Sofie Davis is a small-town quilt shop owner, an avid supporter of Quilts of Vallor, and a native of Pine Hill, KY. Cole Aaron is a former Marine with a lot of baggage from his time in the service who moved to Pine Hill less than a year ago and joined the fire department. They are brought together through their volunteer work and the persistence of some of the Pine Hill residents, but Cole doesn't feel worthy. Can Sofie's joyful nature win him over? This is a cute, fun, heartwarming Hallmark story that was a quick read. I really enjoyed it and will look for more from this author.

Need a mental vacation? The town of Pine Hill, Kentucky is a top ten, small-town destination, especially during the holidays. Author Janice Lynn brings another tale packed with humor, personality and the complete range of emotions. This delightful town is full of larger-than-life characters who confront real situations and learn interdependence is the key to a successful life.

The meet-cute is an epic disaster for Cole and Sophie, proving that no good deed goes unpunished. The hope of redemption and healing inspires several out-loud discussions with them. True to form, the sweet, yet meddling older ladies cause a firestorm of issues that no travel guide can navigate.

Book one, Wrapped Up in Christmas, is not a prerequisite in the Quilts of Valor series, but is fantastic reading in its own right. I hope to see many more tales from Pine Hill.

I received a complimentary copy of the book without obligation. This book is my opinion.

Wrapped Up in Christmas Joy
5/5 Stars!

This was an extremely quick read for me as I picked it up one morning and realized it was 4 hours later and still hadn't moved. What a cozy, sweet and heartwarming read!

This is from the Hallmark Channel, so calling all of my Hallmark fans! I was excited to see that this is a second installment of a series and now I am going to go and read the first because, better late than never! :)

We start out meeting Cole, who is a marine who comes back home with low spirits during the Christmas season. Starting over in a town where no one knows him, Cole decides to donate some items to a church fundraiser and just so happens to also donate his journal in which he wrote some of his deepest and darkest thoughts from serving within the military. We're introduced later to Sophie, who finds and reads the journal and goes on her personal mission to find the owner of the journal. From there, we are on a journey that revolves around the theme of giving back to those who have given their service to our amazing country. I also loved the quilting talk throughout the novel; I just cannot say enough good things about this book!

You will have your heartstrings pulled while reading this and will likely feel all of the things: happiness, hope, sadness, nostalgia and love.

Bookstagrammers, do not miss this amazing read that comes out on 10/27/20!

Wrapped Up in Christmas Joy, a new novel by Janice Lynn, was such a delightful and heartwarming story.

Sophie Davis finds a journal in a box of donated books at her church. The journal is the writing from someone in the military. She sets out to discover who it belongs to.

Cole Aaron, a local firefighter, is a Marine who moves to Pine Hill Kentucky hoping to put his past behind him. He's written his deepest secrets about things that happened when he served. When he discovers that Sophie has read his journal, he tells her to throw it away. He wants nothing to do with Sophie, or her pity. But they end up volunteering together for the toy drive. Which throws them together. As Sophie gets to know Cole, she wants to make a Quilt of Valor for him. He refuses as he feels unworthy.

As only Hallmark can do, this story will definitely put you in the mood for Christmas. The ending is so incredibly touching. I loved how Janice Lynn wrote such compassion about the many hurts associated with finding peace after going through the horrors of war.

I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book which I received from Hallmark Publishing and NetGalley. All views expressed are my honest opinion.

This book came alive on the pages like it was a Hallmark movie! I look forward to the potential of this being on my TV screen excites me! I cannot wait!!! One of the best parts of this book is that at the end, there is not only a recipe for Dilly Duchess Potatoes, but a snippet of Christmas Charms by Teri Wilson. It begins with an ad for Hallmark Wines- I am soooo excited to sit and sip some of these bottles while I curl up next to my fire with either a fantastic Hallmark book or Holiday movie. Love me some Hallmark!!!
This book starts with Cole trying to bribe his fellow firefighters to be Santa, as he drew the winning candy cane making him Santa. We are taken on a journey of Cole trying on the suit, which is too small, but luckily he stumbles upon someone who can mend clothes and hooks him up with adjusting it to his height. He is dragged into holiday events despite his loathing of everything Christmas. He ends up having to help with the Holiday Toy Drive among many other events. He soon discovers many things about himself and we learn many things about him and his time in the military. The book just comes alive and ends in a nice big hug, which is how 2020 is going to end after all this drama, we are going to end it like a Hallmark movie with learning from everything that has happened and a big hug!

Cole Aaron is a wounded man and his scars run more than just skin deep. As a former military man, he has seen and done things he's less than proud of and in an moment of weakness, he wrote everything down in a journal. Just when he thinks the book is gone for good, it appears in the hands of pretty and perky Sophie who's read it. Cole's determined not to be one of her charity cases. He's a lost cause anyway. Beyond repair. If only she could understand that and just leave him alone.

All Sophie wants to do his help Cole heal. After reading his journal he accidently donated, Sophie finds herself drawn to the tortured firefighter. She wants to be his friend, he wants her to stay away.

This is the sequel to Janice's earlier book Wrapped Up In Christmas and I must say I really enjoyed this book. It was a very touching tale of redemption and love. A perfect story to read at Christmas time.

This book is appropriate for ages 13+ for some dramatic themes.

Janice Lynn brings us Cole Aaron, a former Marine turned firefighter at the Pine Hill Fire Department. He pulls the winning candy cane and gets to be this year's Santa in the parade. Sophie Davis stops by the Fire Department to bring a journal Cole had mistakenly placed in a box he donated to the church. They both knew that she saw the words he had written about the memories of his time in the military. This leads Cole to distance himself from Sophie who now knows about his failings. Sophie and her sister Isabelle own The Threaded Needle who own a boutique-style quilt shop. The Twenty-Second Annual Pine Hill Christmas Toy Drive ends up having Cole and Sophie work together to garner more businesses to donate their services and to gather the toys to be wrapped and delivered to the children of Pine Hill.

Events keep throwing Cole and Sophie together. Both Sophie and Cole's pasts interfere with their present. Will it color their future or will they be able to get past it?

Janice Lynn brings us along as Sophie and Cole discover more about each other as they keep meeting in town. I enjoyed reading about Cole and Sophie and look forward to another adventure. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. I would like to thank NetGalley and Hallmark Publishing for this privilege.

I started this book this afternoon and just could not put it down. I loved it from start to finish.

Cole is a marine who came home from the military thinking he was not a hero and someone that no one could be proud of. He trained and became a firefighter and was glad that no one in this town knew him and knew what happened in the military. He donated some things to a church fundraiser and happened to donate his journal that he wrote his deepest darkest secrets in. Sophie found that journal and read it trying to find the owner of the journal.

A very good book that tugs at your heart strings and makes you wanna laugh, cry and slap Cole all at the same time. A must read and it will put you in the mood for Christmas.
