The Pearl was very well written. I was drawn to the romantic suspense of Regan & Arthur’s story so much from the beginning. Honestly, I didn’t like the ending, I thought there needed to be more said, but I do understand it’s up to the readers interpretation too. The constant theme of art throughout the book was very interesting and different. One thing is for sure the thought of pearls will have you thinking something different from now on. I do enjoy reading Tiffany Reisz’s books and this one will definitely not be my last.

"What adult man would enjoy being treated like the spoiled pet of a pampered princess?"

Um...Arthur? Or, as she calls him, Brat. I always get excited when Tiffany Reisz releases a new masterpiece. I'm addicted to her writing. She makes me laugh and blush and sigh in no particular order.

This series, The Godwicks is different from any of the others I've read. It's got a bit of magic and suspense that makes it even more intriguing. The history and art and scandalous behavior are very entertaining and the passionate payment of a debt had me reconsidering my opinion of long-term debt. In this particular case, the longer the better.

I've really enjoyed this series and I'm excited to see where the author takes us next. Wherever she leads I'll follow. The line forms here...

Recently widowed and the new owner of The Pearl, Lady Reagan Ferry is upholding the mystique and debauchery of the hotel. When a client runs up a sizable bill, Reagan’s solution is to fetch Lord Arthur Godwick to reconcile his brother’s debt and exact revenge on his family. For Arthur, he accepts Reagan’s proposal and they discover more than they expected.

“I think you’re a collared dove. The collar’s already a part of you, born on you.”

Drawing inspiration from female artists, the storyline unfolds with narratives from paintings combined with eroticism, fantasy, and mystery. As Reagan and Arthur begin to delve into the dynamic of their relationship, each begins to reveal more about their influences and the past.

“Enough was enough. Too much was perfect.”

What I enjoyed the most about this book is how the storyline was entwined with fine art. I also liked Arthur and what he valued. Of course, Arthur’s need to please Reagan was the sugar on top. Though I was hoping for some more exploration, the pearl scenes were steamy. Lastly, the moxie of a secondary character thoroughly enriched the story.

The Pearl is an erotic romance infused with mysterious elements that would appeal to those looking for a unique tale of finding a connection.

What a delicious tale this was!

Arthur and Regan’s book was all the beautifully erotic storytelling you expect from a Tiffany Reisz novel but this time with a dash of a little something “other”. The language is just beautiful, the characters intriguing and the chemistry had such a sensual feel I was hooked. Definitely recommend.

The Pearl is the third instalment of The Godwicks series but can be read as a standalone. It is a story of Love, Deceit and Revenge in three parts. The first part is told by young Lord Arthur Godwick, the eldest son of Earl Spencer and Countess Mona Godwick . He constantly cleans up after his younger brother Charlie and during the book we find out the reasons why. The second part is told by Lady Regan Ferry, the owner of The Pearl Hotel and Sir Jack Ferry’s widow. The teller of the third part would be a spoiler so I’ll let you discover it for yourself.
The story starts when Arthur is called to the hotel to bail out his brother yet again. This time, however, the debt won’t be cleared by money but by a painting and Arthur himself. Charlie has played right into Regan’s hands as she has set her sights on revenge on The Godwicks and going to use Arthur to get it. She gives Arthur 10 days to cater to her every sexual whim and she will return the painting, a family heirloom, which Charlie has given her.
The painting is of Lord Malcolm who used to live at the hotel and is the boys great grandfather. There is a strange history to the painting and it is involved in some of the more weird and unusual happenings in the book. It is also central to Regan’s complicated plans.
Each chapter heading is a famous painting or a piece of art and the author tells us all about them as she weaves them into the story. The reader gets some fascinating stories and information about the artists and their work.I actually looked up all the art described after I finished the book.
Regan has been lonely and too busy to date so this arrangement suits her fine. Arthur isn’t like the rest of his family, he never gets into trouble and gets embarrassed by their antics. He isn’t very sexually experienced but finds Regan brings out his naughty side.
There is so much more to both Arthur and Regan and it is a fascinating read as the author slowly reveals everything behind their stories. They are both so complex and my heart went out to them as we found out the struggles they’ve been through. They have some very steamy scenes as he works off the debt and it gets very emotional at the end.
Some of the story is easy to understand but some bits just totally confused me. I found the book very difficult to get into at first but once I learnt more about the pair then I really enjoyed it. Be prepared for some surprises and bizarre events. The ending made me very happy and I dare any reader not to fall for Arthur as he such a kinky sweetie.

