I received a copy of Candy Cane Crime through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Candy Cane Crime is a novella that is part of the Amish Candy Shop Mystery series. In Candy Cane Crime, Charlotte finds herself in charge of collecting and assembling the notes for the town’s Candy Cane Exchange. When gathering the letters Charlotte discovers she has a secret admirer. While trying to figure out the identity of her admirer she stumbles upon someone messing with the Candy Cane Exchange.

I love the whole Amish Candy Shop Mystery series, characters, setting, and everything about the series. I’m am used to Bailey being the main character, but loved being able to read Charlotte’s story this time around. It was also a pleasant change to read about Charlotte’s potential love life inside of trying to find a murderer. Candy Cane Crime was a refreshing take in this series and I loved it! I especially loved the Christmas setting and could picture the lovely town square. This was a great novella that added to an already wonderful series!

Not much longer than a short story, this sweet story centers around a young woman's uncertainty about taking the final step to become an Amish woman. The storyline is about the town's fundraiser and some hijinks going on that need to be resolved. I liked it very much.
I requested and received a free ebook copy from Kensington Books via NetGalley.

Charlotte is put in charge of collecting money and notes for the candy cane sale to raise money for new costumes for the Nativity parade. When Charlotte finds an anonymous note in the box for her she doesn't know what to make of it. But when notes for her keep showing up she is determined to find out who her secret admirer is.

I just love the characters in this series! Even the animal characters! Of course Jethro the pig made an appearance. I like that Charlotte seems to have a nose for mystery as well as Bailey. And while I love a good murder mystery, and those have tended to follow Bailey around, it was nice to see that not every mystery has to involve a dead body. As with the other books in the series there is a recipe at the end of the story. I can't wait to try it for Christmas this year! mmmmm!

I have not read Amanda Flower's Amish Candy Shop Mystery Series, but I had no trouble following along with the gentle and sweet characters in this book. I loved that it was a non-traditional cozy — no murder — and felt that worked well with the Christmas storyline. After all, who wants to read about death during the holidays? The mystery revolves around Charlotte, who in charge of a holiday note exchange paired with candy cane deliveries. She discovers that some of the notes are for her, from a secret admirer. I'm a romance genre lover so this was right up my alley. If you enjoy sweet and gentle cozy mysteries with a touch of romance, you'll adore this short book.

Christmas is coming and Swissmen Sweets is busy! With Bailey heading off to New York to do some promotional work for her show and her cousin Charlotte volunteers to take on a holiday project for the Mayor. In order to raise funds for new costumes for the annual Harvest Live Christmas Nativity a Candy Cane Exchange is scheduled and Charlotte is making sure the notes get to the recipient along with a candy cane. When Charlotte finds some notes addressed to her, she is determined to find out who her secret admirer is…and it may force her to finally make her decision on whether to be baptized in the Amish faith or to become an Englischer once and for all.

I love novellas in between the big releases and this one being told from Charlotte’s point of view is a nice change for a quick sweet fix before the next book is released next year. A sweet series that always delivers, it’s perfect for cozy lovers and Amish lovers.

Be still my beating heart! It is Christmas in Harvest, Ohio and both the Amish and English alike are feeling the energy that comes during the holiday season. Bailey King is away from Swissmen Sweets doing some publicity for her TV show, and that leaves her Grandma Clara, Cousin Charlotte, and shop employee Emily busy while she is way. Taking on the job of running the candy cane exchange for Margot, the towns event coordinator (think of a female Taylor Doose from Gilmore Girls for a small glimpse into Margot's personality and style - someone you just can't say no to), Charlotte Weever takes her role very seriously. Dutifully checking the candy cane exchange box for letters she is shocked when she discovers a note addressed to her from a secret admirer. Unsure how to take this discovery, Charlotte attempts to uncover the identity of the note writer.

This is another amazing instalment of the Amish Candy Shop Mystery series. The coziness of Harvest, Ohio amidst the sparkling snow and Christmas festivities will leave readers with a soft squishy feeling inside. As a novella it is a quick read, and will be a great "pick me up" when you get caught in the business of the holiday season yourself. I am so excited to read more about Harvest, Ohio and the community in Holmes County. The development of Charlotte as a character has been enjoyable to see, and having a glimpse into some of her internal struggles makes for an empathetic character. Will she finally make the big decision on how she will spend the rest of her life?

This book is a very cute and fun mystery cozy. The characters are friendly and the pig is an extra treat. The story is quite sweet. Charlotte volunteers to run the candy cane exchange fundraising to make enough to get costumes for the manger play. It turns out to be quite successful and Charlotte receives a few addressed to her from a secret admirer. Now she has a mystery on her hands. This was actually a super read. I would recommend it.

Got to love a book with a cute pig on it.
A fun Christmas secret admirer story.
Part 5.5 of the Amish Candy Shop Mystery series.
This one focuses on cousin Charlotte.
A fun quick read that can be read alone. I recommend reading whole series, because it's good

While this is a self contained novella and has a sweet Christmas story, I don't think new to the series readers will get much out of it.

I was surprised and happy to find that it's from Charlotte's perspective. I enjoyed it for the different POV. The cover may lead you to believe this is a Jethro (the pig) based story, however he just has a very short cameo.

I, as someone who's read all the full length novels, enjoyed the story and Charlotte's POV though if you don't pick this one up you wouldn't miss much. I'm sure the one new element that comes up will continue in future books.

I loved this short entry into the Amish Candyshop series.

Bailey's innocent cousin Charlotte is tasked with running a candy cane exchange and discovers she has a secret admirer!
This would be great but it's a cozy mystery, so....
I love the characters in this series so much!

