Secrets of the Sacred Heart is a great introduction to devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus - its origin, meaning, value, and relevance. With pointed questions at the end of each chapter, it directs the reader to consider the devotion's importance in a life of faith. I'm grateful to the author for introducing me to the idea of Enthronement to the Sacred Heart and sharing her devotion with others. Recommended for Catholic families whether they already have a devotion to the Sacred Heart of not.

For those interested in the Sacred Heart devotion, this is an excellent introduction. I wish that the tine had been less breathlessly enthusiastic and gave me more theology.

I received an advance reader copy of this book to read in exchange for an honest review via Netgalley and Ave Maria Press.

Secrets of the Sacred Heart is an invitation to go deeper into the twelves promises of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. An introduction the twelves promises given to St. Margaret Mary is given including the historical writings by popes and saints over the years.

The book is organized by a chapter for each promise that includes personal insights, exploring the promise, pondering the promise and praying the promise. This format makes this book a wonderful option to use as a devotional. I spend the first hour of each day reading a devotion and praying. I found that covering a promise each morning and at the end of my day reflecting on it was a wonderful way of not just reading about the promises but striving to live them. The questions in the Pondering the Promise section were a great opportunity to reflect, I always enjoy guided questions.
Whether you are already familiar with the secrets of the Sacred Heart or you want to know more about them, this book is a wonderful option to increase one’s devotion. I definitely recommend it.

I’ve been reading this book as part of my daily spiritual reading, and I have learned a lot about the Sacred Heart. It is a beautiful mix of explanations of the promises of devotion to the Sacred Heart and prayers to enrich one’s devotion. I also really like that it has questions to help the reader reflect further on the promises, as well as practical applications for how to practice the devotion throughout daily life. This is a useful book for those curious about devotion to the Sacred Heart and for those who already practice the devotion. I highly recommend it!

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Secrets of the Sacred Heart by Emily Jaminet is a true treasure of a book. Jaminet invites the reader to experience a deep appreciation of a timeless devotion that can greatly enhance one’s spiritual life. She expertly combines revelations to St. Margaret Mary Alcoque with examples from her family’s life. In this way, the author not only informs but inspires. Secrets of the Sacred Heart is undoubtedly one of the best spiritual books I’ve read this year.

I have always been curious as to why Jesus would come to us in the form of his heart. After thinking about it and reading this book I think I understand. The heart is where Love is found. With that in mind this book makes a perfect way to find peace and a way forward.
Secrets pf the Sacred Heart offered to me a simple retreat that I did at home. Each chapter is focused on a promise of Jesus to those who focus their prayer on his heart and mercy. Its a progressive manner of doing one chapter at a time and thinking about the promise. Prayer is also a key but actually living the suggestions is OK too.I am still doing the work of this book as it is meant to be not only read but done in a good way.Its almost a self directed retreat, and can be looked at that way. Practical exercises and prayer are the key. This is an excellent book.
