I would like to thank World Castle Publishing, LLC and the Netgalley website for allowing me to read this book.

It features former detective Peter Cunnigham who became a private investigator and thought that Abigail Mitchell was one of his crazy clients. Except that he finds himself involved in an ancient conspiracy dating back to the Salem witches. It's a far cry from the assault story this woman wanted him to solve.

He will have to travel the Pacific Northwest with Kelly Martinez to learn more about these famous witches. Between a coin, a five year old case, the Malleus Maleficarum, are all going to be connected to the tragedy that happened in Peter's childhood and he will have to find out what it means.

These notorious witches live among us, part of a secret society they must keep hidden, but they have been discovered. Peter will have to deal with it all.

A book read in one sitting so I was immediately hooked on the story so gripping, captivating, addictive, full of intrigue, suspense and twists and turns with endearing characters.

I received a copy of the book from Netgalley to review. Thank you for the opportunity.
An interesting idea behind this story but I found it hard to engage with and enjoy this story. There is some good writing yet it is heavy with biblical references which became repetitive after a time.
An OK read.

Even if it's well written the story didn't keep my attention and fell flat.
Not my cup of tea.
Many thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for this ARC, all opinions are mine

Peter, a former police officer, is now a down in his luck ok private investigator working in seedy Tacoma. Abigail, a witch, comes to Peter seeking help. They end up in the midst of a centuries old mystery.

The plot was fine but there is an excessive amount of explanatory exposition which makes the dialogue very stilted. The characters were one dimensional.

It isn't a bad read just not a favorite one.

I was given a free copy by Netgalley. I am leaving my honest review.

We begin with a down-on-his-luck former police detective who decides, instead, to become a private investigator. Peter Cunningham thinks that lovely Abigail Mitchell is just a nutty client. He soon discovers that he has been drawn into an ancient conspiracy that dates back to the Salem1600s Witch Trials. Definitely not at all the simple assault case his client wanted him to solve.

Peter becomes involved with Abigail, who we discover is a witch. Unfortunately, he needs to put the budding relationship on hold as he travels the Pacific Northwest with his former partner, and friend, Kelly Martinez.

A five-year-old case, a special coin, the Malleus Maleficarum itself, a televangelist and motivational speaker Tony O’Stein, Pope Innocent VIII and a secret society all tie back to a tragedy that Peter experienced in childhood.

Witches live amongst us as a part of a secret society, but their hidden organization is discovered. This leads to new, modern waves of persecution. Tensions were already high and the attacks have made things much, much worse. Peter needs to expose and thwart the conspirators plans before an even bigger tragedy occurs.

A well written book with interesting, well developed characters. I definitely recommend this book for paranormal mystery book enthusiasts.

I would like to thank James Kirst, World Castle Publishing and Netgalley for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for a fair and honest review.