This is a new to me author but I was able to get this book through NetGalley and I just loved it. Started and finished it in one sitting.

Bailey owns a candy shop and hosts a tv show as well. She also solves crimes so when one of the women in the town came to her and asked her to take on the Candy Cane Exchange she said she was just too busy so her cousin Charlotte decided to take it on.

The candy Cane Exchange is where you pay $1 and your note to someone special to you is put on a candy cane and delivered to them for Christmas. She takes this new job seriously and she discovers some of the notes are addressed to her from a Secret Admirer. So she goes through town trying to figure out who that could be.

A well written story with a great cast of characters. A must read if you like Christmas books. Now I need to check out more stories by Amanda Flowers.

Through NetGalley, I received a free copy of CANDY CANE CRIME (An Amish Candy Shop Mystery Short Story) by Amanda Flower in exchange for an honest review. Between her television show, the usual Christmas candy business boom, and the additional business attributable to her television show, Bailey King has no time and zero patience left. So, when the town event coordinator thanks Bailey for the handmade candy canes she finagled Bailey into creating for a Christmas Pageant fundraiser by trying to put Bailey in charge of the entire fundraiser, Bailey refuses, and refuses, and is about to refuse rudely when sweet Cousin Charlotte intervenes and volunteers for the task. Charlotte learns she is to retrieve messages from a central drop off, make sure the messages include payment, attach the messages to a candy cane, and drop them off at the church in time for the youth group to deliver the seasonal greetings. After retrieving the initial batch of messages, Charlotte discovers a sweet and anonymous note addressed to her and is soon stalking the drop off hoping to identify her admirer. However, being out and about in the nasty weather reveals somethings shady. When confronted with the truth about some members of the local Amish community and about the identity of her secret admirer, Charlotte is faced with the reality that it may be time to make some decisions about her future.

I enjoy this series and really like these short stories featuring Charlotte. I recommend the series to fans of cozy mysteries featuring Amish, candy shops, small towns, quirky pets, and prejudice.

Candy Cane Crime was a nice little Christmas Amish cozy mystery. It is a quick read with well written characters and a fun Candy Cane theme. The story is about the woman who takes over the Candy Cane note project only to start finding notes addressed to her in the box. Soon she is staking out the post box waiting to catch a glimpse of her secret admirer. It is a fun quick read.

I love that you get to know more about others characters in this book. Charlotte and Luke are both great characters that you get to know better!

This novella, part of the Amish Candy Shop series, is Charlotte's story where previously it's all been from Bailey's POV. Instead of a murder mystery, we have a sweet mystery for Charlotte to solve. Readers of this series will know the answer to the mystery right away, so if you're looking for something hard to solve you'll need to look elsewhere. But as with all of Amanda Flower's books, it is definitely worth a read!
Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher and the author for this digital ARC. All opinions are my own. This review can also be found on my Goodreads page.

This story is told from the perspective of Charlotte, Bailey’s cousin.
Charlotte is pleased to take on the task of collecting notes and money for the Candy Cane Exchange.
When she discovers some of the notes are meant for her, she spends her time tryin to discover her secret admirer.
Even though there wasn’t a murder investigation, a crime was still committed and Charlotte is determined to find the answers.

This is a cute, fast paced story, filled with great characters.

Candy Cane Crime is the 5.5 book in the Amish Candy Shop Mystery series.

Once again, Bailey’s cousin, Charlotte, steps to the front in this novella.

Christmas is just a few days away and Bailey is busy finishing up on mail orders for her family’s delicious sweets. The success of her TV show, Bailey’s Amish Sweets has had everyone very busy keeping up with store sales and mail orders. Bailey is putting the finishing touches on the last of the day's orders, when the last person she wants to see, Margo, approaches Bailey. Margo has organized a Candy Cane Exchange, to raise money for new costumes for the Christmas Manger cast. Bailey has already provided the candy canes and now Margo wants her to attach the notes folks will put in the Candy Cane Exchange box. Bailey explains that she will be leaving for New York City to meet with people from her cable show and won’t be able to help. Charlotte overhears this conversation and says she would be happy to take over and attach the notes to a candy cane and have them to the church on Christmas Eve so they can be delivered by the youth group.

Charlotte is anxious to start her job, so after closing Swissmen Sweet’s, she walks through the newly fallen snow to the square to check if there are any notes. There are and she is most surprised to find one for her from a “secret admirer”. She will receive several more. Charlotte is so surprised that she has an admirer and has no idea who that might be an Englischer or an Amish man.

No murders in the book, but there is a theft, and Charlotte will play a part in the apprehension of the thief.

It’s always a joy to visit with the folks of Harvest, Ohio.

Includes a delicious-sounding recipe.

Also, a sneak peek at the second book in An Amish Matchmaker Mystery series,

Told from the perspective of Charlotte, Bailey's 22 year old cousin, this book by Amanda Flower has all the makings of a great plot. Whereas a murder has not committed, there is still a crime and other issues to solve. The story, set at Christmastime is perfect for any time of year. The characters are always pleasant to visit with and the twists and turns keep you reading.. Not only that, but who couldn't resist a cute Jethro on the cover?

An easy and fun Christmas read. This one is a little different than the others in the series, since it doesn't focus on Bailey, but instead it focuses on her cousin Charlotte. She volunteers to be in charge of the candy cane exchange, and discovers notes addressed to her from her secret admirer. With a few men to chose from, she is not sure who it can be from. No murder in this one, just a theft. And of course Jethro the pig shows up a few time as well. Highly recommend this one, and it should put you in the holiday mood.
