Holy cow, I read this in one day, it was brilliantly written and leaves me waiting for the next book. I wasn’t thrilled with the three part story line but it’s easy to overlook when you get into the story itself.

This was my first Tiffany Reisz novel and let me tell you, the woman knows how to write filthy things! But more than that, this is actually well written. I enjoyed how much of an independent, strong woman Regan and how she isn't shy about her sexuality or her carnal pleasures. "The Pearl" is about Lord Arthur Godwick, who in order to pay off his brother's debts, he must acquiesce to 10 days with Regan and do whatever she wants. Overall, this was fun and hot, but I will say that the ending revelation of how Arthur and Regan are related turned me off and caused this rating to lose one star... Just not my thing.

This is my first erotic story from Tiffany Reid’s, but I loved it! I could tell through the story, even though it’s a stand-alone, I need to go back and read her previous books to get some of the other character’s stories. Arthur and Regan’s story was very compelling and I wanted more! I wish it was longer.

The Pearl is magical. And, of course, because it is Tiffany Reisz, it is also divinely decadent and downright delicious! This Godwicks series has captivated me from the start and I found The Pearl to be the simplest of the 3 books but no less addicting. With The Pearl itself at the center of the story, we once again are treated to yet another strong heroine in owner Lady Regan Ferry and her determination to permanently destroy the Godwick family and all that she has seemingly suffered at their hands, both in the past and the present. As she engages one Arthur Godwick as repayment for what his brother Charlie has incurred, never did she guess that the young Lord might just be her key to a happiness she had all but decided was impossible.
Reisz's writing is exquisite. The way she seamlessly guides us through this story of redemption and hope is nothing short of brilliant. Combining the most unlikely of pairings with the erotica she is known for had me savoring each and every page as Arthur falls for the demanding temptress that is Regan. As she fights her own surprising feelings for the young Lord, they engage in extremely sexy trysts that bring out the true desires for both of them, leaving them both beyond satisfied if not a little bit overwhelmed. I love that Reisz allows her characters, especially her heroines, to explore whatever feels the best, no matter the taboo nature that might be attached to them. There is no time for shame in her stories and watching as characters bloom sexually is part of the reason I can't get enough of her work.
The scene-stealing Zoot is a wonderful addition to this book but I would be remiss in not mentioning that devilishly wonderful rake who is Lord Malcolm, is truly at the heart of this entire tale. I was reminded of a certain man named Clarence and his quest for wings as Malcolm offers some otherworldly help in righting a few of the Godwick past wrongs. With that help providing some very interesting occurrences that only fuel the burgeoning love and want between Regan and Arthur. The lovable rogue who is Malcolm is quite charming, even though most of his 'appearances' are decidedly mysterious. But that didn't prevent me from loving him once again, as he kept me and our couple both amused and wildly baffled throughout.
Arthur is a gem of a man and his devotion to the hardened Regan was truly lovely. His talent for satisfying her was full of passion and true emotion and his capability to be all things to the skeptic that is Regan endeared himself to her even when she was full of denial. He truly is a keeper and I just loved him and how he wasn't afraid to go after what he wanted no matter how many times he was pushed away.
In the end, The Pearl has many meanings, with the requisite Reisz symbolism both clever and bewitching. The entire story is almost like a scavenger hunt, where subtle hints together with more blatant clues lead to an HEA that is really well-deserved. The unique use of paintings once again to steer Regan and Arthur in the right direction adds that splendid touch that will always keep me coming back for more. Hoping that this is not farewell to the Godwick saga, The Pearl is yet another jewel in this outstanding collection and I happily give it a huge 5+++ stars!

Interesting concept. I enjoyed the plot of an erotica with a bit of paranormal. I was really excited about the dominant/submissive relationship that was hinted at in first couple of chapters, but as the book progressed that felt flat and it wasn't explored properly.
The last chapter could have easily been missed out.
Otherwise a solid mid range book.

The Pearl, the third book in the Godwicks Series, is phenomenal. This is a stand-alone with some references to Red and The Rose, but you will still get the gist of the story.
The Godwicks have a daughter, Lia, and two sons, Arthur and Charles. Since Arthur is the oldest son, he inherits the lot, leaving Charles a bit futile. Charles decides to peacock himself by running up a substantial debt that he cannot repay. Charles gives away his parent's favorite painting, a painting of Lord Malcome, his great grandfather. Arthur enters into a deal with widow Regan Ferry, owner of The Pearl Hotel.
As with Red and The Rose, this one is similar in some aspects, crossing the fantasy/fiction realm.
All is not what it seems!

