Something about this story just seemed too “off” for me—not very realistic. I know a person who bombs buildings without a care for the loss of life is a crazy person, but the scenarios (as presented) just didn’t seem quite right. I like the heroine – Jackie – well enough, but she didn’t really grab me. The hero—Detective Avery—was a good guy who even has a good relationship with his ex-wife. It just seemed a little too good to be true to me. I had figured out the bomber’s identity even though the clues seemed to lean towards someone else. All in all, I guess I am not sure what I think about the story. The insights into South Texas culture and history were quite interesting, if a bit too detailed.

This is a well written book that hooks you on the first page. It's full of drama, suspense and will keep you on the edge of your seat. I finally found a book that I didn't know who the bad guy was until they told it. This is a book you don't want to miss. Thank you Thomas Nelson--FICTION via NetGalley for the ARC copy of this book. This was not my favorite book by this author. Lots of characters to keep up with. The motives for the bombings did bring to front the crazy reasons people have for paybacks. A host of different topics including climate change and PTSD were thrown in. The one thing I really like was the promotion of libraries and what a difference they make in a community.

Wow! This book made me keep turning to the pages to find out who the bomber is. This is a new author to me and a genre that I don't normally read, but I really enjoyed this book! There was a lot of suspense entwined with a lot of drama! I definitely enjoyed it! I loved that she was a librarian as well.

Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for the arc. The opinions are my own

This is a quick read which I received free on Kindle from Netgalley for review. It is a character driven novel with little setting, but still the characters are somewhat interesting. Try this one on a snowy evening cuddled under a warm blanket.

2.5/5⭐️

This is a faith-based thriller centered around finding a serial bomber in San Antonio.

I wish I had connected more with this one. Too many cliches, too predictable, weird twists and turns and a romance that didn’t feel real to me. And the characters’ emotional responses felt a bit off at times. At the risk of being too harsh, the writing also felt uneven. I felt like some good editing could tighten it up and make it flow more smoothly. But in the end it just didn’t do much for me.

My thanks to #NetGalley and #ThomasNelson for providing me the free early ARC. The opinions are strictly my own.

Jackie Santoro isn’t your typical cat-lady librarian. Sure, she has cats and has no love life, but her superpowers include organizing library events that bring people, cultures, and ideas together. When a bomb goes off at the climate change conference she organized, Jackie finds herself a prime suspect.

Detective Avery Wick doesn’t want to suspect the beautiful librarian of planting a bomb at her own event, but the San Antonio Police Department has a shortlist of suspects. And the list of the dead includes the person responsible for Jackie’s father’s suicide. In other words, Jackie has a motive and no one else looks likely as a suspect.

Avery can’t argue with Jackie’s question as to why she’d plant a bomb that kills her best friend, and he feels honor-bound to either clear her name or prove her guilt. Meanwhile, bombs keep going off, and the death toll mounts. If Aver and Jackie work together, they may be able to find the guilty party before more people lose their lives.

Why I Loved This Book

Kelly Irvin’s heart-stopping suspense kept me turning pages late into the night. Sleep? Who needs it? If you love books by David Baldacci or John Grisham, you’ll love Irvin’s books. Her characters struggle with dangerous circumstances and real-life problems of faith, relationships, and tragedy.

I’d lend this book to non-believing friends because the story is just that good. Irvin never preaches and manages to introduce questions of faith in a natural way that never seems heavy-handed.

Her Every Move is a contemporary suspense novel written by Kelly Irvin.

Summary: Someone just blew up the building Jackie Santoro was in. She survives, but is immediately labeled the prime suspect in the attack.

Detective Avery is determined to find out who committed this horrific crime. Everything points to Jackie-but did she do it? He has to move fast to follow the clues-before more people die.

My Thoughts: If you are looking for action, this book is jam-packed. If you are looking for any type of realistic storyline, this is not the book for you.

I definitely liked the fast-paced action, but I just couldn’t make myself buy into so much happening to one person, the bad guy, or the romance-none of it seemed remotely possible.

Even thought I have enjoyed many of this author’s books, this one definitely fell a little flat for me.

I would like to thank Thomas Nelson for providing me with a free digital copy of this book in exchange for my review. Thank you!

Her Every Move by Kelly Irvin was a romantic suspense with some unexpected plot twists.
I enjoyed that the main character, Jackie worked at the library and she was able to share / remind people the significance of libraries even in a digital world. Jackie also had some unusual family dynamics that added another dimension to the story. How each family member handles tragedy differently.

Avery is the detective that is investigating the bombing. Once again reminds you that you don’t want to be involved in something like this because you are automatically suspected of being involved. Avery was a good character and I liked him. I found Avery’s relationship with his ex-wife interesting.

I received this book from Netgalley. I was not required to write a positive review.

I was hoping for more, This plot was trite and predictable. I feel like I have read this book 50 times.

