I was really happy to receive a review copy of this book . I loved her last book and Zara Stoneley is fast becoming one of my favourite Authors when I need a pick me up. This title didn't disappoint either. I was hooked straight away and didn't want to put it down once I'd started. I read it in a sitting , i was so immersed in the storyline.
I loved the characters, , especially the two main protagonists Becky and Ash.They were so easy to connect with and you could empathise with the situations they found themselves in. . I think Bella stole the show , I fell in love with her.
Becky takes a job house sitting in the Lake District with added dog sitting duties . While there ,she meets Ash , whom her client Geogie has warned her to be on guard against, thinking he might try to dognap her charge. This leads to some humorous moments that make you laugh out loud. The two develope a rapport over the course of Becky's stay and the attraction for each other becomes more difficult for them to deny as they become closer Becky has a job and apartment to go back to , it was only ever meant to be a short term break to get away from it all.
This was such an uplifting and heartwarming read. If you are in need of a pick me up then this is a book for you. It's light hearted and was an enjoyable ,escapist read . I loved the author's description of the Lakes , her writing encapsulates the beauty of the places visited. I thoroughly recommend it.

Becky takes a house sitting opportunity in the lake district, to escape and get some inspiration for her work as an illustrator.

She is supposed to be dog sitting, but when she gets there Ash turns up claiming the dog is his. She is worried he is going to try and steal the dog, but as they spend more time with Ash she actually starts to enjoy her time with him, so what will happen when it is time for her to return home?

The Dog Sitter by Zara Stoneley is the first novel I have read from this author, and I found it to be lighthearted and undemanding, while at the same time appealing and a little bit quirky. This one promises to be a hit with the dog lovers.

Becky has just come out of a relationship and is stagnating somewhat in her career. When the opportunity to do some dog sitting in the Lake District presents itself, she jumps at the chance for a brief reprieve from her everyday life. Her charge, Bella, is charming, even though her owner, Georgina, is anything but. Enter Ash, Georgina's ex, who decides to take advantage of her absence to reclaim Bella as his own, putting Becky in the middle of a vicious custody battle. As Ash digs in his heels , relentless in his mission to get his dog back, Becky is forced to protect her charge, while at the same time opening her heart to new possibilities.

While the storyline is undeniably predictable, I did enjoy this lively and buoyant read. 3.5 stars

Many thanks to NetGalley and HarperCollins UK, One More Chapter for this ARC.

Becky is a character that is all over the place. She is hired to be a house/dog sitter. She is not really qualified. Ash is the ex-boyfriend, who claims its his dog. The story was a bit hard to get into. Thank you to NetGalley and HarperCollins UK, One More Chapter for the E-ARC.

I received an advance copy of, The Dog Sitter, by Zara Stonely. I just could not get into this book, as much as I tried and wanted to. Maybe if I was a bigger fan of dogs, I would of liked this book better.
