I was wayyyy too confused throughout this entire thing and felt like I wasted too much time trying to finish this. The pacing was bad, the plot had so many holes and the twist at the end really made me feel Klara’s struggles were for nothing. I did not enjoy this at all and am surprised I actually finished it instead of DNF’g (if I didn’t need it for a challenge I would have DNf’d for sure).

Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for the free copy in exchange of an honest review.

The idea behind this book was good. That's why I was so curious to read it. That said, unfortunately the style didn't meet my expectations. I had the overall feeling the story and the characters could be deepened better, helping the reader to empathize with what was going on and with them too.
I'm honest, I'm a little bit disappointed.

I dnf'ed this book around 15% in. I did not find myself carry about the story or any of the characters. Klara being the daughter of Lucifer and not wanting to rule, so she tries escaping to another land where she is not welcome
sounds like the start of a very interesting plot point. The beginning had a lot of information dumping that made it so that I could not get into the story.
The writing was too jarring to commit to for 327 pages. I don't think this book is for me but I am interested in reading a book by the author a few years down the line to see how her storytelling has improved.

I loved the story, the world building and meeting the different characters. I felt completely immersed in the story and couldn't stop reading it.

The characters and dialogue were definitely my favorite part of this book! I got sucked in by the blurb and didn't look back. I would absolutely read more in this universe but I don't think this book is for everyone. It's a bit dark in some parts and that's fine for me but I think it's a bit tricky to recommend.

I was sooooo close to DNFing this book and was sad about that because the synopsis caught me right away. It started off strong but fell very flat throughout the middle but that ending saved it! It was an easy read but hard to stay engrossed in. I had a hard time finishing it but pushed to the ending.

A great twisted fantasy YA style from hell. I liked this book a lot. The characters were likable and the story was very intruiging. Would continue the series.

Definitely not a hit for me. I was just bored and uninterested throughout the first 25% and dnf’ed it.

I really enjoyed this, I thought the world building was fantastic and adored the main character, definitely a fantasy you can get lost in

Love a solid Netgalley read. Read a whole back before I went off social media for a bit. Thank you for the chance to read and review.

I enjoyed my time with this story. I tend to really like twisted fairytale type stories and I think this one definitely fulfilled what I was looking for.

Love the world building the author did! The Characters where amazing and very appealing, especially Kara. Her strength, her passion and fight where incredile. You get hooked from the very beginning. The twists and turns that i did not see coming, i couldn't put the book down.

I used to love YA fantasy and given this is also dark fantasy I was excited to finally read it.

The blurb was fantastic and the premise of the story was fabulous.

It started off really well - I found it engaging, the world-building and character development was great and there was a fabulous mix of mythological beasts and werewolves and of course hellish demons.

It didn't back up quite as well, and we were rushed through to the conclusion in a wave of plot twists and shock developments.

There were a lot of typo errors in this ARC version but hopefully they were corrected before the final version was published.

Another fantastic read from Matthew Reilly. You always know what you're going to get in a Reilly read, and whilst that takes away the element of surprise somewhat, there's no denying that every book is a rollercoaster adventure from start to finish (albeit a bit tongue in cheek at times).

I adore Jack West jnr, and The Two Lost Mountains sees him pick up where we finished at the end of The Three Lost Cities, on the trail of Lily.....

I can't wait to finally get around to reading The One Impossible Labyrinth soon!

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read an early copy.

I got an ARC of "crowned a traitor" by Kate Callaghan by Netgalley, for an honest review.

Well interesting to take the setting of following the devil's daughter and her fight.

The story is allright but it was a bit too boring and whimsy for me. It allso was a bit too predictable.

This one brought a... complicated mixture of feelings while reading it.

Klara is Lucifer's daughter, left in a castle with the three queens who are meant to train her so she can one day inherit her father's throne in Hell. But Klara doesn't want the position, and she has to worry about her own safety before anyone else - she just has to make it out of Mallum and into the Fae lands. Only then will she be free.

Let me just say this, before anything else - this was not an easy read. It took me a while to finish it, mainly because the pace and the many errors in editing slowed the progress. I know this was an ARC, but the writing at times felt... way too amateur and unchecked, like a badly-translated story.

Still, I managed to somewhat focus because the plot was unique. The pace, like I said, didn't help much. It kept dragging until the last third of the book - that's when things picked up and finally became fascinating. Plot twists I didn't see coming, and action galore.

Klara as a female lead was... OK, I guess. She was sarcastic and never just sat around to wait for her destiny or whatever, which was much appreciated. And she was a badass and knew it. It was the back and forth in her morals and actions that really confused me - maybe it's the YA aspect? I've seen plenty heroines of this genre acting like that.

The book as a whole would have gotten a higher rating if it had been better edited. It has a great plot, a well fleshed-out world, and a plethora of characters able to keep the story going. But it needs several details tweaked to really work for more seasoned readers. I admit I'm intrigued enough to want to check the rest of the series out, but it came really close to becoming a DNF more than a couple of times, and it needs to be fixed on that matter.

This was an interesting read. Full of twists, turns, and magical creatures. A trip to hell and back. The ending was, whew! It kept my interest and a certain character made the interest pique!

It took me a while to finish this book, I loved the premise and the action! I recently received a new edition of this story via email and I can't wait to read the difference.

This is one of those times that I have to admit that it’s actually me and not the book. I couldn’t wrap my head around this story and had to dnf before 20% mark.
