Song for a Cowboy oozes tension and synergy between Emmy Lou and Brock. Misunderstandings, lack of communication and pride have kept the two apart. This is the second in a series and I wouldn’t recommend reading it as a stand alone since there was a lot of backstory to glean and I did get lost a few times. I thought Emmy was a bit weak. She’s almost 30 years old and still taking orders from her mother. Mommie Dearest would give Joan Crawford a run for her money. In fact, why did Any of the adults keep kowtowing to her? My favorite character was Aunt Mo. It’s a good read.

Sasha Summers’ Song for a Cowboy is the type of story that grabs a hold of you, literally jumping out catching you by surprise. With authentic and relatable characters you just may find your self turning the pages and reading the entire story in one sitting...like I did. This is the first book by this author I’ve read and am wondering why, as much as I devour books, I haven’t come across any other of her books before now. She’s truly a gifted story teller, the type that draws you in from the opening paragraph.

It was obvious to me that there was a story previous to this one involving the Krystal, but as previously stated, I hadn’t read it, yet Ms Summers did a remarkable job with the back story leading up to Brock and Emmy Lou’s romance. I thoroughly enjoyed the banter and repartee between the King siblings, with wry whit and dry humor the dynamics of this dysfunctional, yet loving family...despite forces to the contrary...was skillfully portrayed.

I truly hope that there will future stories for the King brothers...and for those who have read the first book in the King saga, but not this one yet, when I say brother in the plural, you’ll just have to read the story to find out what I mean.

This book has been in my pre-order since June - which is when I read Jace, the first book in this series. You don't have to read Jace to read this one as it is a stand alone, but I do recommend it as it is exceptionally good! Imagine my delight when NetGalley gifted me with an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review! I am so happy I don't have to wait until February to read this one, but now my wait for Country Music Cowboy (already pre-ordered) will feel like forever!

To the story, Emmy Lou (country music star) and Brock (pro football player) were high school sweethearts, but their relationship fell apart. Neither is sure what exactly happened to them. Emmy Lou is the new Carrie Underwood for the league! Of course she and Brock start running into each other-and spark still fly. This book is their journey back to each other a they figure out the past and decide if they have a future.

Both H and h have well fleshed out characters and both are very likable. There is no cheating, but a lot of misunderstandings. I highly recommend this book and give it a full 5 starts!

Good book! This book tugged on the heartstrings a little bit lol it was about a famous female country star and a hot bloody football star! It was definitely worth reading but not my top favorite! The storyline flowed nicely, but their mix up lasted a bit long for me! But all in all it was a good read! Thank you Netgalley and the publishers for sharing this book with me!