The beginning of the book was certainly much more entertaining than the ending, this was because it felt like the stakes and the tension was relatively higher than the later parts of the story where everything was resolved a bit too quickly. Brushing away the sometimes funny english slang, and the weirdly placed fantasy sections in the book, the smut was enjoyable and if not, entertainingly funny with the different ways Reisz described cock. One of my main issues as I've stated was how easy everything was solved, also the quick pacing of it all. I understand it's a standalone and the point was for it to sort itself out, but I feel like it could've dealt deeper into the fears each character had, and also highlight the family relations within the Godwicks.
Now, even if the smut was entertaining, and some parts were really eye opening fun, the fact that they're second cousins and still in love.... vomit inducing. No.

So The Pearl was the book I didn’t realise I needed! Sexy, sultry and mysterious, I devoured it in just a few hours. A mix of art, erotica, contemporary and the paranormal - it doesn’t sound like it should work, but it really does.

Arthur’s brother is balls deep in debt to Regan Ferry and the only way to get him out of it (without losing a family heirloom) is to agree to pay off the debt in Regan’s bed. However not everything is as it seems and Arthur soon finds himself in the middle of a revenge plot. Suddenly the sensible Lord Godwick is no longer in charge and as much as he doesn’t want to admit it, he loves it.

What a thrill ride of a book. Hot as hell sex scenes, mixed with some creative use of art and jewellery and I can see why Tiffany Reisz is highly rated in this genre. Her writing style is engaging and fast paced, leaving little time to catch your breath.

Although this is book three in the series, it can easily be read as a stand-alone and I wasn’t lost having not read the first 2 books. Now that I’ve read this one though, I’ll definitely be reading more of Tiffany’s work.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher (8th Circle Press) for providing a copy. All opinions are my own and provided willingly.

5 Erotic Stars- Tiffany Reisz is the gold standard of erotica and storytelling in my book. But don't just take my word for it, you can take Publishers Weekly, “This is erotica done right." They even gave her the coveted Starred Review!

Loved reading the fabulously written romance story. When Lord Arthur Godwick discovers his younger brother is in debt to the owner of The Pearl, Regan Ferry, and has given her their mother's prize painting, Arthur agrees to Regan's plan to repay the debt. Read the highly recommended, riveting story full of twists and turns, and a must read love story.

Reisz's writing style is magical and lyrical as she spins a world of seduction and mystery. The Pearl is very much erotica but also paints a solid picture of the characters and their motivations (even if those motivations are purely sexual). Reisz has a gift for erotic storytelling that makes me want to seek other works by her.

When Lord Malcolm gets up to his ghostly tricks, you know things are going to get steamy.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for letting me read an eARC of this book.

I read The Red (hah) several months ago and honestly loved it. Sometimes you’re just in the mood for a good erotic read and that one was awesome, so my surprise when I saw there were more books in the series was great. This one I found to be a little more tame than the red, no crazy Minotaur dream sequences, but it was still super enjoyable and I found myself loving the characters even more. Regan is so emotionally strong, and the Brat is so charming, and together their banter and deep feelings for each other adds something so special to this book I couldn’t put it down. If you’re looking for something steamy, this is probably a book you’ll love.

You will NEVER look at pearls the same way again after reading The Pearl.

Tiffany Reisz, it has to be said, is an incredible author. She writes a fiction book as if it’s non fiction. She mentions and accurately describes priceless works of art both painting and sculpture. She knows facts about the artists and notable people throughout history.

And so impressive to me, her writing, sentence structure, punctuation, stylized editing. All flawless. Seriously, flawless. I did not find one error or have to read any sentence more than once because of a mistake in the entire novel. It was amazing.

