4.5 stars! It starts off with Mandy keeps getting detained at the airport after reporting a possible killing in the hotel room below hers. The police in Jamaica and then in the USA keep detaining her. This kept me guessing at what was going on. Then there were the cryptic comments about her not being permitted to travel outside of the USA had me hooked.

It soon after revealed that Mandy had gone to a retreat where she was humiliated by the wife (Susan) of the couple holding the retreat. The soon-to-be-ex wife (Susan) was prejudiced, fat shaming, and the opposite of what the retreat in Jamaica was to offer. Then it was revealed Susan had lied to her soon-to-be-ex husband (Chaz) for years as she put off getting pregnant.

The backstory of Chaz's parents having been disowned by the royal palace and exiled first to London, UK, and then they made their way to "Bronzeville" a Chicago neighborhood. Chaz wanted to run a meditation, Eastern principled based retreat, while his soon-to-be-ex wife wanted to hide her many malpractice lawsuits.

Amanda/Mandy is in her 30s (from her statement of her being advanced in age for her pregnancy) as is Chaz. After rescuing Mandy from Susan, Chaz spends a sexy weekend with her before she headed back to the USA. However, as everything falls apart for Mandy, she refuses any contact with Chaz, until she can't. Mandy is so much stronger and a badass than I thought she was in the beginning.

This was a romantic suspense read that kept me guessing at where it was going. Just when I thought that it would remain about the ex-wife and ex-husband, the truth behind why Mandy was on parole was revealed. It turned out to reveal some truths about the private prison system and the illegal profits that kept the women imprisoned unfairly.

With the big rescue at the end, I was more than satisfied and glad with the happily ever after and some unexpected twists.

Note: I received an advance reading copy from Netgalley. I have read some of books in the Kings Of The Castle series and all have delivered so far. I cannot wait to read the remaining books in this series. I am glad that there are various authors to discover.

I received a copy of this book from Netgalley. Thank you for the opportunity.
This is a fast paced book with plenty of action. The storyline is interesting and the writing is good.
However, there is a lot of going back and forth which makes the story difficult to follow. This was disappointing as the storyline could have been so much more engaging.
On the whole, a good book.

It took me a while to finish this book. It was rather slow in the beginning. I wasn't sure where it was going. At a certain point the book picked up . I began to like Mandy.. I realized that her behavior was a result of her tragic past.. Overall it was a good read. I would possibly read another installment in this series.

Mandy goes on a trip to Jamacia to help better herself and meets, Chaz. But he left her with something she wasn't expecting. Chaz and his soon to be ex are still working together, but that all changes when Chaz and Mandy Meet. Susan, being the evil person she is is determined to get rid of Mandy and keep her and Chaz apart by any means necessary. Mandy and Chaz have to decide if what they think they have is worth fighting for.

I have to say i really enjoyed this story. Not only was it refreshing to have a plus size heroine, but I could really see the love Chaz had for Mandy. I loved this story line and was enthralled right from the beginning of the story. There was romance, thriller and mystery all rolled into one story and I felt the authors did a very good job. I am anticipating the next book in the series.

This was the first book I’ve read in this series (Knights of the Castle) or its related series (Kings of the Castle), so I had no idea what to expect. What I got was an interesting mix of multicultural romance, suspense, yoga teachings, and a mini exposé of the US justice and prison system. I found the beginning to be rather confusing, as the authors dump you right into the action with the main character, Mandy McCoy, being detained by security officers at the airport in Jamaica. You don’t know what’s going on, but neither does Mandy. Gradually things get clarified, including a particularly mysterious sighting of someone with an eye patch.

Mandy has had a really rough life and, due to her experiences, doesn’t trust most men. Chaz, Mandy’s love interest, seems a bit too good to be true, and his ex-wife, Susan, is the ultimate vengeful ex. You truly wonder why they stayed married for so long.

Although this is the second in the series, each is designed as a standalone novel. Also, each book in the series is written by different authors.

Thank you to NetGalley, Macro Marketing, and the author Naleighna Kai, for an advance reader copy, in exchange for my honest review.

Mystery, suspense and romance are wrapped up in this delectable read. Despite an unconventional start to their relationship, Chaz and Amanda overcome obstacle after obstacle to reach their happy ending. With assistance from the Kings of the Castle, they are able to dismantle a corrupt justice system in Mississippi and right some detestable wrongs. This story is filled with action, sensuality as well as twists and turns that will keep you turning the pages. The second installment of Knights of the Castle is a MUST read! You won't be disappointed. Happy Reading!

