Do you think there's not enough Roselia in your life? Sometimes, when it comes to something that we really like, we feel like we're not getting enough of it. Oh, but don't worry, you're not alone in this one. Plus, we have good news for you: there’s a manga featuring our beloved girls! And it tells their origin story! For that reason, it doesn't matter if you’re a big Roselia fan or you're just discovering them, this manga is definitely a must-read!

I love Bandori so it comes as no surprise that I would request this manga. I was quite surprised to see the name of the artist when I first looked at it, however, because I'd recently started reading Goodbye, My Rose Garden - a yuri manga set in the Victorian Era that I adore - and had to appreciate that they gave the job of illustrating the story of a band full of such beautiful girls with such close friendships that borderline on romantic relationships.

That being said, this manga is probably only of interest if you've ever played Bandori. While I personally love the game and specifically Roselia, I can acknowledge that, for other readers, this might not be too interesting. However I hope people are still willing to give it a shot because I love these girls so damn much and they make me so ridiculously happy, it's unreal.

This book was nothing new to me as I used to play this game a lot. However, I do love the story of Roselia and found this to be a very faithful adaption. It’s a nice story for regular manga readers as well.

I'll admit that I picked this up because of the creator - Dr. Pepperco is behind the beautiful historical yuri series Goodbye, My Rose Garden. Sadly this isn't quite as well done - all of the impressive research put into late Victorian lesbian literature that marks Pepperco's other series does not appear to have been done for the musical instruments that are the basis for this one, and I found the whole, while not unenjoyable, simply not as good as the other series would indicate. Fans of idols should still find things to enjoy, and the art is beautiful, but I'd rule out picking it up strictly as a fan of the creator.

To be honest, I didn’t like this. It was just hard to understand. A group of girls all want to be in a fes, but they have to form a band. It was like reading the feel of 90’s emo, that want to be BlackPink. I didn’t care for it and would not pick up the second volume.

Fluffy and unrealistic, but it does have some interesting things to say about ambition, the joy of making music, and the way that a group of musicians can be more than the sum of their individual talents. Not going to continue reading this series, but it was more than I expected going into it.

3.5 Stars ( I received an e-arc from Net Galley in exchange for an honest review)

This was a very enjoyable manga about four different girls coming together to become an awesome rock band. We get introduced to the leader prior to the forming the group, wanting to create a band to continue her father’s legacy (in a way). Her father had a rock band for a while but then at some point they signed to a major label and fans turned against them, thinking that the band sold out for money and fame. The other members come along slowly which include a girl who just quit her previous band (she is super serious about music), one of Mia’s (the leader) classmates as the drummer and then the drummers friend who plays the piano. When each member comes into the band they play a song and each time there is this almost magical vibe/ connection. The one downside to the story for me is that Mia and the other guitarist take being in a band way too seriously, wanting to focus on nothing but the band. The other two are little more immature but they are just teen girls and not everything has to be so laser focused. I loved the design of their costumes and their band name is Camilla Rose is a such a great name. I definitely recommend this manga!

I didn't like this one, honestly. I didn't hate it, but I was so bored reading it. I pushed through because I liked the art style and it was short, but I didn't care about the story at all. It was very cliche. If you're into music industry, this might be worth a try for you.

I really liked the 1st couple of pages, because they were colored and because they showed you a piece of their future. You first meet Yukina who is a "solo" artist, singer. Yet she wants to form a band, and she is looking for the best of the best players. She has a dream of making it to the Future World Fes! a place where bands can make their Major Debut! She starts finding people one by one, and they all seem to be able to connect with each other. Very cute, very sweet, lighthearted, fun, and empowering.

This is my first manga from Dr.Papperco and I liked it very much. It reminded me somehow of Mew Mew Power and Sugar Sugar Rune without Fantasy but about music, singing and performing as a band.
It's about a girl Yukina who wants to form a band in order to make her father proud of her and to avenge him after what was done to him in the music industry. We see how the mumbers come to join the group and each one with her own reasons.
It's about friendship, trust, discovering yourself, being courageous and accepting to change and to work hard in order to fulfill your dream.
All the characters were interesting in their own way, we have the leader, the timid, the cute, the passionate and the charismatic. It's pretty the same with the boy bands like Uta no Prince-sama or when we have a group of male characters in a manga. In my opinion, it is a good manga for teen readers.
Anyway, I heard about this manga and I wanted to know what it was all about. I found it cute and entertaining, I can imagine how the story will progress with all the drama around the characters and the band. After finishing the first volume, let's be honest, I'm not so eager to read the second volume but it doesn't mean that I didn't like it. I just have other more interesting books to read.

I haven't read manga for a long while, and I want to try some again. This was enjoyable and I really liked the music theme. The art was also great and I can't wait to read volume two.

ARC Copy...Fans of the franchise and J-pop idols might love it and the art is not bad but for me it did feel like musical industry fantasy cliche story.

This was a sweet story about Girls friendships. Nothing less.nothing more. A easy introduction into manga.

I went into this read with zero expectations and no knowledge of the history of Roselia Stage. The premise intrigued me and I was curious.

This first volume follows the formation of Roselia and the five band members. You slowly start to get background information on each girl and her musical history but it isn't anything too in-depth. Mostly it focuses on the magical dynamic the band seems to have out of nowhere.