A decent read that I did stay interested in. It was a little confusing with jumping point of view but the ARC format may have contributed to that. The main thing I have a conflict about is that the Christian faith is treated as an add on just to get the Christian label. It felt forced and was not consistent throughout the book.. i did appreciate the lack of swearing that is usually in this genre so that was nice. Overall, middle of the road who dun it.

Wow! I know that I read the summary but I didn't think it would be so intense. I was drawn in and couldn't put it down, especially 2/3rds of the way through. One chaotic event after another. It has the explosions and guns that guys seem to enjoy and a little romance as well (not overdone). Remind yourself not to read super late at night or you might start to see shadows move or jump at little noises. Maybe that was just me. The answer seems to be clear but then there is a twist ending and all is not as it seems.

I did receive an ARC via Netgalley but I give my honest reviews.

“Her Every Move” by Kelly Irvin is a clean, romantic suspense novel. This novel was a little different subject matter than her previous novels. This one deals with a serial bombing. I didn’t enjoy this book as much as I have Kelly Irvin’s other novels. However, the ending totally floored me. I had no idea who the serial bomber was. I enjoy books with a good twist and surprise ending, so this definitely delivered in this area.

I received this book from the publisher through NetGalley for my honest opinion.

HER EVERY MOVE was the kind of book I did not want to end. Of the romance/suspense genre, it stood out in a few important ways. The character development was rich. The dialogue real. The romance started off slow and came around in a natural-not-forced kind of way.

This book was thrilling from start to finish- I couldn’t put it down! every page was gripping and fantastical- though i did wish for a far longer ending.

"Her Every Move" seems to be a stand-alone suspense book. Kelly Irvin writes books in two different genres, and I definitely think that she knows how to write thrillers. This book starts with a bang - a bomb goes off at the end of a climate change debate. There are two characters with the most scenes in this book. Jackie Avery is the librarian event coordinator who was in charge of organizing the debate as a community outreach. Avery Wick is a detective who gets charged with trying to solve who had set off the bomb.

Suspense elements: The author did a great job of making several characters be viable suspects. I could almost predict certain parts of the books, but I was also surprised several times. This book is one that should be read when extended time is available, as it was definitely hard to put down. The mystery part definitely was the majority of the storyline.

Family is definitely an important part of the book. Jackie's family is still struggling to recover from her Dad's suicide when it came to light that he had misappropriated funds. Some of them are managing to stick together - some are struggling with knowing how the family can still work. Friendship is also important to this book. Trying to support those who are going through hard times is a significant theme. Healthy and unhealthy ways of handing grief are parts of the plot.

The element of faith is mentioned throughout the book, Characters struggle to believe in God when He seems to allow tragedy. Rather than being preachy, the characters themselves demonstrate that those who continue to look for God are able to better handle suffering. Faith is not used as a band-aid.

There is a bit of romance involved several couples, but I would say that is a side note. The emphasis in this one is on forming strong relationships with those who are a part of your circle. Not every relationships worked, and this book takes an informal look as to what certain people were unable to stay together. For those who were able to stay together, the book shows that there were foundational steps that made those relationships successful.

What else was fascinating about the book was the setting of San Antonio. The places around the city were an important part of the storyline. Latin culture (including Dios de las Muertos) was also brought to life. I could tell that the author was familiar with what she included.

This book also emphasizes that importance of libraries even in today's technological world. These locations are no longer simply book storage sites. Libraries are the places were communities come together. As one who frequents libraries often, I liked the fact that this book almost paid tribute to their hard work.

Overall I really enjoyed this book. There were many layers to the plot that added interest to this story. I did not think the book felt formulaic - instead the book felt unique and enjoyable. Thank you to Thomas Nelson for allowing me to read this book on NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Relatable characters, suspenseful story, a developing relationship, family dynamics and a librarian as lead character depending on her faith - what else would you need?

AHHHHHHHHHH this book was so so SOOO GOOD! I loved how long it was! I loved that I actually had NO CLUE who the bad guy was until they were revealed! It is rare that a book has me stumped so that was awesome! I did wish the guy didn't cuss so much but I appreciated the author not telling us what he said! I wished that the romance came before the very end so i could enjoy it. but boy howdy was that scene on the driveway with the basketball FIRE!!! LOVED IT!

HER EVERY MOVE....Kelly Irwin
Estrella loved politics and keeping them on time for their agendas. While Jackie’s coordinator for there special events for the speakers, the planning was the spice of the job she loved. Someone planted a bomb in a crowded auditorium., now Jackie being accused it was her fault.
Catering Ball is her next event a fund raiser, is there a serial bomber going to hit it. Still struggling with her father’s suicide and her mother.. She wants to clear her name. We have. Detective Avery watching her every move as a person of interest. Good characters showing the struggles both are dealing with as well as their jobs. Good flowing plot, and to figure out what is happening.
Given ARC for my voluntary review and my honest opinion
