Thank you to NetGalley and Avon for the opportunity to read this ARC.
It´s been some time since I last read a book of Lynsay Sands. It's the first time I read one of her novels with a highlander.
Lady Elysande is a brave young English woman who is seeking help from Rory Buchanan, a highlander lord who's only interest is to be away from England and mind his own business as a healer, for which he's known.
Rory has been asked to protect her into Scotland running away from some people who want her dead.
Although this is like a common theme for romantic historical novels, I enjoyed very much, specially Rory's Scotish accent.
Seeing that this is the 9th book in the series, I can't wait to read the first ones.

I’m so beyond excited I was finally given an Lynsay Sands book to read!! I absolutely LOVE her Highland series!!! And this book is no exception! I loved this story so much! Rory & Elysande have quite the journey in this one! I was sucked in on page 1 & couldn’t stop! Rory is our Scot healer hero. He is in England to help a man for a large sum. But before he leaves for home, he’s given a task to escort a Lady to Northern Scotland to her aunt. Elysande has been through hell & beaten while left to possibly die but she is determined to escape! *She’s such a strong woman.* Elysande is completely covered when she meets Rory to start their journey north.....we soon find the damage that had been done to her body but she refuses Rory’s help to heal. These two have some serious chemistry & tension as it builds up! It was wonderfully explosive when these two finally touched/kissed! I’m so happy they got an HEA! It was rough getting too it but oh so worth it. Just a fabulous book! I really hope there will be more in this series!

Lynsay Sands knows how to do a hot highland romance! She writes a hero like no other! In this one we have Rory, a healer, who is tasks with accompanying a family friends "treasure" to the highlands, but, guess what, that treasure is none other than Lady Elysande de Valance, a beautiful lady on the run from English soldiers. Rory comes to find out that Lady Elysande is in need of his healing touch to not only her bruised body, but her bruised heart as well.
This book was equal parts romantic, tender, loving, and sexy. I highly enjoyed. You want be disappointed in any of this authors highland books!
I received an ARC for my true and honest review.

How have I never read a book by Lynsay Sands before now?! Even though this was a continuation of a series, it's great as a standalone book as well. I loved the relationship build up, the plot, the action, the steamy, and of course the kilted men! I'll definitely be reading more from this author.

I am new to Lynsay Sands. She is an author I had heard of, just had not taken the opportunity to read. This was a delightful book. Rory was a gem of a main character and Elysande was wonderful. I loved the dynamic between the two and enjoyed the story. I will start reading her backlist now.

In her imaginative, quirky, and witty style, Lynsay Sands delivers the next installment in her ‘Highland brides’ series with a tale of true love and belonging. Rory’s older brothers have all fallen prey to the charms of love and marriage, urging him and Alick to take brides, settle and experience the bliss and happiness of the marriage union. But between his studying, traveling, and healing, Rory hasn’t had the opportunity to meet ‘the one’ The lass who will manage to stir his emotion and separate the healer from the man.
Eager to return home after spending some time in the hostile territory, he receives a message, a cry for help that his noble heart cannot ignore. Escorting a treasure to Scotland, to the Sinclaire lands seems like a straightforward task, but is it? What will happen when he realizes that the so-called treasure is a mysterious girl, who manages to confuse him like no other? A girl whose strength and determination equals the bravest warriors? A girl who went through hell survived real torture inflicted by human hands and yet stayed kind-hearted and generous towards everyone… The only girl who captured the attention of Rory- the man, not Rory-the famous healer…
This suspenseful and charming story which will take you to medieval Scotland, conveying the courage, perseverance, and chivalry of the handsome warriors will delight all fans of this genre. Complete standalone, yet part of a series, this book is full of richly developed characters, detailed descriptions, complex and clever plot. The transition from the calm and logical Rory into this jealous and possessive man is a real boon to read. His new way of reasoning will make you laugh, while you will sigh from his emotionality and possessiveness. And her perseverance and sacrifice will delight you. A woman who manages to show mercy after so much pain and suffering, who manages to smile when hope slowly disappears is the perfect choice for our hero. And the chemistry between them is simply electrified and simply can not be ignored Moreover it contains the perfect blend of mystery and romance to keep you hooked and on the edge of your seat from beginning to end.
The author firmly adheres to all those details that run through all the books in this series, at the same time adding enough novelty and freshness for each work to be similar and yet so different from the previous ones. And each story fits perfectly into the overall series.
The balance between the internal and external conflict as well as the dynamic of the romance was almost perfect. Nothing felt rushed or dragged for the better part of the book, which couldn’t be said for the end. It seems like everything felt in place too quickly and somehow felt a bit out of the concept and overall pace of the book. It would be fantastic if the end of this whole adventure was captured in more detail, where we would have a brief insight into the lives of the other family members we read about in the previous books.
However, this book is really interesting and contains enough elements to keep your attention until the very end. If you are interested in an unforgettable trip with a sexy Highlander and a brave heroine, you must not miss this book.