The artwork is easy to interpret and the storyline is easy to read. Some of the musical pieces seem a little too convenient and unrealistic but overall it is a fun read. As the serious goes on you can see were some character depth can start to grow. Until then this is a simple introduction into the band and the girls.

Review to come to my blog and Goodreads September 9th.

I received this manga in exchange of an honest review.

While I gave up on playing the Bang Dream Game, I am still a giant fan of Roselia. They are one of my favourite bands in the franchise. So I was hyped when I saw this manga appear on Netgalley.

This one begins with Roselia not yet being a band. We see various band members at the start (and later all of them are together at the same place, which was nicely done) and I was eager to see them get together again, form the band. Get Roselia to be known. So I was delighted with each step on the way. Though I was frustrated to see how Yukina and Sayo were bossy about things, just be happy that people want to be part of your band. They play awesome, so really, what is the problem? Just because they may want to take it further than just playing for fun, that isn't a bad thing.

We see Yukina's reasons for starting a band, and my heart broke again for her. I can imagine she is so dedicated to her music, to showing the world it. Also for her father's sake. Though I was looking forward to the Yukina who isn't so stiff, so serious, so strict, so... well, cold. I want her to have fun with music again. To make friends. To have a good time. To be more happy.

I had such a laugh at how hard Ako was trying to get in the band. Feeling sad about it, but then going back hard to get into the band. This girl is not giving up. While she isn't the type of girl I would want near me in real life (and I remember in the anime she was a bit too much), I do like her in the manga (probably because you can't hear her then).

I loved Rinko and seeing her become more brave. I was looking forward to see her be with the band.

I loved seeing the band together and play their first song together. I guess I will be listening to Black Shout soon again, it is such an amazing song, full of power and awesomeness.

The art was nice... but the expressions were at times too much for me. It felt more like I was reading horror or crime instead of a story about girls forming a band and kicking some serious ass.

All in all, I had fun reading this one, I loved seeing the characters again, but now in manga form. I can't wait for the next volume to come out.

arc provided by the publisher via netgalley in exchange for an honest review

I really really enjoyed this manga! I had zero expectations going in, I just figured it featured music of some sort and that cover drew me in immediately, it’s absolutely gorgeous.

We follow 5 different girls and their journey’s with music and how they all come together to form this band, Roselia. They each have their own goals in life and within the band. I appreciated the fact that each member joined in a different way and that they all have their own personalities and talents and flaws.

It was nice to see how different they all were and how that came together with the instrument they played and their role in the band. They were all individual characters and I had no trouble distinguishing between them at all, which I was worried about because it has happened before in other manga!

I’m really excited to see the friendships develop more in the next volumes and continue on with the band’s journey to success!

I highly recommend this manga if you’re looking for something fun and sweet but also with real life aspects mixed in with all of the music!

4/5 🌟

Yukina may be only in High School but she has absolute and total focus on two goals: making it in the music industry that destroyed her father's life, and being better than her twin sister at SOMETHING. For this reason, she doesn't smile, laugh, hang out or have any friends other than her childhood friend Lisa. All of her focus is 100% on music, and being the most perfect technical singer she can possibly be. But she also realizes that in order to make it, she is going to need a band made up of the absolute best so in this volume she sets out to recruit them one instrument at a time: lead guitar, bass, drums and keyboard players who are not just good, not just great, but absolutely and unquestionably FLAWLESS.

This was a strange little manga. It's about a group of girls coming together to form a band. This is mainly about the girls' relationships with each other but it does have some musical elements.

The musical elements were not well done. I am a musician and I have preformed in a band before. It's really great to be able to trust one another and to be able to play your part correctly after literally hours of practicing. Playing before a live crowd is truly amazing but quite frightening for a lot of people, including me. This manga however, did not show the girls practicing or sight reading some sheet music. Instead, it just showed the chemistry of the band working together while playing a song. I was disappointed, as someone who plays more than 5 instruments.
- Also the bass guitarist said she didn't need to use her fingers to play the guitar??? She has long nails, so I'm assuming it was a mistranslation and they meant to say fingernails.

The girls were more interesting. They each have a stereotypical personality - but it worked! They were super cutesy and I found myself rooting for them and their band.

Incorrect with the musician elements, but it makes up for it with the characters!

A girl forms a band with her best friend and three other girls. They turn out to have great chemistry together as a band. The main character only focuses on music and doesn't care about anything else. She eventually tells the other band members that her goal for the band is to play at a big event, but she doesn't share why.

Bang Dream! Girls Band Party! Roselia Stage is everything I cannot stand and thus I wanted to try it. Sounds weird, right? Well, it's good to know your enemy. Yukina Minato's dad didn't make it in the music business and was crushed by the system. Now the daughter wants to gather a band and make it for her father and prove how good she is. The whole first volume is just collecting the band members for guitar, bass, drums and keyboards. This all happens quite fast, but it's quite logical, which is good. I was surprised how this volume is quite coherent and nicely constructed and mostly about relationships and friendship. The reason why I'm not a fan though? Why would anyone want to see kids making music and that they would be good either? The band Roselia makes their songs just like that and the songs are instant hits and well, the girls are teenagers. Also, it's not realistic that the girls are good musicians, since it takes practice and they are too young.

The art is OK, but nothing miraculous, but works still. I'd say this is one of the better girl band mangas though and is somewhat different. I'm still not a fan of the genre, but objectively speaking Roselia Stage is OK and worth trying if this is your cup of tea or rocks your boat.
