotte will find herself with a secret admirer as she tries to stop them.

She will turn to Sheriff Deputy Luke to help track down the person. Will she be run out of town when she finds out who it is and leave her Amish roots?

A delightful refreshing cozy read.

This novel is written from a point of view of Charlotte.

She takes on the task to be the coordinator of the Candy Canes exchange.
She has to take the note's with the money, from the candy canes exchange box, add the notes to the candy canes. Nothing could go wrong, or....

The money is for the clothes, for the nativity Christmas pageant.

When Charlotte, takes the notes from the box, she finds one addressed to herself, from a secret admirer.
Who will it be, Bernard Lapp from the Harvest Market, Abel Esh from Esh pretzelshop or maybee ...

It's a lovely mystery, by Amanda Flower.
I hope, Charlotte will get her own series

Thank you Kensington books and Netgalley for the ARC

I love the Amish Candy Shop Mystery series and Candy Cane Crime is no exception. Bailey is in NYC working on her cable show. So Charlotte is the narrator of this cute love story.

When Charlotte volunteers to collect and decorate Christmas notes with candy canes, she never expects to find her own secret admirer. Or could the odious Abel Esh just be pranking her?

Charlotte’s reluctance to leave her rumspringa behind and join the Amish has been an ongoing underlying theme in this series. Eight years is a long time to wait. But Charlotte is still hesitant. To distract herself, Charlotte volunteers to help with the town candy cane exchange fundraiser. She is convinced that she will have time even though Christmas is always busy at Swissmen Sweets.

Even though there is no murders in this book, there are plenty of mysteries to be solved. I’m so involved with the characters, after reading the entire series as they came out, I couldn’t wait to read this novella. Nothing can get you in a Christmas mood as well as another visit to Harvest, Ohio. If you love Christmas cozy mysteries, check out Candy Cane Crime. 4 stars!

Thanks to Kensington Books and NetGalley for a copy in exchange for my honest review.

Candy Cane Crime by Amanda Flower is the 5.5 novella in the Amish Candy Shop Mystery series, and another great addition. I really love this series, and am looking forward to the next book in the series. This story is about Bailey King's cousin Charlotte, and takes place over the Christmas holiday. The town is having a fund raiser, and Charlotte is in charge. People can pay a $1, and send a candy cane and a message to someone in town. When Charlotte starts getting notes for herself, from a secret admirer, she is determined to find out who it is. I love the quirky people and situations in this book. I found this book to be a quick read, with a well developed plot and characters. If you love cozy mysteries, I highly recommend this book/ series.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

This is a fun Christmas novella, 5.5 in the Amish Candy Shop series. I like this series in general, but this book was a fun and light read. It's told from Charlotte's perspective, she's the Amish girl in the shop who hasn't fully committed to her Amish upbringing. It was a cute mystery/romance and I really liked it, I enjoyed seeing the town from Charlotte's point of view.

4 stars.

Thanks to NetGalley and Kensington Books for the ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This is a novella. Bailey’s cousin Charlotte volunteers to help orchestrate the annual Candy Cane Exchange. While collecting the messages to be attached to the candy canes, Charlotte sees some have been written directly to her. Thus, begins our non-violent, non-death mystery.

This brought Christmas and goodwill into my hectic life.

I was given an advanced reader’s copy. I am not required to leave a positive review.

This was a very cute, sweet, quick read. The characters are adorable, especially the animals. Who doesn't love a little pig and a camel? The mystery is simple but very sweet. Love the setting of Christmas in a village comprised of English and Amish. I haven't read other books in this series but will have to check it out. Learning the differences in the two cultures is fascinating. Really enjoyed this glimpse into the series.
I received a free copy of this book from Netgalley and the publisher and voluntarily chose to review it.

This is a cute, fast paced story that's nice to read during the holidays.
The story is told from Charlotte's POV and she's on the task of collecting notes and money for the Candy Cane Exchange. When she founds out some of the notes are for them, she wants to find out who's the secret admirer! There's no murder to solve, but a theft to solve.

