Secrets and deceit are the fiber of this thrilling story by Tarryn Fisher. Not only do the Crouches have a huge secret, but Juno has a whopper of her own. This story takes the reader down a rabbit hole filled with twists and turns and more than a few surprises. Keep reading until the very end, because you just might find yourself just as shocked as I was.

The Wrong Family is an unusual book with unusual characters and an unusual plot. The story centers around Juno, a retired therapist who is battling a devastating illness, and Winnie and her family, who live in a beautiful home and seem to have the perfect life. But, everyone has secrets and the story unfolds as it goes back and forth between the perspectives of Winnie and Juno.

This is a thriller that is also a bit of a slow burn. I liked the overall plot, although the pace sometimes seemed a bit uneven. It’s creepy and unpredictable, with assumptions creating even more uncertainty and suspense. But, in the end, the characters were, by and large, pretty unappealing. Juno was the only one I cared about and I felt sorry for her. Other than her, the rest of the characters (except for Winnie’s son, Sam) were a little distasteful and I wish I could have felt more empathy for them.

However, this book did hold my attention enough that I had to finish it and see how the story was resolved. I enjoyed Ms Fisher’s writing style and I’d like to read more of her books. NetGalley provided an advance copy.

Yes, Tarryn, Yes!!!! I have been needing a book like this something fierce!!! Sometimes, as a blogger/reviewer we get into these”slumps”. Every book we read just seems to fall short of that perfect 5 stars you’re looking for. For me, that has been happening quite often lately, until now!!! OMG…It was EXACTLY what I needed!!! Main characters that are very well rounded, and very well developed. The story as a whole is fan-freaking-tastic!!!

So the plot was a little far-fetched but this didn't hamper my enjoyment of this book. It is a dark, very twisted psychological thriller about a convicted therapist who lives with a family in Seattle. One night she overhears a disturbing conversation between the couple about their son. She decides to get involved with disastrous consequences.

An enjoyable ride. Did not know where the story was going to lead me and I really liked that. Tarryn’s writing is very digestible and I read this book so fast.

I found this an enjoyable read. Firmly falls in the thriller category and easy to recommend to fans of the genre.

Tarryn Fisher is an amazing storyteller and I love everything that she writes. The Wrong Family is no exception, I absolutely devoured this book.

Ooh time goes by and if i don't write the review right away...sigh. I'm trying to be better. The best i can do right now is give a star count...

To put it bluntly, this book gave me the creeps!! Especially now with all this talk about people living in other people's houses without them knowing it. This was a maze of a plot and really really creepy (yes I know I am using that word again) characters and the circumstances are creepy. The good news is that it is sooooo creepy, I don't think it could ever happen? I read it, but only if you like creepy would I recommend it to you.

If a reader is searching for a good thriller, this is a safe bet. Tarryn Fisher is known for thrillers and this new addition follows suit. A good book with plenty of twists!

The Wrong Family was a miss for me. This was so slow paced and I wanted to DNF multiple times. I felt like I was sitting for anything to happen for the first 70% of the book. It picked up during the last 30% and the ending was very satisfying. I cannot stop thinking about the ending and it left more questions than answers.

This unfortunately wasn't compelling for me. I kept expecting the twists but instead it felt jumbled and full of people I didn't care about. I enjoyed "The Wives" so I'll stick with the author, but this one didn't work for me.

While this wasn’t my favorite Tarryn Fisher book, it was still a shocking and wild story! Fisher always writes very unique books that keep you guessing until the last page.

Oh, for anyone who has ever read a book by Tarryn Fisher, you know that you don't know what to expect. This book, from the very beginning was amazing. You could not predict it, you knew the main character had some issues, but you didn't know what she was going to do! It is definitely a must read!

Juno the former therapist has a happy life until it is all gone. Her solution move into another family's house and notice something isn't quite right, so ever the therapist she goes about trying to fix Winnie's family,

This book was a miss for me, maybe it's because I have read too many of the suspense novels, nothing surprises me anymore. I am looking for something new not the same old story retold.

3.5 stars - I’m a Tarryn Fisher fan but I’m sad to say that this one wasn’t my favourite.

General with a Tarryn Fisher book you must expect the unexpected and be ready for anything, but this one felt a bit flat and boring to me. I really loved the Wives and was expecting something similar.

There were many twists and turns, and Tarryn Fisher is very good at incorporating those into her stories, but I think my expectations were too high for this one, and I was left feeling underwhelmed.

The book was very slow in the beginning, at around the 50% mark it started to get interesting, and I felt myself more emotionally invested in the story. However, I had a hard time liking any of the characters and hated that a mental health issue was used as the premise of this story.

In the end, this book just wasn’t believable and the ending didn’t win me over as I found it a bit ridiculous. Overall, it was okay. Just not my favourite Tarryn Fisher book. I highly recommend reading The Wives instead, and I still remain a fan of Tarryn Fischer and can’t wait to see what she cooks up next.

Tarryn Fisher has such a way with words. She can pull any reader right into her story and this was no exception. I couldn't put it down.
