When teachers and educational assistants are looking for social skills books, I always point them toward my Julia Cook collection.

Once again, Julia Cook helps teach children to be better versions of themselves. I will be adding this book to my collection.

Thank you to NetGalley and National Center for Youth Issues for the opportunity to read and review this book.

The E ARC I received had a few blank pages which lost the essence of the story. My opinion is based on what I could read from the remaining pages.
A story of a boy who could not sit still. And how he was told that he has ants in his pants.
This book can be a good source of guidelines on how to make children sit I school as well as at home.
In the end of the book some guidelines ans suggestions are also shared.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an electronic copy to read and review.

A mom to 3 young kids and an elementary teacher, Julia Cook is a go to for books about personal space, social learning, and behaviour. She is a super talented author who has once again created the perfect book. Louis is a kid who just can't be still and constantly seems to hear the phrase that he has "ants in his pant". The books gives some examples that many kids will relate to. It also shows how Louis learns to have more control over his body. At the end of the book there are suggestions and tips that will be useful to most caregivers who have a little Louis in their life.

I can't wait to add this one to my teacher library!

I Have Ants in My Pants is a slightly silly book encouraging children to sit still. Carrie Hartman did a good job with the illustrations.

I recommend I Have Ants in My Pants to children that have trouble sitting still.

This is a helpful, engaging book to teach young kids self control and awareness of their bodies. I liked the tone and how being active and wiggly is normalized. A list of helpful tips and strategies are listed at the end for parents.

Thank you NetGalley for providing this ARC.

What a great rhyming story teaching children the meaning behind "ants in your pants" and how to control your wiggles. I think this will really help kids and their parents as they work on learning what it means to sit still.

When I read the title of this book, I was expecting a silly book about kids with ants in their pants. I guess that's what I got, minus the silly part. I Have Ants in My Pants was actually a very thoughtful and insightful story about Louis who can't seem to sit still, and adults keep accusing him of having ants in his pants.

The story provides a way for adults to communicate to children about how to work out their wiggles, so that when it's time to sit still they don't have ants in their pants.

The graphics were cute and relevant to the story; they were bright and engaging.

Overall, I definitely recommend this one to open up a conversation (for both adults and kids) about how to best handle children that can't keep still.

Thank you netgalley for providing this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
This was a very entertaining storybook about a boy who was very antsy when there wasn't much to do and the way he learned to control his urge to move around. Perfect for young kids who just can't stay still.

Oh this was such an amazing book! I loved all the bright pictures and the rhyming words. What a wonderful message for children but also for teachers/parents. As a current homeschool teacher I know the signs of “ants in the pants” and the language the author used to explain what the child was feeling was phenomenal. I will definitely be adding this title to my children’s TBR list! It’s fun and had a great message. And it will keep them entertained because they can practice getting their wiggles out too just like Louis!

This is a great book for explaining and normalizing the wiggles and making kids feel less bad or embarrassed for their uncontrollable movements or sudden outbursts. It is relatable for children who can't sit still for long periods of time or who get distracted easily. The tips offered are a great way to teach manners and respect for others, eg: "Try hard not to talk while others are speaking".... It would look better if the book typeface matched the cover typeface - the book typeface is too serious. The illustrations are cute and the rhymes are fun. I would recommend this book.

Five stars. A gently-told, charmingly-illustrated, light-hearted, engaging tale for all children, not just those with "ants in their pants." A book to encourage wiggly kids and their peers. Tips for parents and teachers are offered on the back page. A fun, rhyming read.

This is a super cute book on how to teach kids to be still! I feel like kids of all ages would read this book because those who need a little extra help being still will finally feel like someone understands them. The artwork was cute and even being 23 years old I was entertained. When I worked at the daycare I worked at I definitely would’ve read this book to my students!
