This book will have you laughing and at times crying. This is Kaylee and Landry’s story, but we see a lot of characters from other books. It has a small town atmosphere with delightful characters. This book Is part of a series but could be read as a stand alone. Thank you to net galley for an advanced readers copy.

This book did not disappoint. I really liked visiting Virgin River again. It was like we never left. It was such a nice treat to visit with Jack and Mel. This book will havevyou running the gauntlet of emotions, You will be laughing and crying at the same time.

I highly recommend this book. Even if you have never picked up a Grace Valley or Virgin River book. It won't matter. You won't be wondering what happened in previous books,

Return to Virgin River by Robyn Carr. Looked forwarded to returning to Virgin River and revisiting the delightful inhabitants. Kaylee and Landry's story was slow and evenly paced. No highs or lows. The prevailing sadness of Kaylee's mother's death overshadowed most of the book. The characters and town didn't seem to come alive until the last quarter of the book Then it was time for holiday preparations with more characters interacting and Virgin River came alive once again and new elements were introduced into the story.

Visit with Jack, Mel and the rest of the gang. Kaylee is an author struggling to finish a book due to her grief over her mother's death so she leaves her home in Southern California and heads for Virgin River where she has find memories of visits she made with her mother as a child. Her journey is rich and complicated but this is a magical place. I loved it.

The fun of reading books that are part of a series is being able to keep up with characters as life moves on. The downside is that if you get a long-running series, the author may feel it is necessary to to update you on "everyone's" life to the point that there are too many bit players running on and off the stage. It is a hard needle to thread--to bring in enough old characters to make readers feel "at home" in the new book without overwhelming the book with useless details about bit characters. Generally speaking Carr does fine with this, though if she errs it is on the side of too much information about too many useless characters, especially for someone who has not read the other books.



There is no plot carryover from the other Virgin River books. The main plot is the relationship between Kaylee and a local artist. His relationship with his ex is the main subplot. Kaylee is trying to heal from the death of her mother and write a novel that has been the subject of writer's block. She is hoping that a new location will help.



If you are not familiar with the Virgin River books you may get a little confused about who is who,or why they get named, but long-time fans of the series will enjoy visiting with old friends. To be published 10/12/20

Robyn Carr, once again, has written another wonderful and heartwarming story with old residents and new characters in Virgin River. The women are as strong as the men and the men are as sentimental as the women. In real life you would not find neighbours as friendly, as generous. or as helpful. Town spirit is phenomenal. Holidays come to life.
Honestly, if I could step into this story, this location, with these people, I would. Life, overall here is inviting and soothing.

This book was like reconnecting with family. I have read every Virgin River book so was thrilled to see a new one. This book did not disappoint. I will say if you haven’t read the other books in the series, you will be ok starting with this one. You get a sense that the characters have been talked about before but not enough that you are unable to follow along. My only warning is if you have not read the previous books get ready to buy, borrow whatever because you will want to see how this all started. I give this book an A++++!

I have always been a fan of Robyn Carr. I adore the Virgin River series and have read everything she's written. However, I wish I had skipped this title. Spoiler Alert: I wasn't pleased with the way this story developed. It was missing the tension and chemistry of her other titles. Parts of it were not believable either. The main character, Kaylee, had a fear of dogs. Meeting one friendly dog and working with him a bit, completely alleviated her fears. She never encountered another dog in any sort of unsupervised manner and this portion of the story-line felt unrealistic. I will continue to read Robyn Carr, but I wish I had let my memories of the "old" Virgin River prevail.

After years away from the Virgin River world she created, author Robyn Carr returns with this new entry and does not miss a beat. The loving sense of community and caring is still very much evident, and it is a pleasure to re-visit well-loved characters. Kaylee and Landry meet in Virgin River at a time they both need to work through issues in their past, in order to lay a foundation for what they begin to realize they each want, a new life together. Many readers will be looking forward to this book and they will not be disappointed.

After twelve years Robyn Carr takes readers back to her beloved fictional town of Virgin River, California. In Return to Virgin River we meet Kaylee Sloan, an author with writer’s block brought on by the loss of her mother in the past year. Friends have graciously allowed Kaylee to stay at their summer home in Virgin River so she can finish her book. When she arrives she finds the fire department extinguishing a fire that has left the home uninhabitable. Someone suggests she go to Jack’s Bar for a bite to eat and perhaps a lead on where she can find a new place to rent. The book takes off from there and I settled in for the enjoyable read I’ve come to expect from Robyn Carr. I loved catching up with several characters and places featured in previous books. And I loved seeing how Kaylee’s life changed in small ways that would impact the rest of her life. The Thanksgiving/Christmas theme played a big part in the book and led to the heartwarming ending. Return to Virgin River is a lovely gift to fans of the Virgin River series and Robyn Carr.
