The romance and allure of Paris lit the way for a summer of change for an American dreamer in the pages of this new, adorable contemporary romance, Kisses and Croissants.

Mia lives and breathes ballet. It’s in her blood and soul. So when she gets an opportunity to spend a summer at a prestigious ballet program in Paris, she is determined to show to her family and herself that she can make a career out of her passion for dance.

This book was fun, charming, and made me crave croissants like crazy! It was a lighthearted read about a girl finding herself in the City of Love full of dance, laughter, friendship, and romance. Mia herself was really sweet, and you can’t help but root for her. Her story will sweep you off your feet and make you long for an adventure in Paris.

This is such a sweet and whimsical book! Beautiful friendship, mother/daughter dynamics, and a sweet romance all make Mia’s summer ballet intensive in Paris a wild journey. This book will absolutely give you the travel bug - the descriptions make the city itself a major character in the story. Excellent YA story with so much heart.

If you are looking for a cute summer romance set in Paris, this is it! Ballet, fun, romance, friendships, it's all here. I felt there were a few parts that dragged a bit and then the romance did feel a bit rushed, but overall this was a cute, fun read.

Thank you to NetGalley for this ARC

Wow this book was amazing! I’ve been in a reading slump for quite some time and this book got me out of it.

One of the things I like about this book is that it uses ballet terminology and French, but makes sure to explain what they are saying. As a non french speaker and non ballet person, this really helped. I also loved the romance! The characters were such a cute couple and I love how everything worked out in the end. The ending was very shocking and definitely a little unexpected. It was a little i excesses but somehow I actually liked it. I loved the character development for all of the characters too. I especially liked Audrey’s.

Overall this book was amazing! I’d definitely reckons this book to contemporary lovers and people who like books like Anna and the French Kiss

When I saw this cover on Instagram, I knew I wanted to read it! It just looked so cute. I’m glad that I was able to read it early because of Netgalley.

The book follows Mia, an American girl, who ends up in Paris for the summer to pursue ballet. I haven’t read a book with ballet in it so I was very intrigued by the plot. Mia is very passionate about it and even though her mother doesn’t always approve, she chases her dream.

In books like this, there is usually another character that is competition to the MC, this one is no different. I did like Audrey and she wasn’t your typical mean girl either. From the beginning, you can kind of see where their relationship will go and I’m glad that they didn’t let their competitiveness come between them. They even ended up helping each other out.

I can’t say that I disliked any of the characters and thought that each one brought something to the book even if they had a smaller role.

I really liked that this book had a good mix of romance and ballet. One doesn’t overshadow the other and I enjoyed both. It also gives us a bit of family mystery that brings Mia and Louis, the french boy, together.

The romance is sweet and perfect for the Paris setting. It was fun to see them travel together and do many tourist things even if he has lived there. Even though it could be seen as insta-love. It didn’t bother me and I loved the ending.

Overall, I enjoyed this book. It had a great setting and the author incorporated so many things many would know about Paris from movies or books. This will definitely be the perfect summer read to add to your tbr!

I expected this to be a frothy teen romance, but it was so much more than that!
Mia is a ballerina - it's in her blood. After a disappointment, she gets into a prestigious summer program in Paris and it changes her life. This is a story for people who love mystery, romance, and friendship. So, basically everyone.

Maybe I loved this so much because my sister and I watched Center Stage so many times in high school. Maybe it's because the world is a dark, angry place right now. Either way, I read this all in one sitting and enjoyed just about every minute.

This book was exactly what I needed after being stuck inside for the past 8 months. It was a refreshing story that was light hearted and a genuinely a fun book to read. I didn't go into it expecting to like it as much as I did but I'm so glad I went in with an open mind. Going to Paris is one of my dreams and being able to read about it through Mia's eyes made me want to go even more! I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for an easy read about a young ballerina who has a whirlwind summer in France. There's also a bit of family mystery added in that allows you to run around Paris alongside Mia in search for answers. I was also really happy with how her relationships with the other girls as well as with dance itself unfolded.

I like that Mia is so passionate about her dreams at such a young age, she honestly is inspiring me to work harder to find my own. I really related to Louis in that aspect as well.

