Scoring Off The Ice is an off beat romance between a shy, inexperienced, wishing for a girlfriend professional Hockey Player and the neighbour who helps him out when the one sexual experience he had resulted in a baby.

Single parent romances are my kryptonite; with both the MCs being in their early twenties - both at the start of their careers, so it had me a little leery of the fact if they would be able to handle a mature relationship, without the angsty drama of NA romance.

And while I found their relationship to be more physical than would have been expected from a single parent romance, I definitely enjoyed how they handled their relationship with each other and the adorable little baby.

Mikah was charming, adorable and quite the dominant stud, especially considering his own experience and Paisley was amazingly strong and a wonderful human - kind, thoughtful and adorable, and it was no wonder that both Mikah and his son, Angelo fell for her.

Low on drama, high on romance this was a wonderfully narrated audiobook that bought out the accent of a non - English speaking hero perfectly!

This audiobook and book series hands down has been the best sport romance series that I have ever read! Usually I don't care for sport romances because either they are too focused on talking about the sport or there is not enough romance. Scoring Off The Ice has just the right amount of action with plot twists that will make sure want to read more! Mikah has the main protagonist is such a likable and realistic man. He is good father and know how to respect women in the right away! It was nice to see a man that is not always super Alpha since that tends to be trend when it comes to modern romance books these days. He is strong but he is also sensitive and sweet when it comes to Paisley but he also sets realistic standards on what it means to be with a man of his success.

I also love Paisley is independent and is in grad school! Most of the time we see female characters in romance they are either not doing anything good with their life or they are super-broken. It was good to see a woman like her that has her stuff together. I would say that the sex scenes were tasty indeed! It also refreshing to see a women also being just as satisfied in the bedroom! The steam level for the sex scenes I would give a medium rating; they are steamy to get you hot and bothered but they are not trashy that it would make you want to put the book away. If you are new sport romances and you want something with good plot twists and a great developing romance this is going to be the book for you!

I have to say Meg Price and James Cassidy did a fantastic job bringing the characters and story to life and for me the accent that was needed for Mikah was just perfect.
Mikah is one of the youngest and newest members of the Ice Kings hockey team, his goal has always been to play in NHL and nothing else mattered , he needs to stay focused because he knows even though he has earned his spot on the team, that spot can easily be taken away....
His birthday was meant to be a night of fun and passion, a night to let lose and then go back to focusing on his dream career, it was meant to be one night but now nearly a year later he suddenly finds himself a father with no idea how to raise a baby ........
Paisley finds the baby on her neighbors doorstep with a note attached to him and when she realises the hot guy across the hall as no clue when it comes to babies she steps up to show him the ropes.
As this couple spend time together feelings grow as does the sexual chemistry and Mikah finds himself wanting more than just a career playing hockey, as Paisley helps him stumble through learning how to be a father he finds himself wanting this strong, sassy yet funny woman in his life ..
This is an entertaining read that captivated me from the first page to the last line, I loved the plot, I loved all the characters and I highly recommend this book to all sports romance lovers as well as romance lovers, it has something for everyone.
I loved the ebook but the audible took this story to a whole new level. Great story, great characters and great narration.

Hockey is Mikah’s life and everything else comes a very distant second. He has worked hard to become a professional hockey player but he is not your typical athlete when it comes to women so when he finds himself the father of a baby that he never knew about he is not only stunned but feels totally unprepared and out of his depth.

Paisley is living next door while she finishes school and she has been attracted to her neighbor for a while however she could never have predicted their first meeting when she hands him the baby she found outside his door.

Although he didn’t have a good family life, he is determined to ensure that the same won’t happen to his child. With the help of Paisley, he will do everything he can to ensure his baby will have everything they need both emotionally and financially and along the way they just might become the family he has always wanted and never had.

Sweet and sexy this story finds the perfect balance between humor and heart and not only were Mikah and Paisley great characters but there is a great assortment of secondary characters as well. I listened to an audio copy of this book and though that the narrators did a great job of bringing the story to life.

Lynn sets a gold standard when it comes to going audio. Price and Cassidy bring a versatility to characters that can at times be a bit one-sided. With humor and heart Lynn and company set a course for delight city and score the winning goal.