The story centers around Arthur and Regan. Arthur is summoned to The Pearl hotel to once again rescue his brother. He doesn’t know until he gets there that his brother has racked up a $100,000 pound bill at the hotel. Regan has accepted the Godwicks most prized family painting in exchange for the bill. Arthur knows he can’t let Regan keep the painting but doesn’t have the money either. So Regan decides she will take Arthur, his sexual services, for ten nights as payment.

Now is when we find out Reisz can also write erotica. In a role not often seen Regan is the Dom and Arthur the submissive. For me, that twist was a little hard to get used to. Instead of just playing the Alpha woman Regan just seemed mean and brash. But Arthur loves it and their strange relationship begins to grow. By the end of the story, you do understand Regan better and see she isn’t as “hard” as she seems and the dynamic works between her and Arthur. Every sexual encounter is HOT. Those moments will leave you breathless and well ummm just turned on! Let me just say, you will never look at pearls the same again. Every long strand of pearls or large pearl drop pendant you see (maybe forever) will make you warm, make you blush, and make you... many other things. It may have been the name of the hotel, but that is not what will linger in your mind when this story is over.

Layered into this growing relationship and ten erotic nights there is also a story revolving around Arthur and his brother and parents, Regans mother and her family roots, and ghosts. Yes I said ghosts. There are many a falling book, paintings being moved, wine being drugged, and dream that in part becomes reality. All through ghosts. It is an interesting drama, suspense, mystery, ghost, romance, erotica story all rolled into one.

This is definitely a book that will stick with me, even without having read the first 2 in the series (which really makes me wish I had started in the beginning just to be even more invested in the Godwicks).

This is book is unique and I did like that but it is just not for me. I gave it 3 stars because it's not the authors fault I didn't get into it. Based on the blurb I thought the book was a historical book which it is not but again that is not the authors fault and while I do not read a lot of contemporary books that is not the reason this one didn't do it for me.

I had a really hard time connecting with or even liking Regan. I prefer alpha males.

This is my first Tiffany Reisz book and I think I will try something else by her before I close the door.

I recommend this book for anyone looking for something different in their contemporary erotic romance.

I received a copy of this book via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

*Thank you to NetGalley for an eARC of this novel which I received in exchange for my thoughts.*

This book was so interesting. I have not read a Tiffany Reisz yet, though I have many on my TBR pile. This one was quite the place to be dropped into. Though this is the 3rd novel in a series, it was very compelling and from what I saw, the stories are only losely connected.

This story involved a sex bargain of sorts. Arthur is a 21-year-old man, whose 18-year-old brother Charlie has gotten into some debt and trades it for a family painting worth a lot of money. To stop this from happening, Arthur goes to the woman, Regan Ferry, who holds it and asks to pay it back in some way. She says, he may pay off the debt with 7 nights of dates at her command. Yes, command. We have a Lady Domme situation!!!

I never read enough female Dominant books and this one was an absolute delight. These two have crazy chemistry and there are some very sexy scenes shared between them. Let's just say the image of a Pearl necklace has never been done quite like this… like… wow.

The story is told in a kind of interesting way, and I was a bit confused by some of it.

I still give it a 4/5 stars and I may even reread parts of this at times. I really enjoyed myself.

If there is one thing you can count on from this author, it is a highly erotic story, as two characters opening themselves up for new experiences - both inside and outside the bedroom.

In book three of this series, we are introduced to Lord Arthur Godwick who is trying to right the wrongs of his brother, Charles. Namely settling debts at The Pearl, a hotel with a long history of debauchery. Leading that hotel and overseeing the debt is Regan Ferry, and she has a highly unconventional plan to settle that debt - Arthur must submit to her every sexual demand for 10 days. Rough gig, lol.

While Arthur is reluctant at first, it doesn't take long before he is putty is Regan's very capable hands. Like other heroines from this author, Regan is an independent woman who isn't ashamed of her sexuality and open to pressing someone's limits. And "the pearl" has more than one references in this book (let your imagination run wild with that one).

There is also a paranormal element in this story, but it is not a big one, if that isn't your thing. The main point of it is to give the characters pause in their judgements of one another and see a path beyond 10 days.

