Motivating and inspiring look at women in leadership and politics in general. If you've ever wondered why we don't have more women elected officials, this will show you some of the barriers (obvious and less so) and guide you in how to overcome them.

This book is the reason I joined NetGalley! I am a huge fan of EMILY’s List. And I enjoyed the title, specifically on audio.

I think I misunderstood the subject of this book after reading just the description. I thought it would be more widely applicable to women in leadership, but it really was focused on women running for office. It has great lessons and tips for that, but it definitely limits the interested and relevant audience.

This book discusses EMILY'S List founder, Stephanie's insight, guidance and advice on how to be a powerful leader as a woman and to continue to help break through gender stereotypes that negatively affect women in the workplace today. A lot of the book was advice on also how you CAN become an elected political leader if you set yourself up properly! Overall I enjoyed this book.

The CEO of Emily's List has put together a primer for women who are considering running for office. This volume gives a broad overview with lots of cheerleading for women wanting to get involved and be part of the political process (even if she chooses to be in a support role rather than a candidate).