My thoughts
Rating: 5
Would I recommend it? Yes
Would I read more of this series? Yes
Would more by these authors?Yes

First off I want to say thanks to author, as well as the publishers Independent Publishers Group ( Macro Publishing Group) and NetGalley for not only send me an ARC copy of it but also for inviting me to read and review it. And also thanks for introducing me to the series which I'm actually enjoying, because in the past I've tried to read other multicultural romance books and just couldn't get in to them but this series as soon as I start to read the story I tend to get lost in them and so far I've only read two books , this one and the first one King of Durabia by Naleighna Kai . I think no take that back the problem I had with the the ones I tried before the characters didn't seem real , and the story just never kept my attention, while the characters in these books seem real and the story does hold my attention plus they also bring to life stuff that can and does happen in real life. Which is betrayal as well as vengeance; jealousy and discrimination of power, control, racism and love .
The only problem I have is now I don't know who i like the best is it Chaz or Kamran . And after reading this one I can't wait to read the rest of this series,

Next up in the series is Knight of Bronzeville, the adventure takes us to Chicago Bronzeville area, Jamaica and back across the globe to Durabia.

Chaz Maharaj and Amanda McCoy both have their cross to bear. Chaz coming from humble beginnings, but making a name for himself has landed him in a loveless marriage. Amanda's life has been one illegal episode after another. She has tried everything to find some mental clarity and defies her parole to try and find it in Jamaica. It is here that the couple starts a budding romance, but it comes with a side disaster.

In Knight of Bronzeville, the authors touch on many subjects; prejudice, corruption, family betrayal, love, and marriage. I would have like to have seen a little more building and passion of the couple's union. I am enjoying this series and catching up with the characters from Kings of the Castle.

Mandy McCoy has had a rough life to say the least, but all of that was to toughen her core for the next twist, dips, and dives her life would take. After she survives a trip to Jamaica, her life goes from bad to worse. This story went in an entirely different manner than I thought it would. Mandy, meets the love of her life, loses him, gets and unexpected suprise, and an even bigger set back. Throw in a crazy ex, Susan, for giggles and you have a full movie playing out before you.
This novel is packed full of family drama, messy ex’s, nosey people, and egotistical maniacs. All the things we find in everyday life and with our own families. This was definitely an enjoyable read. I am enjoying the series., but so glad the books are stand alones.

When you’ve been conditioned by life’s disappointments to expect little from other people, you don’t know when you’ve found a treasure. This is the situation for Amanda McCoy, who’s had hard knocks all her life. A desire to treat herself to something outside of the normal humdrum of her life puts her in Jamaica, where she’s at risk.

While there, she meets Chaz Maharaj, who becomes her Knight when he rescues her from an embarrassing situation. Back on American soil, Chaz’s ex continues her relentless drive to win him back, despite her duplicitous behaviour during their marriage.

Aside from Susan’s shenanigans, the law is after Amanda. The Kings of the Castle join Chaz in pulling Amanda out of a situation sure to suck her into an abyss from which she might never emerge on her own.
Knight of Bronzeville will take you to several exotic locales and sweep you into Amanda’s journey from rejection and treachery to renewal and acceptance. Like a Phoenix, Amanda rises from the ashes of her past, to accept the realization that she deserves the love she didn’t know she craved.

Naleighna Kai and Stephanie Freeman will take you to desolate places to bring you out on the other side with proof that love, persistence, and brotherhood make the difference in our lives.

KNIGHT OF BRONZEVILLE co-authored by Naleighna Kai and Stephanie Freeman is the second instalment in the contemporary, adult, multi-authored KNIGHTS OF THE CASTLE multi-cultural romance series. This is businessman/model/singer Chaz Maharaj, and African American Amanda ‘Mandy’ McCoy’s story line. KNIGHT OF BRONZEVILLE can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story line is revealed where necessary.

Told from dual third person perspectives (Chaz and Mandy) KNIGHT OF BRONZEVILLE follows the quick building relationship between businessman/model/singer Chaz Maharaj, and African American Amanda ‘Mandy’ McCoy. On a trip to Jamaica, Mandy McCoy would find herself centred out during a yoga presentation, centred out for her size and body, only to be rescued by the yoga instructors husband, a man who desires something more from our story line heroine. A night spent with Chaz Maharaj is the least of her worries when Mandy finds herself the target of the local police, and a suspect in a murder at the local hotel. Yet again, her arrival home is met with suspicion and more questions by the American police when someone called in a bomb threat naming our heroine as the guilty party, followed by another rescue by Chaz Maharaj. Months will pass before Mandy has any more contact with our story line hero but by then their relationship will face another few hurdles including another arrest for our story line heroine.

KNIGHT OF BRONZEVILLE is a story of betrayal and vengeance; of jealousy and discrimination; of power, control, racism and love. The fast paced premise is engaging and entertaining; the romance is passionate but mostly implied; the characters are energetic and colorful. I did have a couple of issues with this particular instalment: Chaz and Mandy spend a limited amount of page time together resulting in no definitive sexual chemistry or palpable heat, in other words, the building romance was barely discerned. Their attraction did not feel mutual yet our hero was quick to claim Amanda McCoy as his own.