If you like the other Highland Brides books, you'll want to read this to find out how Rory gets his happily ever after.

I admit, I was getting Highland Brides fatigue after the 8th book in this series; many of the plots hit the same beats (imperiled women, dodging villains while traipsing over the Highlands, a handful of female villains driven mad from jealousy) and the stories were becoming predictable. Then, I learned Rory would be the hero of this one and I figured I had to read it. He's made an appearance in most of the other novels as a healer--and his absence notably set the plot of another of the novels into action--and I wondered how his story might turn out.

It was a nice change of pace that Rory was not here solely in healer capacity, despite the heroine having been badly beaten just before the story begins. (Major warning: if you find violence on the scale of Game of Throne's Red Wedding distasteful, this book is probably not for you.) Instead, he is tasked with escorting Elysande safely to the Highlands from England while dodging treasonous barons and their armies. Along the way, they fall in love, mostly by sleeping in close proximity.

It's obvious why he love her: she's brave, determined, loyal, and clever. She makes friends with unscrupulous alewives and random shopkeepers. And--catnip for Rory--she has her own healing talents. Other than being slightly more handsome than his brother Alick (also along for this adventure), Rory doesn't seem to bring quite as much to the table. This is a shame, because in each of his other appearances, he really does save the day with his healing skills and unflappable calm. Perhaps this far into the series, readers are expected to just know why Rory is so loveable.

HIGHLAND TREASURE is the ninth book in the Highland Brides series. It definitely stands on its own, but there is reference to former couples (Rory’s siblings).

Beautifully described scenes and actions made me feel every action and snowflake. I have now had my vacation in Medieval England and Scotland in early winter on horseback. What an adventure! Suspense, humor, romance, and camaraderie as a single woman travels with eight men to selflessly protect king and country.

I loved, loved, loved this story and hope that I am able to pick up more of this series. I am a sucker for Lynsay Sands vampires (pun intended), but now I want more of her sexy highlanders.

Note: While I received this book as a gifted ARC via NetGalley, my opinions are my own and are given freely.

Highland Treasure is finally Rory’s romance. He has been the brother who is kind of in the background, but always there to help the hurting and injured when needed. He seemed to be the most unusual of the brothers due to not being an outright warrior, although just as handsome as the others. He trained to fight so he would be ready if needed, but he seemed to be always on the side lines, always needed to help. Rory has a giving heart and a healing hand. Now, finally the hero.

Meet his heroine, Elysande who witnesses her father and kinsman murdered, her mother hurt and paralyzed and has been beat to within an inch of her life. Now she is hurting and running for her life charged with getting a message to the king that will save his life. (There is a lot of violence in this one and would not be advisable for someone with issues).

Their journey is precious with Rory making all kinds of mistakes. His healing hands are feeling from his heart and not his medical head. As Rory is struggling with his growing feelings for Elysande, he realizes there is more going on than first thought.

I love that Rory sees Elysande for the strong, brave, intelligent woman. Elysande’s beauty is in her heart and loyalty, as well. As always, Lynsay Sands sets up a beautiful journey for our hero and heroine that keeps you involved and caring about them. Cannot wait for the next Highland Brides book …. Alick?

4.5 stars, and the only reason I'm taking off one half a star is that this was a bit of a slow read at the beginning.

However, I must emphatically ask, JUST WHERE THE HECK IS MY OWN KILTED MAN??? If I didn't have to trade in some of my modern conveniences (hot running water, toilets, etc.!) I would find some way to shoot myself back in time so that I can have my very own Kilted Scot!!!