Although I didn't have a strong connection to either of the main characters, this story has all of the elements that have kept me coming back to this author - unique plotlines, kindle melt-worthy scenes, along with a good dose of humor. If you are a fan of this author, you are sure to enjoy this one!

This is my first Tiffany Reisz book and it won’t be my last. Although this is book 3 in the series, it reads as a standalone.

Lady Regan Ferry is a tragic character. Treated horribly by her dead billionaire husband, left with an unfulfilling life, and living with a ticking time bomb, she has nothing to lose but get revenge on the rich, entitled spoiled brats of the Godwick family, namely the young heir apparent himself, Lord Arthur Godwick. But her hate turns to something else when she realizes Arthur is much more than he appears. He is wise beyond his years and follows her orders with grace and anticipation.

Arthur is self-disciplined and sensible and is biding his time to join the military. Making the deal with the beautiful widow to get his family’s prized painting back of his notorious ancestor, Lord Malcolm Godwick, is demeaning but intriguing. After all, with his military academy training, he knows how to follow orders. Not only is Regan cool and demanding when he first meets her, but he discovers her sensuality as well as her vulnerability and despair. In her company, he feels like a man for the first time.

But that is not all of the story. The deal is made, the revenge will be exacted, but the mysterious and magical painting of Lord Malcolm Godwick, has a plan of his own.

I adore the heartfelt emotions between Arthur and Regan. They are both so much more than they appear. Aloof and cool on the surface, but filled with desperation and sadness underneath. The erotic sex scenes are more sensual and passionate than I’ve seen in a while. I guess I like the idea of the man being the submissive for a change, but not so much that he appears weak. In fact, Arthur is Regan’s hero in many ways and shows his protective side when strange things start to happen.

Supporting characters include Arthur’s willful and unruly brother, Charlie, who holds an undercurrent of hostility toward Arthur that is uncovered in the story. In addition, Regan’s assistant, Zoot, is a mischievous and intuitive young woman who needs a story of her own.

What I also liked about this book is Regan’s use of paintings, including the one of Lord Malcolm, to set the scenes of her seductions. As an artist herself, Regan explains the stories behind the paintings which are fascinating and a brilliant addition to the story. I must admit I looked up each painting on the Internet to get a feel of what was happening in the story.

This book is sensually romantic, magical, and mysterious. A jewel of a read. I recommend it highly for those who love art and enjoy the awakening of new love between an older woman and a younger man.

Thank you to Ms. Reisz and Netgalley for giving me the opportunity to read this book with no expectation of a positive review.

This is such an amazingly brilliant concept for a series. Delicious. Sensual. Filled with artistic visualization. I wanted to light up a cigarette afterwards, but settled for some chocolate. This is the most intimate of art appreciation vignettes and I loved looking up and enjoying the artwork along with the storytelling.
The gorgeous and licentious Pearl hotel is the setting for this novel. Its storied past had been the perfect setting to many fabulous and scandalous stories during its lifetime. Lady Regan Ferry is the owner of this hotel, and indeed orchestrates the sequence of events. Lord Arthur is the handsome young man about to learn a great deal about the world.
The Pearl surprised me initially as I started out disliking two primary characters. But Tiffany did not take long to wrap me in her story telling magic. Not only did I become involved with the characters but did not put the book down until finished. Tiffany Reisz knows her craft inside and out and it is such a joy to see it in full naughty display inside the walls of the Pearl. Highly recommend!!

This was the more emotional of the Godwick stories thus far. Regan is lost. She doesn’t feel like she is deserving of anything. I enjoyed Arthur and how he sees Regan. I liked them together and how they helped each other through their hurdles in life. Through Tiffany Reisz’s great storytelling we are given a soul-searching story filled with emotion, steaminess, complicated characters, and little mystery.

A fantastically written story of an arrangement to settle a debt that turns into a beautiful story of finding oneself and finding love.

“When you’ve been ice all your life, nothing is more terrifying than seeing yourself start to melt.”
“Ice doesn’t die when it melts. It just gets wet.”