This is the second book in the Knight series and I must say this is a pager turner, just like the first book. In this storyline we meet Chaz Maharaj, his hateful wife Susan, Amanda McCoy who is Ellena’s sister.
Chaz and his wife Susan are at a Caribbean Resort for a Health, Meditation and Yoga, they are facilitating. When Amanda walks into the room to attend the conference Susan attacks her verbally because Amanda is a plus size woman and black. When Susan try to say she did not offer the workshop Amanda registered for, Amanda pulls up her receipt on her phone as proof Susan makes racist remark to Amanda. When Chaz saw what was happening he immediately came to Amanda’s defense and said he will work with Amanda and Susan can do the conference with the other participants, where some of the participants left because of how awful Susan treated Amanda.
When Chaz and Amanda are alone you can see the sparks that fly between them. One of those moments was when Chaz went into Amanda’s room in the suite and she was sleeping. Chaz was looking at Amanda’s thighs half covered by the bedding and Chaz wanted to undress and get in the bed with her but he thought to himself “ No, beloved, when I make you mine you must be awake. I want you to know and never forget us this night and forever.” I just felt the respect he had for her and he wanted to wait for Amanda to say she wanted him too.
There is something from her past that Amanda is afraid of and haunted by, Chaz being in a one way loveless marriage with Susan and now Susan is out for revenge against Amanda. Makes for a storyline with a lot of plots and twist, crooked law enforcement, prosecutors and judges, plus appearances of some of the Kings. So you will have to read the storyline to find out what happens because I don’t want to give any spoilers.
I highly recommend this book to read and I look forward to reading more books in the Knights of series, which each can be read as stand-alone.

I received a Arc from Netgalley for review and this review is of my own honest opinion and thoughts.

Knight of Bronzeville by Naleighna Kai and Stephanie M. Freeman is book two of the nine book Knights of the Castle series. This series is a spinoff of the Kings of the Castle series. The books in both series are standalones penned by various authors and can be read in any order.

Amanda “Mandy” McCoy travels to Jamaica for a wellness seminar and meets Chaz Maharaj, the handsome soon to be ex-husband of Susan Keller, the seminar host. Mandy and Chaz are instantly attracted to each other and begin a relationship that produces unexpected complications. Susan’s vengeful actions and the secrets in Mandy’s past lead to even more chaos until the complicated situation requires the intervention of the Kings of the Castle.

Kai and Freeman continue the Knights of the Castle series with an excellent novel that flows smoothly and shows no signs that there is more than one author. We’re introduced to vivid, well-rounded characters. The dialogue is vibrant, and the intense plot holds the reader’s attention throughout. This is a 5 out of 5 star read and I recommend it to all readers of romantic suspense and multicultural romance.

My thanks to Independent Publishers Group and NetGalley for the opportunity to read an advance copy of this book. However, the opinions expressed in this review are 100% mine and mine alone.

Being introduced to Chaz and Mandy was more fun than I'd originally anticipated. After the circumstances that brought them together, watching the instant chemistry between them, despite Chaz's current situation. There were so many ways that things between them could have gone left, but somehow, it managed to work itself out. Chaz's wife, Susan, was a REAL piece of work and was a worthy villain in this story, but you'll see what I mean when you get into the story for yourself.

This was a strong follow up to the King of Durabia, and I'll be looking forward to the next book in the series, Knight of South Holland. I am thoroughly enjoying the ride so far!

I received an ARC of “Knight of Bronzeville” from the authors “Naleighna Kai and Stephanie M. Freeman” via NetGalley.
The Men and Women that best-selling author Naleighna Kai have that are writing “Knights Of The Castle” are so in tune with each and the writing is awesome and is flowing smoothly.
Knight of Bronzeville has all the makings of romance, abuse of power, mystery, jealousy, betrayal, vengeance you name it has but it is oh so good.
Amanda “Mandy” McCoy is the sister of Ellene Kiley who we got up close and personal with in “King of Durabia” book # 1. Chaz Maharaj is another relative from the infamous Maharaj family (Devesh, Khalil, Vikkas, Jai, Chaz and Kamram).
While Mandy was driving in Mississippi, she is in a minor traffic accident and is taken into custody and finds herself in a corrupt system. No matter what Mandy does she can’t seem to getaway from the corruption in the judicial system.
Mandy is on a trip in Jamaica which she does not have the permission to travel outside of the U.S. for a retreat but finds out that she was misinformed by Chaz’s wife about what the retreat consists of. In steps Chaz and asks Mandy exactly what she was informed about the retreat and doesn’t take well to what Mandy is saying and takes it upon himself to give Mandy’s what she paid for and be her personal instructor.
Pick up your copy. You will enjoy the Knights just as much as the Kings.

They always say there's nothing like a woman scorned, but this book takes it to a whole new level of mastery when it comes to a woman's vengeance when the new love comes to town. You will find surprise after surprise with the twists and turns because of baseless lies. It will make you shutter to think how, in just one walk through n airport, you can change from an average person to marked for life as a criminal. Combined with a hint of international intrigue and you've got quite a story.

I love the love that kept the man "steadfast and immovable" until he had his woman. A lot of creativity went int this one. Great read.

A creative storyline that draws you in and keep you hooked until the very end. Great cast of characters who are unique and interesting. The author really knows how to create a good villain character, so devious and as much as you want to hate her you need to know what the crazy villain will do next.
The book has a good flow to it and you don’t want to put it down. Can’t wait to read more!!
