I started reading this book and found that it was not for me. It didn't seem fair for me to review a book that I didn't finish.

What an adorable short story with just enough drama to create suspense but not too much to get stressed. Emilia must make ends meet after her parents pass and her sister runs off to the big city. With help from a few friends and the possibility of true love, she just might make it.

A sweet romance set in an old-fashioned town. I think it would appeal to most readers of romance as well as fans of baked goods! It will make you crave a sugary treat to go alongside this lovely story.

This was a wonderfully sweet historical short story. The characters were relatable and the story engrossing. Beside the romance, there is just enough mystery and intrigue to catch your attention. I would definitely recommend this book.
Thank you Judy Ann Davis, The Wild Rose Press and NetGalley for allowing me an advance copy for my honest feedback.

I received a complimentary copy of this book and I am voluntarily reviewing it.

This was a wonderful historical romance. It was sweet and very clean. I adored Emelia Stone and her tenacity to keep her house and bakery intact while facing multiple disadvantages (namely her sister). Joe Sawicki, her childhood friend, co-owns the ice company that keeps the town and others in ice during the year. He is her staunchest supporter.

I adored the plot and the secondary characters. I would love to read more especially Marian and Walter! This is a short read that is great for a quick bookcation away from life and it's troubles.

I would highly recommend this to anyone especially if they adorable sweet, clean historical romance.

A short and enjoyable story set in 1885 in central Pennsylvania about a girl who, along with her sister, inherited the family bakery when their parents died unexpectedly. The younger sister, Alice, in her late teens, was not interested in working (except for the paycheck) and wanted to try her wings at writing and the theater.
With all the responsibilities, Emilia, wasn't sure how she would be able to continue the operation of the bakery due to finances. However, the railroad that came thru the town was having a contest to see who could provide a dessert to be served to the passengers when the train would come thru the town. Emilia's friend, Joe, encouraged her to submit her huckleberry pie and huckleberry flavored ice cream in the contest. Winning the purse of the contest would enable Emilia to continue operating the bakery.
A copy of this book was provided by NetGalley for my review.

Oh my goodness, what a cute and sweet story! It is about life in the 1800s, in a small town. It reminded me of 'Petticoat Junction' meets 'Little House on the Prairie'. The description of small town life is sublime, I could almost feel the warm breeze on my face and hear the tree leaves rustle. The heroine is running a bakery that sold ice cream with her pies. She also did special order, custom embroidery and linens on the side. Her parents had been killed in a storm when a tree fell on their carriage
She lived and worked with her 18 year old sister who wanted to move to Pittsburpgh. When her sister left, the heroine was left alone to work at the bakery, finish the custom sewing and pay off the parents mortgage. The hero is her best friend since she was 6 years old and he was 9 years old. He had been in love with her for years and admired her strong work ethic. When her sister left, he was able to find her a good worker. The story is sweet but has a protagonist in it. The story Is an easy read, yet there are a few grammar errors. The characters are developed and likeable. I recommend with 4 stars because if the grammar errors.

i like that this book is set in the 1800s. it just wasn't my favorite way to tell this story. so much ice and ice cream. and very little of anything else. including romance.
