I love being given the opportunity to update our school library which is a unique space for both senior students and staff to access high quality literature. This is definitely a must-buy. It kept me absolutely gripped from cover to cover and is exactly the kind of read that just flies off the shelves. It has exactly the right combination of credible characters and a compelling plot thatI just could not put down. This is a great read that I couldn't stop thinking about and it made for a hugely satisfying read. I'm definitely going to order a copy and think it will immediately become a popular addition to our fiction shelves. 10/10 would absolutely recommend.

I liked the setting in Ireland and also loved the writing
The plot was lacking depth and it wasn’t very thrilling
This is not the best thriller ever

Due to a sudden, unexpected passing in the family a few years ago and another more recently and my subsequent (mental) health issues stemming from that, I was unable to download this book in time to review it before it was archived as I did not visit this site for several years after the bereavements. This meant I didn't read or venture onto netgalley for years as not only did it remind me of that person as they shared my passion for reading, but I also struggled to maintain interest in anything due to overwhelming depression. I was therefore unable to download this title in time and so I couldn't give a review as it wasn't successfully acquired before it was archived. The second issue that has happened with some of my other books is that I had them downloaded to one particular device and said device is now defunct, so I have no access to those books anymore, sadly.

This means I can't leave an accurate reflection of my feelings towards the book as I am unable to read it now and so I am leaving a message of explanation instead. I am now back to reading and reviewing full time as once considerable time had passed I have found that books have been helping me significantly in terms of my mindset and mental health - this was after having no interest in anything for quite a number of years after the passings. Anything requested and approved will be read and a review written and posted to Amazon (where I am a Hall of Famer & Top Reviewer), Goodreads (where I have several thousand friends and the same amount who follow my reviews) and Waterstones (or Barnes & Noble if the publisher is American based). Thank you for the opportunity and apologies for the inconvenience.

Overall, this is a fine mystery. Things are unveiled at the right times, the tale flows well, and the solution is acceptable. For me, however, this one was not all that new or inventive, but that probably has more to do with the amount of thriller/mysteries I read. Yet, it's a solid story, Claire Allan is an excellent writer and she includes atmospheric details. A decent thriller!

I really enjoyed this, a good tense thriller with a great twist at the end.
Six year old Kelly Doherty was murdered, a local man was convicted of her murder and served 25 years in prison.
Ingrid works for The Chronicle as a journalist and plans to cover the anniversary of Kelly’s death - an event she remembers well as she lived in Derry at the time it happened.
She accidentally uncovers hidden secrets which shock the whole town, and several lives are changed forever.
I’ll definitely be looking to read more of Claire Allan’s books.

This was a good book and good storyline and I apologise for not reading it sooner. The characters were good and I liked the writing style.

The plot is not original in the slightest but the book was still twisty and fun to read. This is a quick and fun book that I really enjoyed

Ask No Questions is a gripping, claustrophobic crime thriller which follows the story of the murder of eight-year-old Kelly Doherty who went missing in Derry while out trick or treating with friends.

Told from multiple POVs and dual timelines this story really keeps you on your toes throughout. The sinister connections and events of The Troubles are carefully blended in which adds to the harrowing and dangerous feel of the book. Filled with plenty of twists and multiple plausible bad guys this one kept me guessing right until the end.

I listened to the audiobook and found the narrators really added the closed haunting atmosphere of the storyline and definitely added to the tension.

Another dark, compelling page-turner from the great Claire Allan.

This was another great psychological thriller from this author, a great plot and some unexpected twists made this an enjoyable read

I've read most of Claire Allan's previous books and while I enjoyed this one it certainly wasn't a favourite of mine.

As with all her books, I enjoyed the Ireland setting. As always, I enjoyed the writing style too.

The main issue I had with this book was the plot. It seemed to lack any substance or depth.

There wasn't many twists or turns. There wasn't that many shocks either. Although, it was still quite a dark thriller which I enjoyed.

The synopsis said the book was set around Halloween. I love Halloween, but this wasn't a big part of the stories plot- I wish it was.

As with all her books, they are quick and easy thrillers to read but this one seemed to lack something and is unlikely to be memorable.

Overall, I recommend if you enjoy thrillers but it's certainly not the best thriller I have ever read.

Ask No Questions Claire Allan
I really enjoyed this book. I loved delving back in time to figure out this story. I love Ingrid, and would love to read more books about her.
I had no idea who the culprit was, and had a few shocking moments along the way. I love this author and her books.

A twisty psychological thriller by # Claire Allan. # Ask No Questions is about a crime from 25 years in the past. Not all secrets are meant to come out....
Thank you for the advance copy,

I tried on multiple occasions to get through this book, and ultimately, at about 65% of the way through, just gave up. It's a shame--I really loved Allan's other book, Forget Me Not, and had high hopes for this one. The plot moved so slowly I kept spacing out and having to go back and reread. This one wasn't for me.

Ingrid Devlin is a young up and coming reporter with a local newspaper in her home town. The twenty fifth anniversary of a gruesome murder is coming up and this Irish town is on edge. A man was accused and convicted of the crime but always professed his innocence. Ingrid remembers the crime, knew all the major players but as a child things were a little blurry. Writing an anniversary piece Ingrid is thrown back into an investigation townspeople don’t want touched, especially a pair of twins, their family and the family of the victim. Well written and I was invested in finding out the truth.