I absolutely loved this book. I think this is my favorite book of this series.

Apart from the lovely romance aspect and Paisleys' beautiful soul, I think this books' magic lies with watching Mikah slowly learning how to be a dad and going from flustered to falling head over heels with Angelo.

Fair warning, Mikahs' audiobook narration was a little grating at first with the heavy accent, causing me to burst out giggling for the first chapter, but it both mellowed out and I probably got used to it by the end of the book.

Overall, this was a light hearted story, full of emotions and baby insta-love and I'm totally here for it.

5 stars and a blanky

The Ice Kings series continues with Micah and Paisley's story and there is more sizzling, but oh so sweet romance coming your way!
Twenty-three year old Micah left his native Denmark to become a professional hockey player in the United States. He is so focused on the game that there isn't much space for any distractions in his life. He let himself have fun one notable weekend after his birthday, but obviously one stands with ice rink bunnies isn't his thing. Untill nine months later his gorgeous neighbour Paisley knock on the door and hands him a crying baby boy which is apparently his son. Well, Micah has always done his best and it is his turn to learn how to be the best single father possible and if he needs help, there is his sweet, calm and capable Paisley.
I loved the protagonists straightaway. Micah exhudes strength and loyalty. His inexperience and desire to learn melted my heart away. Of course, the trope of an abandoned baby and the brand-new dad trying to cope with the situation isn't new, but it is all in the execution, and the growth of the characters. Paisley is literally the girl next door in this book. Her character also develops throughout the book. Life is full of surprises and sometimes you just have to embrace them.
I am becoming a big fan of dual points of view. Meg Price's narration was perfect for the role of Paisley and I also enjoyed the way she represented other characters in her chapters. I wasn't so sure about James Cassidy's Danish accent, but this wan't an easy role to take on and he did render Micah's personality in a very attractive way.
Overall, a lovely, light-hearted, fun romance recommended for anybody who enjoys sports romance.

Paisley is a grad student staying at her uncles house and spies on her gorgeous neighbor through the peep hole in her door. She doesn't have the courage to actually speak to him, until she hears screaming outside their doors. When she opens it she finds a baby in a car seat and a note.

I'm sure you can figure out what happens next. Despite the predictability of the plot, I found it to be funny, charming and sexy. I was not a big fan of the narrator who I felt made a Dane sound like a Russian, but if you can get past that you are on your way to a fun book with sexy characters.

This is the first book that I have read/listened to from this author and I thought it was an ok story. A secret baby romance. He had a one weekend stand which resulted in a baby being left at his door. His neighbor helps out with the baby and a relationship starts. Good chemistry between them. These narrators were new to me and they were ok.

Like most books, I went into this mostly blind. I new it was a hockey romance and I was sold.
This story follows Mikah, a Russian hockey player, and Paisley, his next door neighbor. When Paisley hears muffled cries in their apartment hallways, she opens her door to find her neighbor has a bundle of joy left on his doorstep. Scoring Off the Ice is book two in a series, although I haven't read the first one and from what I can tell, can be read as a standalone. This story has no cheating, no cliffhangers, and is a HEA.
I usually don't go for romances that have a baby involved because normally they aren't my cup of tea. However, I did enjoy this book because it had a fun, new story line I haven't read before. Overall, this book was average for me. I didn't LOVE it and I didn't hate it. It didn't have any problematic story lines and kept me interested throughout the story, although the ending was fairly predictable. It did feel like the ending was a little rushed. The whole book built up the drama between Mikah and Angela, but was resolved in a couple anticlimactic paragraphs. On top of that, the reconciliation between Mikah and Paisley was subpar and the Mikah was immediately forgiven with little explanation.
Often times in hockey romances, the male lead is a hottie sex god and I appreciate how the author made Mikah a virgin. It was a nice change of pace to have the male lead a virgin and not the female. The sex scenes were explicit and well written and flowed with the story well.
I listened to this on audio and while I loved the females voice, the male's voice with his Russian accent was hard to get used too. I did like how they made him have an accent.

In the end it was an "ok" read for me. It was nice having it on audio and listening while I did chores.