Even though I have only read one other book in Amanda Flower's Amish Candy Shop Mystery series set in a family-run candy shop, Swissmen Sweets, I still jumped at the opportunity to read this one, Candy Cane Crime as I enjoy a well written cosy, and this looked like it fitted the bill.

Bailey King is a chocolatier in Harvest, Ohio, and also has a new cable TV show. Bailey is going to be in New York to promote her show so she hasn't the time for this year's fundraiser, the Candy Cane Exchange. The fundraiser is a Christmas project where community members put messages for loved ones along with a donation in a candy cane postbox, then the notes will be attached to candy canes to be delivered on Christmas Eve. Proceeds will help to replace the tatty Christmas pageant costumes. Bailey's cousin, Charlotte, keenly takes over running the Exchange until she starts receiving notes addressed to her from a secret admirer. She wants to know her admirer's identity and decides to do some sleuthing...

Although there is some character building in these stories I had no difficulties keeping up with characters and events, and this book can be enjoyed as an individual novella. The plot was fun and lively and although there were no dead bodies or a murder to solve, I was rewarded with an opportunity to get to know Cousin Charlotte better. Events moved along at a comfortable pace and in the end, everything connected in a neat Christmas package. I had a blast reading this highly entertaining cozy novella. I'm already looking forward to catching up with the folk from Harvest in book #6, Lemon Drop Dead, as well as grabbing copies of the books I've missed.

I received a complimentary copy of this novel at my request from Kensington Books via NetGalley. This review is my own unbiased opinion.

Thank you to NetGalley and Kensington Books for kindly providing me with a digital copy of this book for review.
This is a fun little book, perfect reading for Christmas time. I’ve got a few friends who are huge fans of the Amish Candy Shop Mystery series and it has been on my TBR since they started to rave about it. This has been a wonderful little taster and I don’t think I’ve been spoiled for the other books in the series, which I will definitely make a priority now.
This is packed full of Christmas charm and of course it is very sweet and clean with the Amish setting. There’s nothing that is going to shock you here, just give you a lovely cozy cuddle. In amongst all the Christmas hullabaloo, I often feel that is exactly what I want and need. Definitely recommend.

This holiday themed novella is the perfect, light story to hold me over until another book drops in this wonderful series. Harvest, OH is preparing for Christmas and the candy shop is definitely bustling with holiday shoppers. Perfect time to have a fundraiser ... right? Margot has come up with the idea to host a Candy Cane Exchange. With their donation, residents can send a sweet note attached to a candy cane to whomever they wish to surprise with a smile this festive season. Bailey’s cousin, Charlotte, takes over the tedious task and quickly realizes she has a secret admirer. The story followers her as she narrows down the possible love interests and unveils a thief along the way.

Being a fan of the series, I love these quick novellas because it allows the reader to get to know a few more side characters better. Charlotte is a great lead and I believe she is going to have to make a decision awfully fast on staying Amish or becoming English. It was nice to see more scenes with Uriah and Luke as well. I also liked Bernard. I hope to see him again in future stories.

If you enjoyed the last Christmas themed story, Premeditated Peppermint, you will be thrilled to see our favorite cantankerous camel, Melchior, has returned yet again and his scenes are fantastic. Of course, Jethro can’t help but make a fun appearance too.

The book concluded with a recipe for Charlotte’s Peppermint Popcorn.

Looking forward to book 7, Lemon Drop Dead, which’s set to come out in April.

This is the 5th installment in this charming cozy mystery series. I have read the entire series and always love returning to this series especially for the holiday theme releases. This is such a fun read that I read in one sitting. Thank you to the publisher and to Net Galley. My review opinions are my own. The author is a beloved cozy mystery author that creates such vibrant charcters and fun settings in Amish Country each book is a delight from start to finish. This is a short novella telling the story from the perspective of Bailey's cousin Charlotte.
Charlotte has left the strict Amish religion of her parents and works with Bailey in the candy shop. When she participates in a Xmas tradition she finds she has a unknown suitor and the mystery deepens.

I loved this novella that further explores Charlotte and her new role in the shop and living life without the confines of the Amish religion. Its a very fun addition to this series.