“I’ve had to be cold for so long”, she said. “I don’t know if I can remember how to be warm.”
The Pearl by Tiffany Reisz is the third book in The Godwicks series, which is highly erotic, highly mystical, and artistically evocative. Whilst this book is part of a series it can absolutely be read as a standalone, however, every single book in this series has been superbly fabulous, so we highly recommend reading The Red and The Rose as well! It is no secret that Tiffany Reisz is one of our all-time favourite Authors. There really is something about her flawless writing, her sense of humour and quick liners. The banter, creativity and complex layered characters are second to none. Her books are compelling.
“You can try to hate me, hate us, all you want, but I know the truth. You hate yourself.”
In The Pearl, we meet Lord Arthur Godwick (the son of Mona from The Red) who, as an overprotective brother, offers to pay his brother’s debt to the owner of The Pearl Hotel, Lady Reagan Ferry. The debt is to be paid off in bed, which seems fitting, as The Pearl was formerly known as a brothel frequented by good old, Sir Malcolm Godwick. The connection between Reagan and Arthur was on fire! Her, being older in her early thirties and dominant, and him being in his early twenties and submissive to her demands. It was tantalisingly HOT! Tiffany Reisz, without question, writes the most amazing heroines, we have never come across one we did not fall utterly in love with. They truly are the most compelling, strong, funny, loving, sensual and endearingly vulnerable powerhouse characters. And my oh my Arthur, be still our hearts, what a wonderful man. A powerful man, who truly loved Reagan using his body and mind as her own personal playground of discovery and satisfaction.
“Why are you in a good mood? It’s annoying me,” she said.
“Why are you so cross? You’re the one who gets to fuck me tonight.”
“Are all the Godwicks like you?” she asked?
“Clever, charming? Desperately attractive?”
“Obnoxious? Sardonic? Insufferably arrogant?”
Fantasies are erotically brought to life in The Pearl through the medium of art, and it was both provocative and highly sensual. It was passionate, philosophical, and emotional as Reagan is on a journey of personal forgiveness, untangling invisible bonds and freeing herself from the past, her mind and life’s consequential restraints. Tiffany Reisz once again delivers a flawlessly written masterpiece that hits your heart with an overwhelming impact. We wanted more ‘afters’ from Reagan and Arthur, such was the comprehensive depths of their characters that we felt we knew them inside out hence we were left bereft when we had to leave them. But such is life when you are addicted to Tiffany Reisz, her stories and her characters. It can never be enough. Sophisticated intellectual erotica at its most magnificent!
‘With Arthur, a thousand years in his arms wouldn’t be enough.’

As always, the return to the land of The Godwicks is surreal and magical. Thrown into the magic of art, paintings with meaning and things that go bump in the night. Tiffany Reisz never fails to amaze me with her her poetry and knowledge of history, art and mythology. Lord Arthur Godwick rarely takes what he wants because he fears what he wants is not the norm. Thrust into the world of The Pearl by his brother's lack of common sense, he does what he has to in order to pay the debt his brother has with The Pearl's owner Regan Ferry. A world of lust, revenge, twists and turns that make your heart stop is also a world of submission and domination that keeps you completely riveted until the end. Tiffany Reisz is a master storyteller and every one of her books is worth reading because you learn so much about history and about yourself.

Intriguing, fascinating and provocative, The Pearl is book 3 in the erotica series The Godwicks, but can be read as a stand-alone. In fact, I didn't read the previous books yet (but plan on doing so after reading this book) and I appreciated how the author seamlessly recaped the first 2 books without taking anything away from this story's natural flow.
Altough I am not a fan of the third person POV, it worked really well here. The characters and their interaction is fascinating to me. The writing style is very elegant and I appreciate how the author uses art to drive the story and create a supernatural and mysterious atmosphere. I got immersed in the story from the first page and read everything in one sitting. I highly recommend it and can't wait for the next book in the series.

This is the third instalment of the Godwicks series and the first Tiffany Reisz that I have read. Lord Arthur Godwick is summoned to the Pearl hotel, only to discover his younger brother is badly in debt and has taken a family heirloom to cover it. Obligated to repay it, Arthur is then used to defend the family honour and get the painting back. An erotic romance tale that is believable, contextual and tastefully done. The situation gets complicated until the final outcome reveals more about the family history. It is a book for adults who enjoy such a genre and is rated 4 stars.