Romance and hockey seemed like a great combination so I was excited to give this audiobook a try. The basic story is that an elite professional hockey player in his early 20s suddenly discovers he’s a dad (Mikah). His neighbor is Paisley and she helps him with the baby and becomes his love interest. It was lovely to see Mikah gradually getting comfortable in his new role as a dad. It’s a sweet story in its basics, and you absolutely knew that the two of them would wind up together by the end of the book (so not really a spoiler). The minor characters were drawn well and were a varied lot (Paisley’s friends, Mikah’s teammates, etc.) However … I found that the constant lustful descriptions got a bit much (“he’s so hot”; “she’s so beautiful”) and took focus off the narrative arc of the story.

The two narrators did a good job, although I’m not convinced that the male actor got the Danish accent right. To my ears, it sounded more like a Russian or other East European accent.

Warning: this audiobook is definitely NSFW or for listening with anyone else around! There are a lot of descriptive sex scenes.

Many thanks to NetGalley and Spectrum Audio for a chance to listen to this audiobook. All opinions are my own.

I like that the book is presented from two points of view with two different narrators. I liked the narration of Meg Price and James Cassidy. The story worked in many ways for me. It was a cute I liked that the characters got to know each other and grow while their attraction. I will read the next book in the series.

This one was a lot of fun. Neighbors brought together by a baby left in the hallway. Paisley has been spying on her hot neighbor and trying to figure out how to meet him when she hears a cry that turns to a scream and when she investigates she finds a baby in a car seat outside her neighbor's door. Knocking and then pounding he finally answers with a towel wrapped around his waist straight from the shower still dripping wet. Yeah, that is a great way to meet your neighbor. He is the hot hockey star who had a wild weekend to lose his virginity and BAM makes a baby (go figure) and crazy mom leaves baby on his doorstep. Paisley is a grad student staying in her uncle's condo while finishing school and doesn't know who he is or anything about sports (or care about sports). Perfect for each other and instant chemistry these two are a breath of fresh air and make this story not only fun but light and sexy at the same time. I had this in audio and the narrators were great!

I really enjoyed this audiobook. It's not the typical hockey romance, and Mikah is not your typical hockey player.

Mikah is young, focused on his hockey career, and avoids "puck bunnies" and groupies like the plague. Once, just once, he let his teammates talk him into a wild night, and boy does it come back to haunt him. Paisley, his neighbor, steps in to help him out, and sparks ignite between the two of them. Their relationship develops quickly, and it really feels like they are building what Mikah hopes is his family, until the shoe drops. I don't want to give any spoilers, but there more than their fair share of drama involved. Overall, though, the angst is quick.

This is a really heartfelt book, for a lot of reasons. It's sweet when it needs to be sweet, steamy when it needs to be steamy, and hits a lot of the right notes as you delve in. The narration by Meg Price and James Cassidy is very well done and enhances the story. It was a very enjoyable listen.

Scoring off the ice follows Mica and Paisley when a newborn is found at Mica's doorstep. They had never met before and Paisley had no idea he was a professional hockey player. However, they kept eyeing each other as neighbors until they finally met. The baby's mother (the only woman Mica had sex with before) had left him there, abandoning her child to his father who panicked a little at the idea of having a baby to raise. Thankfully, Paisley is the kind of generous person that would help someone if they need her and she doesn't hesitate to step in.

Overall, this book was a pretty interesting and enjoyable book to listen to. I have to say I wasn't a fan of the male narrator's accent at first but I got used to it. I think I liked this one a little more than the other but I'm not sure. I have to admit I forgot a little about the first book unfortunately. That's probably because I have a bad memory and romance are easy to forget sometimes. Still if I see any more audios as ARCs on Netgalley by this author, you can be sure I'll happily request them ;)

An easy going and pleasant reading. I really enjoyed the fact that the man narrator had a central European accense. I appreciated. The story was interesting and not rather common. As expected Stacey Lynnonce again delivered a delightful story nothing less.

Narrator: I was a little bit taken aback by the accent of Mikah's narrator but as I listened to more of the audiobook it wasn't as jarring to me and I got used to it. I love it when an audiobook has two narrators that Scoring Off The Ice had, so I appreciated that.

