This book was an adorable history of Thanksgiving and why we have the traditions we do. I especially liked that every other line rhymed. The illustrations were nicely done by the author's 86 year old grandmother and added wonderful touch to the story. I would purchase this one for my classroom. Nicely done!
When you read that an adult grandson wrote this book and asked his grandmother to illustrate it, it bumps up the likability for sure. Overall this book is a cute and informative rhyming overview about why we eat turkey for Thanksgiving. It doesn't go into too much detail, so it is good for younger readers. It would be a cute Thanksgiving book to add to your shelves.
I just reviewed Why Do We Eat Turkey on Thanksgiving? by Nicholas Scarpino. #WhyDoWeEatTurkeyonThanksgiving and it is a pleasant read. Usually fun for me as I am much of a self-help and very scrutinized texts' devourer but I am glad I picked it up and got a very light yet enjoyble read.
I read this book last night and I thought that it was lovely.
I really liked the end of the book too where it gave the detail of the inspiration for the book and it is such a wonderful thing that the grandmother and grandson have come together with the book to share their family tradition – the images are so lovely I am really glad they wanted to share this with us.
It is 5 stars from me for this one, very highly recommended!
