Mountain Mistletoe Christmas is the story of two single parents in Mountain Springs Colorado. Jen Taylor has moved back to Mountain Springs and bought an old mansion for her and her son. She wants to open part of it as an art gallery, but needs enough renovated so that her son and she can live there when he returns from spending Christmas with his father. Jen hires Nick Bryant as her contractor and he agrees, but tells her that he needs to work around time with his daughter Amelia, who came to spend Christmas with her father when she and her boyfriend have a falling out. It doesn't take long for Jen and Nick to develop feelings toward one another and share their problems and issues. Jen is also trying to rebuild her relationship with her sister, who never liked her husband and felt abandoned by Jen. Nick and Amelia don't have a very good relationship as she feels he abandoned her when he and her mother got divorced, but Nick saw it that Amelia wanted to spend time with her mother and stepfather, as well as her friends than her father. Will Jen and Nick become more than just friends? Will Nick and Amelia be able to mend their relationship? Will Drew be happy in a small town after living in Denver for 12 years?
This was a sweet heartfelt story set at Christmas time. There really isn't anything else about Christmas besides that. Jen is a good MC, one who just wants to start over with her son and reconcile with her sister. She has a plan, but was hurt by her ex and I was surprised how quickly she fell for Nick. Although they didn't do much besides share a few kisses, meals and conversations, there was chemistry there. Nick has been divorced for 8 years and is not looking for a relationship. He is good at his job and I liked how he became friends with Jen and offered support. Both Jen and Nick were good parents and did what they did with their child's best interests at heart. There is that third act breakup, which was a bit frustrating as it seemed a bit contrived, but if she felt it necessary, then it was for her. When children are involved, a mother will do whatever she thinks is in the best interest of her child. If you enjoy a good story about single parents finding a new love and direction for their lives, then you might want to pick up Mountain Mistletoe Christmas.

This is a clean Christmas romance. I found this book just ok. I found that the two may character had so many problem/issues go on that I do not think they where developed. Their problems/issues where developed. I also do not think the romance was developed. This book was driven by the plot and the character problems. This is not my favorite type of book, but I did not think it was bad. Overall I think it was just ok. I was kindly provided an e-copy of this book by the publisher (Harlequin Heartwarming) or author (Patricia Johns) via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review about how I feel about this book, and I want to send a big Thank you to them for that.

The perfect book for the holiday season when you want to read a sweet story with wonderful characters and a storyline that holds your interest and warms your heart. I always enjoy any book by Patricia Johns, and look forward to her next one.
I received a copy of this book from the publisher. All opinions are my own.

This book was not for me. The chapters were long, there were several plot lines just left hanging, and the romance “began” at 91% of the way thru the book. The main characters, Jen and Nick were enjoyable and I enjoyed their growth but, again, the ending was so rushed it was very unbelievable. My favorite part of this whole book was envisioning the mansion that Jen lived in.

I liked this story. It moved a bit fast for the romance but the idea of keeping families together was a good storyline.

Jen moved into the house of her childhood dreams and got the help from local contractor Nick Bryant's help. Both are single parents that are dealing with a bit of messy divorces meaning that their children's are having a hard time dealing. Nicks daughter is now an adult but still there is some clear distance that needs to work out. Jen will be having christmas alone this year without her boy and its a bit tough.
There is so much to enjoy about this book. There is plenty of backstory and conflict between families that keep things interesting, not outright drama but some deeply rooted family resentment that needed to be solved and it was interesting seeing how that went and how it was tough on everyone. There was Jen who had to face that her ex is with a person who is not much older then her child and dealing with the move and sibling issues. Theres just so much to cover when it comes to family life. Then there was the relationship that was starting to form between Jen and Nick just little things here and there the attraction was real but there was so much going on they really couldn't so much about that but I liked seeing it. Overall pretty good book, plus great for the holiday season because there are scenes here and there and it is during christmas time so maybe reading this family's romance and drama will keep you busy.
