Art, ghosts and dreams invade the affair between Lord Arthur Godwick and Regan Ferry. What Regan started as payback to the Godwicks, turns out not to be payback at all. Arthur is very willing to be dominated as her slave. Paintings moved and books falling open are clues with dreams that have meaning to Regan. Messages for her to embrace the two passions in her life. The art she gave up and the man she loves. Then they discover a secret. A very hot erotic romance between an older woman and a younger man. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book.

I requested this book because I'm a fan of the author's Original Sinners series. I haven't read the first two books in this series, but The Pearl stands alone quite well.
Unfortunately, this story just didn't work for me. There was a bit of a paranormal element and I'm a fan of the genre, however, I almost wish it were left out. When I read paranormal, I need more of a commitment to it and this felt more paranormal-lite. Like, if I was their friend and they told me everything that happened to them, I'd just think it was coincidence or drugs.
Even with the paranormal and the kink, I was pretty bored. I wasn't very invested in Arthur and Regan's relationship, I quickly tired of Regan's rants about her deceased old guy husband, and there was no story outside of their trysts.
I seem to be in the minority here, so I'm sure most others will love it.

This book fits right into the rest of the series! I enjoyed this one and thought Arthur and Regan were interesting characters. Their personalities really drive the story forward and I appreciate how Reisz tied this installment together with the other books. I also enjoyed the secondary characters in this one - they helped to add some additional layers to the main characters that might have gone unnoticed had they not been built into the story.
Despite the fact that I have neither heard nor seen any reference to another book in this series, I really hope we get more of this family. If you liked the first two books, definitely consider checking this one out.

What a fun read. A little less strange than book 2 maybe, but still unique in the way that Tiffany Reisz books are unique. Rather romantic too, all things considered.
Thank you 8th Circle Press and NetGalley for the ARC!

Deviant. Kinky. Enticing. Mysterious. Addicting...
And those are just a few of the words that pop into my head when thinking about this book. But this baby was definitely an interesting ride and one that fits perfectly in with the rest of the series while definitely standing on its own in tone and how the story played out.
I loved Arthur and Regan. Arthur may be part of the “Ton” but he isn’t as stuffy as one would believe him to be, but then again considering who his parents are?? He’s a bit more laid back than one would expect. Regan is strong, intelligent and powerful and just has this...aura about her that draws you in. Their journey was definitely an interesting one, smoking hot, but interesting. But what I enjoyed the most was their bantering. It was dry and sharp and yet it gave you a true glimpse into what they were fighting emotionally at the time. Hands down the chemistry between them was intense from the start and I loved how it all worked out for them in the end.
If you’ve read The Red and The Rose, you’ll know that art plays a huge role in the series and I loved how the various paintings were used in Arthur and Regan’s journey. As for the secondary characters. I ADORED Zoot. She was all kinds of awesome and I would love to read a novella or short story about her one day and Malcolm was definitely his sneaky self in this one.
Note: This book can be read as a stand-alone, but it would be a lot more fun if you’ve read the first two first.

I did enjoy this book. A great story with added fun between Lord Arthur Godwick & Lady Regan Ferry, brought together by a large debt made by the younger brother of Arthur. Now to search out the authour's other books.

4 stars
A well written erotic, paranormal story. It follows on from the first two in that it's characters are from the same family but doesn't require you to have read them. I did find Arthur very experienced in his techniques for someone who was supposed to have lost his virginity recently and was only 21 years old. For me, Regan seemed a bit cold but the perhaps her back story explains her attitude. The scenes are well written and we have the contiuing presence of great grandpa to keep us intrigued. I like Tiffany's books so will look out for others in this series.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Sexy, erotic, and enticing. This book kept me reading late into the night. I couldn't put it down. Ms Reisz is a gifted wordsmith, and I will definitely be searching out her other titles.

Too many things about The Pearl didn’t quite click for me. While I get that fiction often requires some level of suspension of disbelief, I couldn’t suspend it adequately to truly love this book. The plot hinges on Arthur committing to work off his younger brother’s debt at a house of prostitution by sleeping with the owner. That was the concept that hooked me in. There was plenty of sex but, with a few exceptions, the scenes didn’t really deliver on the heat. The characters were fine, but not people I could relate to (except for Zoot, the personal assistant). The ghost element wasn’t for me, either. Basically, this was an OK romance but not one for my list of favorites.

This book had me hooked by the end of the first chapter. I loved where the story was going, I liked the characters so far, and everything was so well written detail wise. Somewhere along the way I started to lose interest. The storyline seemed so repetitive: Arthur gets called, they have sex and share a few quips back and forth, Arther leaves and little by little feels drawn to Regan, who still acts cold towards him. The story isn’t bad, but I felt myself expecting what happens next.

The Pearl continues Tiffany Reisz's Godwick series and is possibly my favorite out of the three. Arthur is the Godwick in this story and he soon discovers his troublesome brother, Charlie, owes intriguing widow Regan a lot of money for his stay at The Pearl hotel. When he visits to settle his brother's debt, the two come to a mutual, albeit, unconventional agreement. However, nothing is what it seems and Arthur soon discovers a side of himself he never knew existed. Great writing, intriguing plot, and super steamy love scenes--Tiffany Reisz captivates her readers and makes them crave for more.

3.5 stars, rounded to 4. I had zero expectations for this book as it was an instant download on NetGalley and was very pleasantly surprised. I had not read the other books in the series and based on the cover and description through it might be a historical but was wrong, it is a erotic contemporary romance. Honestly, this is probably one of the better erotic romances I have read. I loved all the art references. I liked the semi-paranormal air of mystery without it fully crossing over into that genre. I honestly would have rated it higher but I struggled with the plot twist toward the end (I won’t spoil it). I saw it coming and it was probably handled as well as it could have been but I still didn’t like that it was there. I will still look for other books by Tiffany Reisz because this one was so well written
Thank you to 8th Circle Press and NetGalley for the digital copy in exchange for an honest review.

