I really enjoyed the idea of this book so much. The whole idea of calling in to hear reviews is a blast. I think I will buy the hard copy version to have on hand when it comes out.

Thank you to NetGalley for an ARC of The Call Me Ishmael Phone Book.

What an unique and creative way to collate reviews of books that have touched people's lives; all genders, races and religions.

This was such a fun read, and though the Kindle version has serious formatting issues, I enjoyed reading the summary of calls readers left on the phone number.

Most of their personal reflections were touching, sensitive and brought tears to my eyes.

The information is arranged and categorized in an innovative method, by the number of times a book has been mentioned and referenced.

I imagine the hard copy will be beautiful to read and peruse and look forward to picking up a hard copy of The Call Me Ishmael Phone Book. when it is available for purchase.

This is a pretty fun idea. I don't remember when was the last time I saw an actual phone book.
The Call Me Ishmael Phone Book: An Interactive Guide to Life-Changing Books is built like, you guessed it, a phone book. And you can actually call the number provided in the book and leave a message about your favorite book or listen to other people's messages. I didn't try to call the number tho. Mostly because I'm from Europe and I have no idea if it would have worked. Still - the idea is pretty neat.

This book is set up just like a phone book, if you are old enough to remember phone books. Actually, I think they do still make them, but I just toss mine. Anyhow, the formatting was not good for Kindle, but that was not a problem, since this was an ARC from NG, I just used the NG app. the book is broken into sections so you can reference what you are looking for, rather then read front to back like a regular book. It is divided into calls by subject, calls by book title, and calls by author. There are also listings for book stores and other places that are book related. When you call if you use extension 1001 you can leave your own message. If you use an extension in the book you can hear a message that was left by someone. There is so much in this book and every time I scroll through it I find something I did not see the times before. If you like books, reading, and innovative ideas, give this book a try. I do not recommend the kindle version as I mentioned the formatting.