The shepherds need new clothes. Harvest’s annual Christmas pageant on the square is approaching and the shepherds’ wardrobe is threadbare. Margot Rawlings’ fundraising idea is a Candy Cane Exchange. She is at Swissmen’s Sweets trying to pressure Bailey King into taking on the job. But Bailey’s candy commitments at the shop and for her cable show Bailey’s Amish Sweets leave Bailey no time for the candy cane exchange. Charlotte, Bailey’s Amish cousin, volunteers for the job. Margot is satisfied, Bailey is unsure, and Charlotte is happy to help out her adopted community of Harvest. Charlotte moved to Harvest to escape her own district. Charlotte is conflicted about baptism into the church and this volunteer job is about to complicate those feelings.
Charlotte’s job is to attach the notes to the candy canes. She must also log the person requesting the candy cane, the person receiving the candy cane, the address and payment. This means Charlotte must read all the notes. When she reads a note addressed to her, she doesn’t know what to do. How can she have a secret admirer? She isn’t a member of the Amish community. Over the next few trips to retrieve more notes, she finds several more addressed to her. Unable to live with not knowing her secret admirer’s identity, Charlotte goes on a stake-out, and solves not just one, but two, mysteries.

This novella is told from Charlotte’s point of view. It’s a fun take on the Amish Candy Shop mysteries. Those are in Bailey’s point of view and it’s fun to hear from Charlotte again. (Criminally Cocoa is also told from Charlotte’s point of view.)
Candy Cane Crime is a good book to get a reader into the Christmas spirit with the candy canes, the candy cane exchange, twinkling lights, and lots of snow. Melchior the camel is back to play his part in the Christmas pageant. He also takes on crime fighting as well.
I enjoyed reading this book. It’s always great to revisit the town and people of Harvest, Ohio.

Oh this was just so much fun!!! A candy-cane exchange!! HOW fun!!

This book is from Charlotte's POV and I do love her story. And this one is really good because you realize that she may be, finally, getting close to making her decision about whether or not she is staying or leaving the Amish. What is really great about these stories is how respectful the author is of the Amish and in this one, that shines through. She shows how difficult it has been for Charlotte to leave her family [that she loved, but that was oppressive and overbearing], knowing that she will more-than-likely never speak to them again and how grateful she is for her cousins Clara and Bailey for loving her and accepting her, no matter what she chooses - which is not always the case for those who decide to leave the Amish, so I am glad that in this case, Charlotte has family that will love her, no matter what.

There is no murder in this book [YAY!!], but there is a mystery [that you just need to read to find out what it is] and it is fun and sweet and makes for a lovely Christmasy read. And have no fear, Jethro the Pig makes an appearance as does Melchior the Camel [if you have read previous books, you will remember him!!], and there is a brief appearance of Millie the Matchmaker [who gets to smack Juliet down a little; in a loving, caring, way of course! ;-) ]. It is such a wonderful little story and it was so lovely to have this after some rather tough reads.

Set in Harvest, Ohio at Christmas time. Swissmen’s Sweets is super busy. Charlotte agrees to coordinate the candy cane note fundraiser for the town. She finds notes for herself and they are from a secret admirer.
The mystery for the story is identity of Charlotte’s secret admirer.
This is a cute story. Jethro enjoys the snow. Bailey makes an appearance at the beginning. Abel Esch plays a role. There is a nice Amish man named Bernard and there is Deputy Little.
I enjoy these simple in between mysteries in the Amish Candy Shop mysteries where Charlotte gets a chance to shine.

When Margot tries to strong arm Bailey into taking care of the Candy Cane Exchange, Charlotte volunteers to take care of the exchange. Charlotte finds that a few of the peppermint canes are being sent to her by a secret admirer. She believes her secret admirer is one of two men: Benjamin from the local market and Abel from the pretzel shop. Uriah from Flower's Amish Matchmaking series joins Charlotte on a stakeout to help her find out the identity of her secret admirer. I hope there are more novellas within The Amish Candy Shop and The Amish Matchmaking series. It is nice to see a mystery solved that doesn't involve a murder. Now the money we want to know the answer to is which path is Charlotte going to take?