This book had a fascinating storyline, and I enjoyed it immensely. There were enough twists and turns and comedy to keep me entertained for hours.

As far as being a sexy book, it was not overly descriptive and there were not too many scenes and they were all at or near the end of the book.

The epilogue was so good it would be worth reading the entire book just for that...but as I said this was a great read and a perfect addition to the Highland Brides series. I can't wait for the next one, but until then I will just have to make myself happy by reading the next in Ms. Sand Immortal series.

This is a great story that is full of danger and an unexpected romance. After being severely beaten and her parents dead, Elysande escapes to try and find Rory to escort her to the Sinclair’s in Scotland. Eventually Rory realizes how badly injured she is and as his admiration for her grows, so do feelings he was not sure he wanted. This is a well written story that keeps your attention from the beginning to the very end, that is full of emotion and has a HEA. The interaction between Rory and Elysande goes from protector to friends and eventually to lovers. This is a story that is worth reading.

I have to say, I loved this book! Also, I've not read any of the other books 8 in this series so I can say without a doubt that you can read this one, even if you haven’t read the other . They do mention some of the other Buchanan's., but now I am planning to go back and read the entire series from the beginning!

Book ARC provided to me by NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Thank you!

I have been following the Highland Brides series for a long time, and Rory's story did not disappoint. I especially appreciate Elysande's strength throughout. Elysande is not the best equipped for being on the run, but she pulls herself through it and gives Rory a run for his money. I appreciate their dynamic in this book so much, and am also really happy that Rory got his happy ending. I can't wait for more books in this series, but I think this one will be one of my overall favourites.

Lynsay Sands is one of my favorite historical romance authors and this book hit it out of the park for me.
This had the perfect amont of romance, sexy scottish men, suspense and had me laughing out loud. Especially at the end. After a brutal beating and the death of her parents Lady Elsande is on a mission to deliver something that could save someones life. Before her mothers death she made provisions for Elysande to travel to meet Rory so he could take her to her Scottish family. Rory after having helped an Englishman overcome an illness is about to go home when he reveives word that he will find a treasure in the woods, and to escort it to the Sinclairs. Little did they know that this would change both of their lives in the best of ways.
Lynsay sands writing makes me feel fully imersed in the story, and I couldn't put it down. Rory and Elysand fully compliment each other and make a great couple. I love that even though a bunch of horrible things had happend to Elysande she didn't let that stop her from doing what she felt she had to do. and that Rory will do whatever it takes to keep a promise to get her where she needs to go, keep her safe, and deliver the evidence that can save a persons life. I loved every bit of this book, and can't wait for more!
I love this series and am definitely due for a reread before we get Alicks book.

Elysande and Rory spend most of the book running from danger. I enjoyed getting to know the people that they meet along the way that help them out. Great secondary characters. The fact that Elysande and Rory are both healers was a nice touch. I enjoyed reading, Highland Treasure, very much.

You can wrap me up in Rory Buchanan’s tartan anytime 😍 A hot Scottish healer? Yes, please! I’ve mentioned before that I am a big fan of Lynsay Sands books. I like them all. This one does not disappoint. This is a Scottish historical romance and tells the story of Lady Elysande de Valance and Rory Buchanan.

Lady Elysande is a victim of torture and is trying to get herself to safety. While her injuries are nothing to laugh at, it’s a little funny that Rory prides himself on being a good healer; what he didn’t know was that Elysande also had some medicinal knowledge and was able to begin healing herself. The action and mystery revolve around a group of men plotting to remove the King of England. Elysande is trying to get a message to the Crown, but can’t really do it without the help of her Scottish escorts (oh! the irony). I love how the slow burn romance starts building between Rory and Elysande. There are definitely many more pressing matters to attend to, but as they travel together and get to know each other, the reader realizes how perfect they are for each other.

There are a lot of elements of betrayal woven into this story. You will find yourself really hoping for Elysande’s happy ending. I also really like that Rory was more focused on his studies than finding women. Being a good healer just made him a lot more attractive. This is the ninth book in the series, but can also be read as a standalone. It has a perfect blend of mystery, adventure, history, and romance. I've read this book twice now. A definite add to your TBR pile!