Tiffany Reisz is going to be an auto-buy author for me at this point. I don't know why I haven't read more of her books before, but wow, I love her writing style and characters. Before this one, I had only read her "men at work" series but I immediately bought the other two books in this series to devour! Now let's get down to the nitty-gritty! (Warning, there are spoilers below so proceed with caution!)
What I loved:
-Arthur and Regan were made for each other in my mind. Regan needs someone she can feel safe and protected with and Arthur needs someone to protect. They fulfill each other's sexual and emotional needs so beautifully and I loved the development that their relationship went through from where they started to where they ended!
-Arthur and Regan meet through Arthur offering his body to her for 10 nights in exchange for bailing his brother out of the debt he has wracked up at the hotel (and to get back the family's prized painting). I loved how they met and Regan's immediate understanding of just what Arthur needed in bed, even if she originally began to do it for revenge.
-Arthur's ability to fully and completely trust Regan was so hot and beautiful!!
-The paranormal aspect of the ghost of Malcolm was so unexpected (I haven't read the first two books in the series, though I'm going to as soon as I finish writing this!) and I loved it! This idea of a dead relative interfering in the life of his future relatives was so fun!
-Regan and her ability to overcome her trauma from her past marriage was so inspiring and I loved how she left for months to Paris to rediscover herself! And I loved how Arthur eventually went to go find her after being gone for so long! So romantic, I was melting!
What I didn't love:
-I'm going to be honest, there was only one thing that I didn't like and is the reason it's 4 stars instead of 5 and it feels petty, but I honestly didn't see the point of it and it immediately brought me out of the story. Arthur and Regan are second cousins? Second half cousins? I'm not too sure how exactly they're related but the shock of it tainted the story for me, didn't really add anything substantial, and took away from the growth of Regan and what she did to be able to get to where she was (from poor to part of high society). It felt like it didn't work and after the revelation, it was just in the back of my mind for the rest of the book so for that reason, I had to dock it a star.
conclusions:
READ THIS BOOK!! Or don't, I can't control what you do or don't read, but I loved and adored both Arthur and Regan and cannot wait to dig into the previous books in this series since I haven't yet read them! (I also am going to be binging all of Tiffany's books. She's writing what my heart desires and I can't believe I haven't read more of her books because they're just what I love!)
*I received this ARC through NetGalley and voluntarily read this book. my thoughts and opinions are my own. Thank you, NetGalley and 8th Circle Press for giving me the chance to read an advanced copy!*

The deliciously deviant Godwicks are back in The Pearl. Author Tiffany Reisz takes the eldest Godwick son and his lover on a journey of submission and self-discovery that is a fantastic mix of sizzling eroticism and honest emotion.
I adore Arthur. He loves his family, but he’s the black sheep of the Godwicks in that he’s not as frivolous (as he sees them) or insatiable as the rest (comparatively speaking – he’s still blazingly sensual). The twenty-one-year-old has an old soul and a maturity beyond his years. He’s preparing to start training as a Medical Support officer in the Army, but before that he has to get his youngest brother out of debt to the owner of The Pearl, Regan Ferry. When he agrees to work off Charlie’s debt in Regan’s bed, submitting to her every desire, it unlocks something in both of them. Arthur has kept his submissive desires a secret but with Regan he’s free to be himself. I loved that he desired to both protect and serve; he’s a dreamy mix of dependable hero and dirty sub.
Regan wasn’t born to wealth; she had to sell herself in marriage to an older, controlling man in exchange for the security she desperately desired. She made her choice, but sacrificed much to do so. She’s closed off even to herself at times, but I loved her as much as Arthur. She’s a young widow who has survived a horrible man and I wanted to see her find herself again. She resists falling for Arthur and her reasons are ones I will leave readers to discover.
Regan and Arthur’s journey is decadent and emotional. At the center of it all is art and Ms. Reisz’s knowledge and passion for the subject shines through as it does in all the Godwicks stories. This time it’s female artists who are the starting point for Regan and Arthur’s fantasies. And though The Pearl spends more time grounded in reality than the first two Godwicks books, that doesn’t mean the fantasy elements disappear. If you’re familiar with the Godwicks series then you won’t be surprised that the ghost of Arthur’s great-grandfather, the wickedest Godwick of them all, has a role to play in Arthur and Regan’s story. The interfering spirit is as unsubtle as ever and he’s a true delight.
The Pearl captivated me from beginning to end. Regan tugged on my heartstrings and was a heroine I was happy to root for. Arthur just plain melted my heart and I loved that he wore his on his sleeve. He and Regan made a fantastic couple and I cannot wait to enjoy their story again and again and again.