I think my only critiques and why I gave it four (and a half) stars is because of the little tidbit toward the end after her final performance and the depiction of Paris. It is merely personal preference but I don't really like when that trope is added - it feels unnecessary and overdone. In this case however I think it worked in her favor and the ending was incredibly cute but again, I personally don't seek out books with that trope. As for Paris' depiction I can't say this with 100% certainty but it definitely doesn't feel realistic. While this isn't that big of a deal considering how lighthearted the book is it's hard knowing Paris isn't as safe as Mia experienced it when you want to go so bad!

Overall I enjoyed the read and I would like to thank Netgalley and the author for the chance of reading it ahead of time! Excited to see more works from the author.

This was a super sweet read. I didn't realize at first this was YA and I feel a little old. However I got over that real fast. 3 chapters in I couldn't put this down and I finished this within 24 hours!

I loved the Paris background throughout the book. The love story was very believable and cute. It made me reminisce for my year abroad. I loved the rivalry between Mia and Audrey and the romance between Mia and Louis. It made me want to take my own Parisian getaway. The wanderlust is strong!

The author did a really good job using french but also translating it. As someone who doesn't speak a lick of French I felt like I still understood what was going on. It's a hard balance to find in multi-lingual books. I'd love to get a sequel of Mia's next adventure to Paris!

Thanks Netgalley and the publisher for the book in exchange for an honest review 3.75 stars

You know how when you're mindlessly browsing shelves at the store or scrolling online and you find the perfect item for you personally? That's exactly how I felt when I was reading this book. I was a dancer for almost all of my childhood and teen years, so I could relate to Mia. My favorite genre is YA contemporary, so naturally this checked that box, too. I have an odd obsession with books about Paris (specifically ones with romance), so this checked that box as well. It was a perfect selection.
The writing style was incredible. It was easy to read, but not so easy that I felt like it was juvenile. The plot was extremely well done and I loved every moment of reading about the romance between Louis and Mia while also reading about Mia's struggles as a dancer and with friends. It was a perfect balance.
Often, contemporary books focus too much on the romance and not on the rest of the main character's life. A lot of contemporary characters come off as unrealistic or annoying because of this. But not Mia. She was three dimensional and so fun to read.
None of the characters were perfect which made them likable. The I loved every moment of this book and can't wait for it to come out so I can buy a copy of my own.

If you have ever been to Paris or have an interest in ballet, this is the book for you. Wonderful descriptions of the city and the trials and successes of ballerinas as they work toward being invited to join the various ballet troupes. Mia is in Paris for the summer to try out for the American Ballet group. She meets Louis, a handsome Frenchman and the adventure begins. I couldn't put it down.

Fans of Love and Gelato, you will love this one! This is a beautiful YA Romance set in Paris and it is so good! I loved the relationship between Mia and Louis. They are two young kids in Paris and its so cute. I also loved watching Mia prove herself within ballet. She is a very skilled dancer and is given the chance to prove herself. This story is very cute and I highly recommend it to anyone who is a fan of ya romances and books set in France!

The summer before her senior year of high school, Mia Jenrow is headed to Paris to participate in the Institut de l'Opéra de Paris's summer program. Sure, she didn't get into her top choice in New York. and she has to share a room with her biggest rival, Audrey, but that's not really important. She's only here to dance, put in hard work, and prove her mother wrong about a future in ballet. After all, the legend in her family is that her ancestor, Elise Mercier, was a ballerina who was painted by Edgar Degas.
And her hard work pays off. She is moved up from level four to level five not long after she arrives, despite her new coach's harsh criticisms. While on her way to buy the proper leotard, she runs into the coach's son, Louis Dabrowski. Soon, they're exploring the city together, and Louis is willing to help Mia prove the family legend by searching for the painting. They get in touch with Mia's great-aunt, Vivienne, and her daughter, Madeline, to learn more about her history, but there's only so much you can learn from an individual.
Soon, Mia lands the role of the Black Swan in the program's final production of Swan Lake, but is finding herself often distracted by her feelings for Louis. She's always put ballet before any sort of love life, but is there a way to make room for both?
You won't be able to stop reading once you start this book. I needed to find out not only the truth behind the family legend, but also what would happen to Mia and Louis when the summer ended, I won't spoil anything.
But I found that in the last few chapters, it tried to repeat the stages of the plot again, and this final part really didn't seem necessary to me, especially since in the epilogue, nothing had really been changed by it.
My favorite part was how Mia and Audrey went from bitter enemies to actual friends! The only reason they had to compete against each other was their dancing ability, and Audrey wasn't a bully nor did she fit into the "perfect popular girl" stereotype I see in a lot of YA adversaries, and I found her portrayal way more realistic than most other books show rivals. She even had her own development, with how she learned to express her emotions.

