Another stellar novel from M.A. Hunter. Third in the series and the plots get better and better. I was on the edge of my seat all the way through and love the dynamic between Emma and Jack. The author handles the theme sensitively and is adept at eliciting emotional responses from readers.

I must firstly apologise for the amount of time it has taken me to provide me review of this book, my health was rather bad for quite some time, something that had me in hospital on numerous occasions and simply didnt leave me with the time I once had to do what I love most.

However, I am now back to reading as before and look forward to sharing my honest reviews as always going forward. I thank you f0r the patience and understanding throughout x

Due to a sudden, unexpected passing in the family a few years ago and another more recently and my subsequent (mental) health issues stemming from that, I was unable to download this book in time to review it before it was archived as I did not visit this site for several years after the bereavements. This meant I didn't read or venture onto netgalley for years as not only did it remind me of that person as they shared my passion for reading, but I also struggled to maintain interest in anything due to overwhelming depression. I was therefore unable to download this title in time and so I couldn't give a review as it wasn't successfully acquired before it was archived. The second issue that has happened with some of my other books is that I had them downloaded to one particular device and said device is now defunct, so I have no access to those books anymore, sadly.

This means I can't leave an accurate reflection of my feelings towards the book as I am unable to read it now and so I am leaving a message of explanation instead. I am now back to reading and reviewing full time as once considerable time had passed I have found that books have been helping me significantly in terms of my mindset and mental health - this was after having no interest in anything for quite a number of years after the passings. This is book #3 in the series. Each book in the series revolves around a central crime that drives the majority of the story. This one is a young woman is found after being stolen ten years prior. Her story is horrendous.

Each book also has a continuing thread of the story behing the lead detective's hunt for her long lost sister. As she works each of the missing children cases, she is also looking for information/ evidence of her sister.

This could be read as a stand alone thriller but you'd miss the thread of the back ground story.

I didn’t realise this was part of a series and I didn’t think it worked as a standalone as I felt I was missing some things as I was reading, the plot was interesting but I think it would have been better if I had read the rest of the series

Great plot to get yourself lost in. This book has everything. A real fast paced thriller. Will get your heart racing on more than one occasion. Very well written. Highly recommend this book

The third instalment of this series and it did not disappoint. I have binged a number of these books over the past few weeks and have not been disappointed.
Emma and her best friend Rachel are investigating the return of a woman who has appeared after being missing. As always well written and gripping.

This is the third instalment in the ‘Missing children case files’ series and I am very much enjoying it, however, I have to say I’m slightly disappointed in how this one ended. The actual plot of the book wasn’t wrapped up at all, it just sort of finished with no explanation as to what happened to the missing child case. There’s a storyline that runs through all of these books that is linked to the main character, Emma Hunter, and I just sometimes find that that takes precedence above everything else and the actual plot is forgotten about. Fingers crossed the loose ends are tied up at the start of book 4.

I love this series! I rushed to buy the last in this series before I finished this one!
We again have another missing child returning to the family. The father is guilty of something?
I like the way each in this series reminds us of a missing sister but no closer to finding her.
I hope this is addressed in the last book.
This series is clever as each book looks at a different outcome/possibility for a missing child.
Excellent- a series worth investigating.

This is book three in the Missing Children’s Case Files Emma appears to be getting closer to knowing what happened to her sister all those years ago!

When Aurelie LeBrun, the daughter of a French politician, who went missing on a British beach years earlier, turns up in a Dorset hospital, Emma is requested to speak to her by Aurelie’s father to try and delve into the years Aurelie was missing, where she was and what she went through. What was intriguing was that Aurelie referred to herself as “Four”, after years of abuse and god know’s what else, she is suspicious of everyone, is there anyone she can trust, will she get through this and ever live a normal life again!

Another great instalment which kept me gripped, I feel emotionally involved in Emma’s hunt for the truth and what happened to her sister and I feel we are getting closer, the story is evolving as are the characters, Emma & Jack seem to be getting closer (I’m rooting for them!), although overall this is a harrowing story of abuse, trafficking, child abduction, murder, it is very well handled and well written. I can’t wait for Book No. 4, just like Emma, I have to know!

Emma had come close to what had happened to her sister. The story had great twists and kept me on the edge of the seat. Some parts meandered but the rest had enough suspense to keep me hooked. A fun read

Meanwhile, Aurelie LeBrun, the daughter of a French politician, who went missing on a British beach years earlier, turns up in a Dorset hospital. She has been held captive for 13 years and her father brings Emma in to help investigate the truth about where she has been and who held her there.

Aurelie’s story is the most heart breaking so far. Kidnapped at the age of 10, she is now a young woman in her twenties with no idea who she is. Years of abuse and captivity have left her broken and suspicious of everyone. Her name and parents are a distant memory and she calls herself “Four” – the number she was referred to by her captures.

Aurelie’s story is horrifying and the stories of the abuse that she has suffered are not for the faint hearted. the book explores the impact that the kidnapping and her abuse have had on her in a sensitive and compassionate way.

The story of Anna’s disappearance is very much in the background of this book and does not move on as much as I thought it would considering the cliff hanger that the last book left on. Having said that, the relationship between Emma and Jack is continuing to develop and Emma is certainly gaining invaluable insights into both the investigative process and the dark world of organised child abuse in which she is searching.

This is the third book in the missing Children Case Files – I have book 4 ready to read so hopefully there will be more answers in the next book.

This is book three in the Missing children case files and Emma Hunter had been invited to be involved from day one by the parents of a missing child. The twist the missing child has just reappeared after being missing for over a decade. She has been held and tortured for all of this time.
Emma is also trying to see if it links at all to the cases her and police officer Jack have been working on or the case of Emma’s missing sister. Emma starts to investigate with reporter Rachel but it soon becomes clear that the rescued woman is not being 100% honest about everything.
This was a great read which kept me gripped. As with previous novels it’s written in the past covering what happened when the girl went missing and the present investigation. I like how the characters are eveolving and their relationships adapting.
Can’t wait for book four.

I wasn't sure about this to start with but I persevered another chapter or two and my interest was piqued. This is my first M.A. Hunter novel but it won't be my last.

A woman traumatised and unable to explain what happened to her, An author whose work prioritises kidnapped and missing children and what happens to them. It makes for a good combination and makes an ok book a page turner.

Easy to recommend although with this series I do believe that starting at the beginning would be better that diving in blind.

I am absolutely loving this series. It's so fascinating and gripping. I've loved all the books and Trafficked is no different