The Pearl by Tiffany Reisz is a superb read with well-defined characters and plotline. Definitely a page turner and well worth a read!

I really enjoyed this book! Great story, very interesting characters, bit of a ghost story thrown in for good measure... that was a bit unexpected, great sex scenes for the most part. The one at her old house was a little ridiculous but still overall I really enjoyed this book! It’s not too often you read a steamy book where almost all of the sexy bits are really natural and have a really natural lead up. Very impressed!

This was an interesting book. Although at the beginning it seemed like there would be a much more clear dom/sub relationship, it was still an enjoyable read after straying from that, which I had assumed would be the plot line. I was most surprised when I found out there might be a matchmaking ghost haunting an old painting, Definitely not what I expected when picking up this book. Overall, an enjoyable read with well written erotica and interesting characters.

hated this. sorry i'm being harsh but the writing was horrible. it's partly my fault because this was out of my comfort zone but DNFFFFFF

Holy moly this book set me on 🔥🔥🔥🔥. This was hot with a capital H! This is an age gap erotic romance with the hero being 9 years younger than the heroine.
Our hero is summoned to a mysterious meeting only to find his brother is in serious debt. The woman to whom he is in debt makes of offer- 10 nights as her play thing to wipe his brother’s debt clean. He accepts and his life gets turned around completely by this mysterious woman who understands him down to his soul.
The book is written in 3 parts- the first exclusively from the hero’s point of view, the second from the heroine’s then the last a mix. This made for an interesting insight as well as an added mystery about who the heroine. Our hero is a natural submissive but has never had the chance to explore that side of himself and it is done so well in this book. If you want a steamy read that you won’t want to put down- definitely read this. If you don’t want to have pearls ruined for you- maybe don’t read this 🙈.

Lord Arthur willingly sold himself to the widow of The Pearl hotel to save his brother. Lord Author was the heir of the Godwick name therefore his life held obligations. His younger brother Charlie was always getting into trouble unconcerned with the consequences since he wasn’t held to same standards as Arthur.
Charlie racked up a big debt at The Pearl, as payment Lady Regan Ferry took an important painting. The painting was not his to give so Arthur made a deal with Regan. He bartered his body in exchange for the painting. Her sexual fantasies and urges were supposed to humiliate him instead he desired more. He knew about the prior Earl’s extra-circular activities at The Pearl, but he tried to separate himself from his great-grandfathers sexual desires. However, Regan brought all the eroticism he tried to ignore to the forefront of his life.
It’s an enemies to lovers story with various elements layering the characters lives.
Overall:
The story was based in London with English wordage. It’s the twenty-first century, yet with a historical element.
The art and names of paintings was lost to me, not my forte. Role-playing to artwork was quite an interesting concept although I had to look up quite a few paintings. I missed the mark on interpreting these paintings. The art aspect clearly went over my head for I am not well versed on the popular art depicted in this story.
Eventhough they are strangers I wouldn’t be inclined to define this as sex with stranger trope. Eventhough he is a Lord and she is a Lady I would not classify this by that trope either.
The Pearl is a hotel where sex occurred but it was by no means a story about a brothel. As age gap stories go it had very little relevance on the relationship between them since Lord Arthur behaved years older than his actual age. The relationship had an expiration date, yet it too had very little relevance to the story. Basically some of the premise was based off Lord Arthur craving to be a submissive. Because he’s Lord Godwick he’s ashamed of his sexual preferences for kink because the men before him all were w-hores and he didn’t want to be associated or classified as a w-hore.
Lady Regan’s need for revenge didn’t produce the results I had expected. Not to mention the painting of Lord Malcolm was a weird storyline.
I had this sense as if these characters were living a reincarnated life and the paintings were a reflection of that time together.
This is the third book about the Godwicks. Each one is a standalone.

You can wear your pearls with confidence after 5 PM nowadays, but there are still two very important places the lovely yet porous minerals should NEVER go, and this book is, alarmingly, 2/2.
That aside, and all things considered, this book was surprisingly tame. Lord Malcolm is up to his old tricks, this time with his great-grandson Arthur in the passenger seat and Regan Ferry, notorious hotelier, at the wheel. I'm sort of suspicious of 19 year old male romantic leads, but Regan on the other hand was great. Her story was believable and vibrant. I did feel like she let down her guard a little faster than made sense for her character, but the book was not terribly long so I could rationalize the expediency.
My gripes we're minor. First, the pearls. I knew it was coming, it's the title of the book. But gosh, I'll take "Places Pearls Should Not Go" for 500, Alex. In addition to that, many of the descriptors were sort of icky and took me out of the moment. The paranormal-ish suspense-y stuff was a little predictable, but fine. I'm not really offended by #CousinStuff in a book like this but I can see that some people are. If that's you, you might want to skip this one.
In summary, I medium-enjoyed this entry into the Godwick series. It was fine, I finished it, I wasn't mad that I read it. I just am starting to feel like each subsequent book is more of the same. Don't get me wrong. It's entertaining. I'd just love for the author to recapture that absolutely 150% bananapants keep-us-guessing what-absolutely-nutty-thing-is-next vibe that made The Red so riveting. I give this book 3/5 stars.

Scorching hot read!
This author is always instant clock and this book did not disappoint!
I was laughing and loving all the art details that it had me googling stuff because I love when a book educates me to learn more.
Excellent book to read.
