Canton’s love story to the 800 year old Honywood Oak is mesmerizing. He began visiting the ancient tree near his home in England when his long time relationship was dissolving. He describes the importance of trees, and oak trees in particular and their place in human history. All this is fascinating, but the best part of this book is the author’s personal interactions with the oak and the multitude of creatures who call it home. One of the most beautiful and spiritual books I’ve ever read