Scoring Off The Ice is book two in the Ice Kings series by Stacey Lynn. Stacey Lynn is a new to me author, and this is my first book by her. This is Mikah and Paisley's story. Mikah is a professional hockey player who is next-door neighbors with Paisley, a graduate student who just moved into her uncle's empty apartment while she is busy attending college and teaching at a local school. Paisley has secretly been perving on her sexy hockey player neighbor. One night, she gets a knock on her door and it's her sexy hot next-door neighbor, hockey player Mikah, whose holding a baby and saying that it's his. This is their meet-cute.

I enjoyed this book, I thought it was such a cute and fun sports romance, I thought I wouldn't enjoy the baby left on the doorstep trope, but the chemistry between Mikah and Paisley made it worth it. As Mikah handles his newfound fatherhood, Paisley helps him out in any way she can. I loved the scenes in the beginning, especially whenever Mikah didn't know what to do Paisley was there. Mikah is strong, sexy, and dominant but the way he is with his baby made me swoon multiple times throughout the book. I wasn't really surprised when Mikah messed up, but I was glad that once he had his head on straight he quickly moved to fix it. This was a great second book and I can't wait for the next one in this series as well and I will be reading the first book in the Scoring Off The Ice series soon.

First of all, I want to say that before I listened to this audiobook, I read the first book in the series, and was not impressed. I criticized it for its use of first-person POV and also the writing style, which just didn't work for me, and neither helped the story, which I found boring with an entitled male lead that I didn't like. I will say that, in this book, possibly because of the format, those things weren't as frustrating to me as they were in the first book.

Overall, the story is ok. I do like the "surprise baby" and "accidental baby acquisition" tropes, and the baby in this story is cute. I also do like hockey stories (and just, hockey in general), and this book, unlike the last one, does actually have more hockey and team stuff than the first one. The characters are interesting to a point, though I would have liked more background on both of them. It is hard to connect with the leads because we know practically nothing about Paisley, and we just get hints at a troubled childhood with Mikah, but nothing really helps the reader/listener get to know them.

I like that, given that the book is presented from two points of view, that they mirrored that with two different narrators. Though, James Cassidy's "Danish" accent is... a bit not good. At times, he sounds stereotypically German, sometimes Russian. I have friends from Denmark, and their accent when speaking English is... not this one.

There are also some interesting word choices and errors, which should have been corrected by an editor. I understand an ARC copy of the text maybe having these errors, but given that the phyisical/e-book was published in April, I would have expected them to be corrected with the audio recording. In particular, there is a scene where the leads take the baby for a walk in a stroller, read by the female narrator. The name of the baby is Angelo, the male lead is Mikah. And yet, the narrator reads a line that "Mikah was in the stroller." How was this not caught and corrected at least in the audio copy. Did the narrator, at least, not notice/bring it up?

Scoring off the ice is a contemporary romance that hits a lot of my favorite tropes: unexpected baby, hot hockey player, and next door neighbors.

Paisley is a master's student who lives next door to a hot guy, but they've never spoken. Mikah is a professional hockey player whose one night stand drops a baby off at his door.

I was looking forward to sparks flying as Paisley helps Mikah out with the baby, but instead they spend a lot of time apart as Mikah makes all the first-parent mistakes. Paisley eventually comes over and does all the hockey player's cooking, cleaning, and baby caring. Paisley seems very young since she spends a lot of time thinking and very little time doing. She does not directly ask for anything she wants. Instead, she spends most of her time denigrating the baby mamma in her head. Mikah spends a lot of time ignoring Paisley and not asking for the help he desperately needs. Since neither of these characters can ask for what they want, or spend much time together, the romance is fairly low-key.

The audiobook is narrated by Meg Price and James Cassidy. Meg Price is an excellent narrator, good at both male and female voices. James Cassidy reads Mikah with a thick Danish accent, which is distracting for a main character, but he does a great job.

This is an audio book review. Narrated by Meg Price as Paisley (the gorgeous neighbor) and James Cassidy as Mikah (the pro hockey player). This is truly a sweet classic love story with a twist. Both narrators did a great job. You could hear the different expressions in their voices. They were not just reading the book. Mikah accent didn’t sound quite Danish but Mr. Cassidy still did a fantastic job. I really enjoyed this story. It was not you typical romance novel. 4 stars for the story and 4 stars for the narrators.