Wonderful read! Elysande wakes in a dungeon, she has been beaten so bad she can hardly stand. Her attacker keeps asking her “where is it”?
With some help she is able to escape, she has to get to Sinclair. She has her two loyal English subjects, and Rory a Scottish healer with 7 of his men. But they have to hurry Buci’s men are hot on their tails.
I loved the twists and turns, the love story, the way the plot thickens, a wonderfully written book!

It has been a long time since I last read a Lynsay Sands book, and honestly, after reading this one, I'm wondering why the heck I waited so long! The dark nature of the story's beginnings was lightened by humorous moments, and the interactions between the characters as they made their way to safety. I really enjoyed every character, from the healer hero, who makes his money through saving others rather than waging war, to the battered lady, whose strength makes you forget the hurt she must feel inside at all the horrors she has seen. They were definitely one of my favorite couples of the books I have read this year, and this will certainly be on my Favorite Books of 2021 list, once the new year starts!

Rory Buchanan is eager to return to his homeland of Scotland when he receives an urgent message from a noblewoman whose Scottish blood urges him to obey - Collect a treasure and bring it to Sinclair. Not sure what the treasure is, Rory is skeptical and becomes concerned when he realizes the treasure is not a "what" but a "who." Elysande de Valance has just watched her father be murdered, her mother broken and paralyzed, and she herself beaten black and blue. Sneaking out of her home, leaving behind a dying mother, is perhaps the hardest thing she has had to do, and now she must journey to safety in the company of men she doesn't know. Rory is intimidating in size, but his nature is gentle as he helps her heal, both physically and spiritually. It's not difficult for Elysande to grow close to him, but danger lurks everywhere, putting their safety at risk above all else. The time for romance is later, when they can be sure they'll live to see a future at all.

This couple was so easy to fall in love with. Rory was the type of hero that we all want more of - strong and protective, gentle and nurturing, and best of all, humble and possessing a sense of humor. Was there anything I didn't like about him? Not really. He checked all my boxes for the type of hero I like, which I realize probably makes him totally unrealistic these days, but I still love this character. Elysande was a great partner to him, as she was strong, gentle, and humble as well. Despite all that she went through, her spirit remained unbroken, which was evident when seeing her have such faith in the people around her. She could find the humor in life still, and I'm not sure I would have the same strength in that situation. The fact that Rory was a healer and Elysande also knew the healing arts was a wonderful addition to the story, as it put them on more equal footing and showed Rory that someone could need him for just his presence alone, not what he could do for them. Not being a warrior, he wasn't sure what to do when his healing skills weren't as needed, and it was fun watching him reorient his perception of things. Overall, this couple made the story amazing, and I kept thinking about them long after the book ended.

I am certainly adding Lynsay Sands to my list of authors I watch, and I'll need to go back and read what I have missed of course. This was a book to remember and one I'm sure will not be forgotten in my mind for a long time.

Highland Treasure is a fun one of you like a good Highlander romance with a tad of suspense thrown in. The heroine Elysande is in possession of damning evidence against the man who destroyed her family and abused her horribly. The hero, Rory Buchanan, is a well known healer (and one of a bajillion brothers who have their own books, yay!) and is in England to heal someone. Elysande joins up with Rory and his men, who help her head north to the safety of the Sinclair clan, where a relative lives, hopefully far away from the man who wants to kill her.

Pretty much the whole story takes place on the road, and I did feel a little bit like I wanted to get to Sinclair already. However, the story itself has all the parts that I enjoy: strong likeable characters, kilts, and just the right amount of steam. Although it's part of a series, it completely stands on its own. It's a good read, if Highland romance is your genre, and I recommend it.

I received an ARC of this book from the publisher and Netgalley in exchange for my honest opinion.

I received this as an ARC for my honest review.

I am hooked on the whole Buchanan family, and this one was another winner. I do have to say it was different than the others in the series and not really as much of a romance. I still very much enjoyed it and I feel that it matched Rory's personality, he is a healer and views the human body in a different way than the others. Ms. Sands has once again written an amazingly strong heroine, Elysande was a great breath of fresh air. I am not a fun of weak women in these books, but Elysande was also really funny when it came to her interactions around town. I really felt that I could relate to her a lot of ways.

Definitely not one to miss in this wonderful series.
