Another fantastic installment in The Secret Explorers series. Readers will enjoy this mission as Gustavo and Kiki are tasked to stop the Cairo Museum from closing down. They have to travel back in time to ancient Egypt and stop the tomb robbers before it is too late. Young readers will enjoy this adventure as this duo learn a lot about ancient Egyptian hieroglyphics, the late Pharaoh and his tomb of treasures, and how mummies were made back in time!

Very cute story and something I'm considering getting for my cousins. My only complaint is that the hair and skin tone of the Egyptians doesn't feel historically accurate.

Two of the Secret Explorers, Gustavo and Kiki, are sent back to Ancient Eygpt to ensure that the Cairo Museum does not close. They soon realize to complete their mission, they will have to stop three tomb raiders from stealing from Pharaoh Khufu's tomb. This was a great book that included diverse characters, both in their interests and cultures. I love how two of the explorers are chosen for each adventure and they all have their specialties. This makes it easy for children to identify with characters and passions. I also felt that the book was able to give quick overviews of the Secret Explorer Society and the kids without taking up too much time or space in the book. This allows young readers to be able to dive into whatever book strikes their fancy without needing to read every book. There were lots of historical facts sprinkled within the text but were accompanied by lots of adventure. The factual pages at the end of the book were delightfully engaging and I will keep kids reading even after the adventure ends. Overall, I would highly recommend this book and the rest of the series for 2nd-4th grade readers.

A fun and informative book, perfect for readers who enjoy the Magic Treehouse series. Each member of the Secret Explorers club has a unique ability. For this adventure, Gustavo and Kiki will use their knowledge of history and engineering to keep tomb robbers from stealing artifacts from the Great Pyramid.

The kids solve their own problems and work together to find solutions. During the story, the reader learns life in Egypt. The end has a section that describes the mummification process, contains a glossary and a quiz.

A great addition to any school and public library for the early chapter book collection. The characters are diverse and have a focus on STEAM.