I enjoyed this so much. Tiffany Reisz is a queen and I pretty much enjoy every book she writes. I was unaware of the other books in the “series” when I requested this book. But they can be read as a stand-alone if you want. Arthur was a cute main character. The only thing was that I actually really thought this was a Victorian Lit Setting Novel until I got a bit in and they made 21st century references. But that wasn’t a big deal. The smutty scenes are always 10/10 though!

I love this author! She writes such incredible stories with unique theme! The little paranormal spin on this series is just enough to feel a little gothic and doesn’t take away from the story! TR writes such delicious erotic romance with fleshed out plots, dialogues and characters. The Pearl is just as fabulous as The Red and The Rose and will leave you feeling breathless and hoping ur partner is home !! :)
I want to read more about Malcolm! Especially now ;)
ARC PROVIDED BY NETGALLEY IN EXCHANGE FOR AN HONEST REVIEW

Arthur Fitzroy is the eldest son and heir of the Earl of Godwick, but he’s also the odd end of his family. While waiting to start his army training as a medical officer, he’s staying at the family house in London and when he receives a message to discuss his younger brother, he just wishes to have winged feet.
Regan Ferry is the owner of The Pearl, a hotel famous for catering to the peerage and obnoxiously rich since day past and, to make it more interesting, it used to be a favorite playground for the infamous Lord Malcom, the 13th Earl of Godwick.
Upon finding out his brother has racked up a bill either of them can possibly pay, Arthur will strike a bargain with the mysterious Regan and they’ll embark on a journey of both romantic and erotic self-discovery.
This was a fast and interesting read filled with secrecy, spooky interventions and unexpected revelations. Similar to the best aspects of the first book, Arthur and Regan’s story is a good read if you like the genre. Some people might not care for some of the racy stuff, but given the couple’s past and proclivities, I didn’t feel any of it was out of place.
I have found in Ms. Reisz a new favorite author as I really enjoy her writing style and her knowledge of mythology and art history as displayed in these books.

Lord Arthur Godwick's brother, Charlie, is deeply in debt with the owner of The Pearl, Lady Reagan Ferry.
The Pearl is a hotel which offers something more than just a bed to sleep.
As payment, Charlie offers a painting. But it's a family really valuable possession so, Arthur refuses.
What does Lady Reagan want instead of the painting? Well, easy... She wants Arthur. Yep, you are reading correctly. She wants him to sleep with her.
And that's the beginning of a story full of passion, steamy scenes, mistery and art.
I liked the story. Although I sometimes struggled with the supernatural parts.

Reisz is known for her erotic story telling but this has a mystery/thriller feel to it. This is the third book in the Godwick series but not necessary to read the others to follow. It’s the third generation basically, all connected to Lord Malcolm, the man in the painting. The story is told in three parts, Arthur then Regan and then an epilogue. It was definitely erotic, each chapter had activities that related to a painting, listed as chapter headings. The mystery aspect is something or someone is aiding in the matchmaking of Arthur and Regan. It was easy to like these characters and even understand their connection, I really enjoyed the mystery aspect. This was probably my favorite of the series. I’ve written my review voluntarily after receiving an early copy from Netgalley.

The Pearl by Tiffany Reisz is a standalone erotic romance and the third book in The Godwicks series. I enjoyed this book a lot. It has interesting characters, a lot of art references, a touch of paranormal, and, of course, a lot of sexy times. It also has an age-gap romance between an older woman and a younger man, which is one of my favorite tropes. If you are looking for a steamy read to keep you warm during the cold winter months, make sure to grab this book!

Blown away.... This book gave me the chills with lord Malcolm.... I couldn't put it down until I finished it all the way to the end.... Goes to show you that men can be submissive too.... I love this author!

Tiffany Reisz's books are like nothing else! They are sure to break anyone out of a reading slump because they are truly so mesmerizing. Her unqiue combination of art history, erotica, romance, and light paranormal happenings set them apart from a crowded romance field. This book did not get me very emotionally invested in the arc of the characters, but I was nonetheless satisfied by the reading experience; it's economical and meticulously crafted.
