This author has done it again. I loved this book. It was emotional and I couldn't wait to see how it ended. I loved the southern setting and all of the characters. I could not put this one down. If you love great books do not hesitate to read this one once it is released. You will not be disappointed!

As a Northerner, who desperately wants to move South, this author has become a “Go To” when I need a southern fix. This story was no different, but the storyline was unique and grabbed me from the Page 1.

To me a good story has to make you feel the characters plight. From the beginning you are introduced to a loving “perfect” couple who seem to have it all, and a tight knit community where friends become the family we picked as ours. Add a few secrets and a quirky family member and you will be hooked too! I cried, I laughed and I rooted for the outcome. Modern day issues in the old South. It did feel like it dragged in parts, but on the whole, I couldn’t pit it down. Escapism at its finest.

Under The Southern Sky is Southern fiction for women as its best.. I love this charming story and am always on the lookout for more wonderful stories Kristy Woodson Harvey. Her stories never disappoint.

This was my first book by Kristy Woodson Harvey and I will definitely be adding her other books to my to be read list. I became fully immersed in both Amelia and Parker's stories. As characters on their own they are both very strong and as their stories started to weave together it only helped to strengthen them. I liked the addition of Greer's journal entries as they pertained to what was happening in the story. This was a really emotional book and I have to say, I truly enjoyed the way it handled grief by showing how hard it is to move on after losing someone, while also showing hope for how to move on.

Parker learns that is possible to have two great loves. His first wife Greer who dies of cervical cancer and his soon to be second wife, Amelia who he grew up with as is the girl next door. These two women are polar opposites. Greer is put together, driven, successful, obscenely rich due to her families business and equally as generous with this money. She has a very successful blog that Amelia follows. Amelia is a hot mess and has no money or drive. These women do have one thing in common though. They both love Parker with all their hearts. I don't want to add any spoilers. This book is full of heart and southern charm!

Amelia and Parker both grew up together in Cape Carolina and have both experienced loss. Parker lost his wife and Amelia walked in on her husband having in affair. They both escape to their home town. Obviously they have meddling parents that hope they get together. Parker is still grieving his wife.
Amelia discovers that Parker's late wife has abandoned embryos and Parker wants to carry on her legacy. Will Amelia be the one to help? This was such a heartwarming story. I 100% recommend this book.

Fast paced book and I really enjoyed it. Good story line and I think people are gonna love it. I would definitely read again and recommend

Aww I was drawn to this novels as I like the author Kristy Woodson Harvey, the cover and the title.

Amelia and Parker grew up in Cape Carolina. They were neighbors and their mothers were best friends.
As a young boy Parker is interested in Amelia but she is 3 years older and dating his older brother ~ an hs baseball star.

Now both Parker and Amelia have separate lives and both dealing with the loss of a spouse. Parker’s wife Greer died of cancer and Amelia’s husband found another love.
Amelia is a journalist and is doing an article on ‘abandoned embryos’ and find that Parker and Green have abandoned theirs due to Green’s cancer.
Amelia and Parker renew their long ago friendship. Secrets are revealed and a strong friendship develops.
Although the story is predictable it was a feel good read.

Everything coming in "Full circle" are the words that come to mind when thinking of this book. The jacket cover gives a great description of the book and much better than I, so there will be no "book report" from me. The characters present the story in their own voice throughout the book and they all have secrets, some that would be very hard to keep by the average person. I'm still not sure I really liked Greer at all, even though she was integral to the story. She seemed to be a spoiled,selfish,rich girl who could snap her fingers and have everyone at her beck and call. She also seemed to have an unrealistic ability to have people nearly "worship' her and she always gets what she wants, even when she's not around. There seems to be a bit of a gap in time at the end that takes a few minutes to follow but it eventually resolves itself. Overall, it is a very good read and all comes " full circle".

This was such a good story! It captured me at the beginning and I didn’t want it to end. That is what I consider an excellent book.

I can’t even begin to describe how much I loved this book! It explores so many themes! Death, grief, divorce, friendship, forgiveness, moving on and more! I shed a few tears throughout this book and just when you think you know a character, you’re hit with an unexpected bombshell. This is a must read for 2021!!

This is my 7th novel by Kristy Woodson Harvey and just like her other fabulous books, I devoured each and every page of this one. I love her story telling and this had me on the edge of my seat. This is an author I will always read and this is the sort of book I have to keep coming back to remember how much I love to read. As I get older, I am finding that many books come along that I just can't seem to get into...like, at all. But then I will read a book like this and go "oh yeah"...The book is told by 3 or 4 different points of view and while I normally do not like that, this time it seemed okay. You have one man and two women, essentially. He has loved them both at times of his life and he married one...he thought she would be his forever but that wasn't the case. The other woman he loved as a teenager for the most part but she also became one of his best friends...the story is about what brought them all three together, more than once. I loved the book, personally, and it was exactly what I was expecting from this author. :)

This book.... THIS BOOK! I know I sound like a broken record when it comes to this author, but it's the truth... Every single book she writes just gets better than her previous ones. This book BLEW ME AWAY! *taps mic* Are you hearing me? This book is a book you want to read!

I was NOT prepared for this book! In no way was I prepared for Harvey to write such an emotionally charged book on such an hard topic to grasp. This book blew me away. I was torn up inside throughout much of this book. No one can write a sad, happy book like Harvey can. I can't even type out my thoughts properly after reading this book.

This book tore my heart out. It mended my hear, just to tear it apart again. This book left me feeling whole and hopeful. This book left me feeling optimistic and happy. I felt the weight of the book and felt light-hearted by the end of the book. (See, that made sense in my head. Oh well.)

If you haven't gotten the picture yet, I highly recommend this book. Harvey is the Queen in Southern Chick Lit. She is the Queen of weaving a tale of family secrets with exceptional (and sometimes not so exceptional) family dynamics, all the while weaving a story full of love and longing (and not just in a romantic way). I can't sing this book enough praise.

Kristy Woodson Harvey is one of my favorite authors! She always does a great job of making you feel a deep connection with the characters. Great for anyone who loves chick lit. Perfect to read on the beach!

I enjoy books by Kristy Woodson Harvey and this was no exception. Amelia Buxton is a journalist researching a fertility clinic and finds a group of frozen embryos belonging to her childhood friend Parker and his late wife Greer. Recently separated from her husband, Amelia moves to her childhood home on Buxton Beach and gives Parker the news. He is still grieving his wife's death and decides to hire a surrogate to help him become a single dad. Harvey describes the soul searching Amelia does before telling Parker of the embryos and then her quandary about whether or not to become his surrogate. The characters are extremely likable and I found myself rooting for a happy conclusion. In addition, Harvey raises the issue of what happens to embryos if parents die or divorce. I highly recommend this book.

Great for fans of Elin Hildebrand! This is a must read author for anyone looking to be swept away and into warmer weather. I am so very happy to have been able to read my first Woodson Harvey book and am actively looking for another. Very excited to recommend this one!

I received an ARC of this novel from Netgalley in exchange for my review. I have read a few books by Kristy Woodson Harvey and have never been disappointed. It was the same with Under the Southern Sky. The book does not disappoint.
Under the Southern, Sky takes on more complicated storylines which are written with such delicacy readers are left literally falling in love with the two main characters.
This book is a must read.
