Who are Vikki & Flynn? How do they know one another? What kind of work do they each do? Oh goodness! Who is Joseph and why do we end up meeting him? What happens when Vikki and Flynn go into hiding? Why are they in the situation that they are in? Who is Melissa? What happens with Jackson, Landon, Tate, and Sadie? My heart broke for one of them! Read to see what happens!

Vikki is a paralegal trying to get some information out of Sargent Flynn to find his half brother who is selling a drug that has hurt and taken a couple of the buyers lives. While they work on a case together trying to find Flynn's brother it seems a person who was impacted by the drug is now looking for some revenge and taking it out on Flynn.
I loved that from the very beginning of the book it was straight into the story where you gotta question what is going on and get you immersed into the story. I loved getting to see how everything played out. From trying to find the bother, the close calls and even the romance that was forming between the two. I really enjoyed this book and think you readers will too.

Terrific combination of romance and heart-pounding suspense. Vikki is a JAG paralegal sent to the local army base to question two people. First, she needs to talk to the husband of the latest ReVitaYou victim and find out what he knows about his wife's use of the supplement. Then she has to connect with MP Flynn Cruz-Street and find out if he knows where his half-brother, Landon Street is. Landon is the scientist who created ReVitaYou, and the authorities need to know what the ingredients are.
The action starts immediately as Vikki arrives to see a grief-crazed Captain Joseph attack Flynn because of his relationship to Landon. The captain escapes, leaving both Vikki and Flynn in danger of a future attack. Vikki, whose investigative techniques can be a trifle intense, rubs Flynn the wrong way by implying he knows where Landon is. Their initial interactions are a bit antagonistic, and it doesn't help that they are ordered off base (together) for their safety. I liked how they decided that working together was the way to go and discovered that their methods meshed well.
I enjoyed the development of the relationship between Vikki and Flynn. Despite their rough start, they do work well together. That work is complicated by the intense attraction that they feel for each other. They need to maintain their professionalism, but their chemistry is hard to resist. Each of them also have prior relationships that make it difficult to trust the feelings that grow between them. It was occasionally frustrating to see the push and pull as the growing strength of those feelings cause one or the other to retreat when things get too intense. I ached for them both at the end when insecurities pulled them apart. I liked the conversation Flynn had with his mom that opened his eyes to how he needs to live his life. Vikki had a similar conversation with her sister Sadie. I loved seeing Flynn grab onto hope and go after Vikki. I loved the ending and the depth of their love.
The suspense and action in the story were intense. From the opening shots, as Captain Joseph tried to kill Flynn to the surprise twist at the end, I could not put the book down. There were two main missions in this book. The first was to catch Captain Joseph, and the second was to find and capture Landon Street. Captain Joseph was not only grief-crazed; he was also well-trained. It seemed as though Flynn and Vikki would escape one attack only to be confronted with another one a short time later, with one genuinely terrifying one that could have ended very badly. The final confrontation with him was a nail-biter but ended the threat.
At the same time, Flynn and Vikki did everything they could to try to find Landon. Though the man has always had problems, Flynn is confident that he never intended to kill anyone. He's also under no illusion that Landon is innocent of other crimes. An unexpected event brought Landon out of hiding, and I was glued to the pages until it was all over. Though this is one more piece to the puzzle, it isn't over yet. Trouble from Sadie's past reappears as the next and final book of the series is set up.

I have read a couple from the 911 series but this is the first time in reading this author which is a surprise to me. Having read Harlequin for years I still try to read as many as I can in the Intrigue line and what used to be the paranormal line. Anyways this one caught my eye because of the characters and their occupations. when Flynn joins with Vikki I was very curious to see how this was gonna go anyways being that they were after his half brother. This is also a formula for a relationship that builds between them because they fit and also work well together. They do have to be careful because there is plenty of danger and we do want to see them get out alive when it is over. This is a fast pace so stay on your toes. Thanks to that shady captain we are so glad there was a protector for Vikki. This one is very full though and has alot to it so do hang on.

4.5 stars
This is the fifth book in the Colton 911: Grand Rapids series by Harlequin Romantic Suspense line of Harlequin Books.
I am a big fan of the Colton series in the Harlequin world. It is just my jam. This book did not disappoint. I was kept in suspense and the storyline was so compelling I had to keep reading until I was finished.
The characters were ones you instantly fall in love with and want to know how things will turn out for them. I always wish there were more bits of follow up so we know what is happening in their world. The Colton series really helps with that aspect since I get informed about previous characters in future books. So excited for the next Colton book! Definitely read this one and enjoy the thrills!
If you love a good romantic suspense mystery, definitely check this one out.
I received this as an ARC (Advanced Reader Copy) in return for an honest review. I thank NetGalley, the publisher and the author for allowing me to read this title.

I will leave a review on Amazon or B&N om Nov 10, 2020
Hot Pursuit is action-packed and full of suspense, this book contains many different emotions ranging from family loyalty, honor and intergity, justice and betrayal. This is the fifth book in this series, and although if can be read as alone it is much easier to follow along with if you have read the previous books. There is a lot of chemistry between Vikki and Flynn, yet they still struggle with finding a way to each other. I would recommend this book to others.
I received a ARC from NetGalley and Harlequin Romantic Suspense, I was under no obligation to leave a favorable review all opinions expressed here are my own.

Potent tension, fervent fight for survival and justice, agonizing between family loyalty and code of honor and honesty; a twisted, messy, and dangerous case that puts JAG paralegal Vikki Colton's life to danger and heart in line.
I've only read one previous book in this series, and I noticed early on that it would have benefited me greatly to read all the books in order as many of the characters keep appearing in this story, touching their own storylines, and I was lost. My bad.
The suspense case in Hot Pursuit is just what the name promises. It delivers, and it is a fiery fight for life, a fight for catching the culprits before they catch the good guys, a fight for what is right both legally and in the minds of the protagonists when it comes to their families.
The attraction between Vikki and Sergeant Flynn Cruz-Street is a palpable force in the story. It is obvious that they are interested in each other, that their emotions are in the play. Yet the constant, repetitive pull-push they both play with is frustrating at first and annoying towards the end.
Many of the questions are answered and problems solved, still, there are more books to come in the series and thus some of the puzzle pieces are missing, and not all the Colton siblings are safe yet.
A captivating multi-author mini-series with enthralling love stories and riveting suspense.

I really enjoyed this Colton romantic suspense! Having read all of the other Colton books, this one picks up right where the last one left off and this time Vikki Colton is thrown into the mystery of RevitaYou. As a JAG paralegal, it's her job to interview the husband of a Revitayou victim on the base. What she finds when she arrives not only shocks the heck out of her but tells her that she's in serious danger on this case.
Sergeant Flynn Cruz-Street is looking for his estranged half brother. He's the creator of RevitaYou, and they need him to find out what the dangerous ingredients are in this 'supplement' that is killing people. The last person Flynn wants to team up with his Vikki Colton, but he quickly realizes he doesn't have a lot of choice if he wants to find his brother and save lives.
When the action hits, it never quits until the very end! In Hot Pursuit was a nice wrap-up to this part of the RevitaYou mystery. It was starting to get repetitive, but finally, we have answers. Well, some answers. There are more and until they find those, the Coltons aren't safe. The twist at the end tells you there is another Colton 911 coming down the pipeline and I look forward to reading it!
