Good book to help with your tarot understanding. The information on the website was a bit better. Full of information and easy to read. Thanks to NetGalley, the author and the publisher for the arc of this book in return for my honest review. Receiving the book in this manner had no bearing on this review.

Tarot by Tina Gong is a great addition to any readers library. Her book includes card pictures and descriptions, tarot history, and spreads. The layout is fairly typical for tarot books. I enjoyed her interpretation of cards for upright and reverse and how she incorporates conscious, unconscious and super conscious catagories for the Major Arcana cards.

Something unique in this book is how she tackles court cards and adds focus, event and action for each one. That's unique and I really enjoyed how it helped me, a seasoned reader, better understand the court cards.

Thanks to netgalley for the eARC in exchange for an honest opinion.

A beautiful book on the tarot by Tina Gong. I loved the modern take on the cards and the simplistic/clean look to the book itself.
I loved the multiple examples of three card spreads, definitely something I will add to my own tarot reading practice.
The cards themselves were broken down by number, suit and theme. They were described in straight forward way that could be applied to any tarot deck, traditional or modern.
A lovely book for both the new or intermediate tarot reader.

For someone who knows nothing about tarot, this was a deep and informative guide. I imagine even for someone more advanced, this would be great to have on hand. I actually got interested in tarot as a writer, as many use tarot to create and expand upon their fictional characters. This is a great book even for that for people who wan to learn more or delve deep. Photos, with examples of using the cards, guidelines, and explanations make this an easy, interesting, and informative read. This would also make a great gift for my friend. Thank you to Netgalley, the author, and the publisher for allowing me to read and review.

Excellent tarot book!! I have a decent understanding of tarot and am always looking to expand my knowledge.

I was already a fan of Tina Gong and have used Labyrinthos for a while know to look up tarot card definitions and use spreads according to astrological seasons.

This book gives a little backstory on the origins of tarot and its original uses which I found interesting. I learned something new here! Gong further breaks down the deck in terms of numerology, consciousness, and the minor and major arcana.

I particular appreciated the breakdown of suits and upright v reversed and how to intuit the images on the cards to get the message being told. I think reading this book helped me to better look at the whole picture of the spread and tie it together with the individual messages of the cards.

After presenting different spreads to complete, Gong included some examples of spreads with cards and interpreted them based on a fictional persons’s queries. This helped me learn how to see the whole picture as previously mentioned.

I would recommend this book for those curious about tarot or those wanting to learn to intuit their own readings a little better.

I received a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review. Thanks to NetGalley and DK for the copy!

I was provided an advanced copy of this book by Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

This is an incredible tarot resource; the author is the creator of the Labyrinthos Academy website, an online tarot school that is as visually stimulating as it is intellectually packed full of information - just like this book, and I wouldn't have expected anything less.

The book uses Labyrinthos' own Seventh Sphere Rider Waite Smith tarot deck to illustrate each card in the book, and all of the information is also available on the site as well. However, having a website packed into a volume one can reference is unique; the capability of taking Gong's expertise (through the quality of DK Publishing) with you is invaluable. Definitely a must-buy for a tarot novice or expert.

As a person without even the most basic knowledge of how Tarot reading is done and what Tarot cards mean, this book was extremely informative and amazing. Tarot was beautifully illustrated. It was full of great information that was easy for this beginner to follow and understand. Although, I think if you have a more advanced knowledge of Tarot, this might be too beginner for you. All in all, a great first book for my Tarot journey!

Good for those who do upright and reversals - a side by side interpretation. Both have about the same amount of information. A decent read of her interpretation of the cards.

Lately I have enjoyed looking at tarot cards of all kinds. During quarantine, it's just been something interesting for me to learn about. Tarot cards can be a useful tool but also a fun way to relieve stress for me. It's learning something new that unique, not necessarily the norm and really cool.

Tarot by Tina Gong was a great resource for learning about tarot cards (especially as a newbie!). If you're looking for some information and wanting to grow a little as well, this book can be a fun tool. There's some history, there's suggestions about tarot cards and their connection with mindfulness, explanations of the major arcana.

Honestly, this was a really cool read and I really enjoyed it! It's something new and different for me and it's super informative.

Four out of five stars.

Thank you to NEtGalley and DK for providing me a free copy of this book in exchange of an honest review.

As a tarot reader, I am always looking for new books to read that might have new information or different ways of thinking. I did enjoy that this started with the history of Tarot and how it was originally used. This deck truly goes in depth, explaining how different cards can belong to subcategories of concious or unconciousness.

A great resource to have on hand for any new or experienced reader.

I am always on the hunt for new books on Tarot and was happy to find this little book. The cover image grabbed me right away and did not let go of my attention. I had to begin reading it right away. The colors and images from the cover continue through the book. The book is divided into several sections:

Reading Tarot
Tarot Spreads
The Major Arcana
The Minor Arcana
Real-Life Readings

The book begins with a short history of Tarot and its different uses through time. I never thought of Tarot as a psychological tool or a way to be more mindful but the more I thought about it I completely agree.

I love the breakdown she gives in the anatomy of the deck section. She shows how different Major Arcana cards fall into the categories of conscious, unconscious and super conscious. I like that she included numerology and the elements into the definitions of the cards. This helps the reader better interpret the meaning of the individual cards. With the court cards, the author lists a focus, event and action. I have not seen this included before in other books on the Tarot. This certainly is very handy information to have on hand when learning the cards.

She provides many options for the three-card spreads which include daily check-in, decision-making, guidance and evaluations, and goal progress. Each layout has many possible meanings for the three card positions. For the other card spreads, she includes the classic Celtic Cross and Zodiac. She then follows those up with relationship, work themed, and spiritual spreads.

The bulk of the book is dedicated to the descriptions of the individual cards. This includes interpretation, reflection and action for upright and reversed positions. If you are beginner working with Tarot or someone that would like deeper meanings of the cards, you will definitely get value out of this book. I know I am going to refer to it whenever I use my cards.
