This book was ADORABLE. Like can you imagine a more perfect book. I mean it takes place in the most romantic and inspiring city, and you’re getting to experience it with our main character for her fist time in Paris. I loved all of the ballet and dance aspects of this book and found Mias dedication and determination to do what she loved despite what everyone around her thought was truly inspiring. Seriously loved every second of reading this book.

This was such a cute YA read. It was easy to read and fun to explore Paris through a 17 year olds view. The ballet and art aspects were unique and fun to read as well. It took me a while to read the entire book because I didn’t find myself eager to read it. I also found the writing to be in need of editing. Otherwise, once I committed to finishing it, I liked it.

This book is a sweet summer YA read. Mia is in Paris for an intense summer ballet program, focused on her future and not looking for love. Enter Louis, the son of her ballet teacher. You can pretty much guess what happens next, aside from perhaps the dark little twist at the end of the story. This is a classic YA love story, focused on coming-of-age themes like deciding your future, balancing focus with fun, and pursuing (or finding) your passion. It's a perfect, light summer read, set against a beautiful, vivid backdrop of Paris in the summer. It made me want to return to Paris immediately! The ending left me feeling sweetly fulfilled, even more so for the preceding drama.
Recommend for fans of "Anna and the French Kiss" and "Love and Gelato."

This book is adorable and the perfect summer romance!! It delivered on absolutely everything promised in the description. It was such a fun travel romance it has made me want to go to France and find a boy myself. I also loved how dedicated the book was to Mia's love for ballet. I think her love and dedication was shown in a realistic light, but it also didn't overwhelm the story the way that it can sometimes. I really just had a great time with this book. Highly recommend!

Mia has been accepted into an elite ballet summer program in Paris, France. Leaving class one day she meets Louis.

I loved the inclusion of French food, words, and locations it really helped me feel like I was really in Paris. I also liked the characters because of how fleshed out they were. Mia was a good character as well, but she did have some flaws. One flaw she had that I really didn't like was that she kept blaming things on Louis. When she missed a step, that wasn't Louis' fault, heck it wasn't even her fault. When she got into an accident, that also wasn't Louis' fault. She did eventually understand that some things are just unpreventable but it was a little frustrating. I really liked the element of mystery revolving her ancestor and Degas. It was so cool to read about his different paintings and how much they meant to Mia.

“French kisses taste a million times better in France.”

Teenaged girl spends a summer in Paris for a ballet program, meets cute French boy, falls in love. This story is simple and sweet. The conflicts are predictable, but not in a bad way. It’s just a cozy read full of foreign cities and summer love. It takes a heavier twist right at the end, which I didn’t love. It didn’t fit the feel of the rest of the story, but it didn’t ruin the story either so 🤷🏼‍♀️.

Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC!

This is such a whimsical and romantic novel. The setting and ballet descriptions took me on such a beautiful journey. I lived vicariously through Mia, experiencing Paris for the first time and feeling all the angst that comes with falling in love and trying to be the best at ballet. I really enjoyed everything about this book and it’s one I’d recommend to any teenager who loves a whimsical romance!

It is not an exaggeration when I say that I've been looking for a ballet book like Kisses and Croissants for a very long time. One of my pet peeves is that most of the ballet books I come across mention being influenced by Black Swan, which I hate. Last time I checked, you can be a ballerina without some sort of murder/suspense/mystery involved. Which is where Kisses and Croissants comes in! It actually reminded me of the last ballet book I loved, Bunheads by Sophie Flack, which I read back in 2012 (see, it's been forever!).

In Kisses, Mia, a seventeen-year-old American girl, is about to embark on the opportunity of a lifetime. She's headed to Paris for an elite summer ballet program and if all goes according to plan, she'll snag an audition with one of the world's best ballet companies. But of course, being in Paris opens her eyes not only to the competitive ballet world but also travel, friendship, and love (in the form of a charming French boy named Louis who certainly had me swooning).

What I loved about this book was how at its core it focused Mia's love for dance. She knows it's her calling and we watch her fight every step of the way to prove herself at this competitive level. I immediately rooted for her and thoroughly enjoyed the descriptions of her classes. But I think there was a really great balance and exploration of her as a young woman traveling for the first time without her family. She explores the beautiful city of Paris, which made me so nostalgic. We get to see her open up and let loose a bit as she befriends the other ballerinas, juggling her dedication with fun. There's also an interesting aspect with her family and how much they did (or did not) understand how strongly she felt about ballet. And lastly, there's the romance which I absolutely adored. Seriously, how come I never meet cute boys on my travels?

Do I recommend? 100% yes! I think if you're a YA contemporary fan in general, this a very enjoyable read but if you happen to love ballet too, you're really going to like book!

Awwww, Kisses and Croissants is just soooooo cute. Mia is an aspiring ballerina and Louis (the cute French guy) is an easy-going boy who loves to go on all sorts of adventures...preferably with a pretty ballerina like Mia. I love that Mia gets to explore more of Paris and herself during all the spontaneous trips in search of a famous painting that may be about her own ancestor with Louis. She also sparks the meaning of life for Louis as well, and further helps him rediscover his love for drawing later in the book. Their love story is definitely more like a platonic one but the character development is the cherry on top.

Kisses and Croissants not only features the coming-of-age experience of Mia and her journey of pursing her dream as a professional ballerina, but also puts emphasis on solving the family mystery, the transformation of an unlikely friendship (between Mia and her nemesis, Audrey), and the essence of following her own heart when she's lost. This book makes my heart flutter in all the best possible ways and I find myself can't resist smiling long after the end of the book. I mean, this book is undoubtedly worthy of savoring like one of those precious kisses and croissants in Paris. *dreamy eyes*

In a nutshell, I'd HIGHLY RECOMMEND Kisses and Croissants as Mia and Louis's story will certainly warm your heart and brighten up your day! It's a must read for this Summer and I hope this book will make you feel good the way a fluffy, freshly-baked croissant will. Bonne lecture ! :)

This book is so cute, and I'd recommend it to anyone that loves Anna and the French Kiss. Parts of it are sweetly predictable, but the climax of the story is definitely not. Whether you want to reminisce of your time in Paris or enjoy a cute teen romance, I think many will enjoy this book.

This book was really good! I feel like it really transports you to the setting and makes you feel like you're in France with the main character, and the romance was good as well. I think fans of YA contemporary and YA romance will really enjoy this book.

Kisses and Croissants was the cutest book that took you on a French hallmark getaway. This book follows Mia who just got into a prestigious ballet program in France. While there she meets a French boy named Louis. This is all fine and dandy, but Mia wants to get into an American ballet program after the summer so she needs to make a choice. The boy or her dream of ballet. I will say, this was an adorable book but it wasn’t anything more Than that. It was not very deep and it lacked a lot of character development in my opinion. But if you’re just looking for a feel good breezy book, then this is the one for you!