Kisses and Croissants is sweet, fun, and a beautiful look at pursuing passion-- and love-- as a teenager.
Mia's dream is to be a professional ballerina. And when she starts a prestigious summer program in Paris, that's all she can think about-- until she meets Louis, a gorgeous, fun, charming French boy. She's torn between a laser focus on her future and finding out if Paris really is the city of love.
One of my favorite things about this book is that Mia really reads as a teenager. The voice itself is great, and the particular way she struggles between everything she's ever wanted and the new things she's starting to want now-- and the choices she makes along the way-- read authentically teenager in a way that suggests this book was truly written for teens, by someone who understands them well.
I immediately started raving about this book when I finished, and can't wait for it to hit shelves so everyone can pick up a copy. I know I'll be rereading it when it comes out.

I really liked the epic journey this book put me through!

Mia was a ballet dancer. Her dream was to become professional ballet dancer and to attend the ABT (American Ballet Theater) set in New York. But that all went downhill when Mia found out she wasn't accepted. But determined, Mia wouldn't let that stop her. She signed up instead for a summer class in Paris. P. A. R. I. S. What could be better than that, right? But Mia was strictly there to dance only . So why, oh why, couldn't she get cute, handsome Louise (pronounced the French way obviously) out of her head??? Mia then learned that her summer program will be putting on one of the famous ballets of all time, Swan Lake , and she just got a role of a lifetime! Many ballet scouts would be on the lookout for fresh meat and Mia had to do her best to get a second chance at her dream...but can she balance between what she loved and the boy she loved...?

I really liked the setting of the book. That was what drew me in in the first place. Paris and love...*chefs kiss*. The absolute perfect ingredients for awesomeness. The story had me hooked from the very first page. But at the second half...I got bored very quick. Mia and Louise were going on so many great adventures. There was a little bit of family mystery mixed in. Mia's grandmother believed that Edgar Degas, the famous French artist, actually painted Mia's great-great-great-(great?)-grandmother. So with the help of Louise, Mia went around Paris to find that specific painting. I liked the adventures at the start but they got tedious after a while.

I'm not a ballet dancer, but I can appreciate how knowledgeable the author is in this particular dance. Pirouettes, and twirling...and that's about all I remember...But it was written very descriptively to the point where I can see the dance happening myself!

I mentioned before that Mia was a very determined character, and she was. She poured her heart out to her passion and won't stop in order to achieve her goal. If that meant dancing for hours and hours a day, she would take it. But Mia also wasn't afraid to have fun. Even though she wanted to be focusing on her ballet, Mia couldn't help but go out at night to see Louise. What happened to her at the end left me shocked...but because of how strong and determined she was, I knew Mia was going to be okay.

Overall, it was a very fun book! I really recommend for people who are into dancing, especially ballet, and for people who are into traveling. I love traveling and that was why I picked it up, but the dancing was a perk! There were some things I liked and some things I didn't so overall, I would give this a 3.95. Thank you again for NetGalley for giving me a free ARC of this book!

Paris? Ballet? Romance? Bread? Kisses and Croissants has it all and then some. I love a good fish out of water story, and Mia is totally in her element trying to become a prima ballerina but her summer program is hard and Paris is more than she expected. Louis, a charming parisian boy, wants to be her tour guide--and the pair discover the city both the expected and unexpected.

This is the perfect romance read for anytime of year. The characters are spending a romantic summer in Paris, but its a perfect feel good anytime.
