How to Frame a Fashionista by Debra Sennefelder is the 3rd book of the Resale Boutique Mystery series, and another fun book. Kelly Quinn lost her job in the fashion industry in New York City, but she inherited her grandmother's consignment shop in Lucky Cove, in upstate New York. Kelly has been using her talents to turn the store into an upscale boutique. Kelly needs to sell some clothes fast, to repair a leaking roof. When Kelly finds her old boss, who fired her, standing over the body of her client, the sleuthing begins. There are many twists and turns in this book, that kept me guessing. I enjoyed reading this book and am looking forward to reading the next book in the series. I highly recommend this book.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Thank you to NetGalley and Kensington Books for an opportunity to read How To Frame A Fashionista.

This is the third book in the Resale Boutique series. I don’t normally like to read series out of order but this one works well as a standalone .

When one of her new consignment clients is found murdered, Kelly finds herself investigating the murder, and gets herself into a bit of trouble.

The story is a bit predictable but fun, however I really didn’t like any of the characters that much - which for this type of story is really important imo. There is a lot of chatter about fashion - of course - and I did generally enjoy that

This is the 3rd instalment in Debra Sennefelder's Resale Boutique series. Kelly Quinn is back in her hometown and trying to make some cash from second-hand shopping. After inheriting the business from her gran she is in the process of updating it with current trends and styles. Expecting a call from online fitness expert, Tawny Nicole who lives in Lucky Cove she is shocked when she arrives to pick up some stock, to find Serena Dawson who, months earlier had publicly fired her. Kelly learns that Serena is the ex-wife of Tawny’s husband and that Tawny is caught up in the divorce settlement. When Kelly returns to Tawny's the next day, she finds Serena standing over the dead body of Tawny...

The story was very intriguing and there were enough suspects to make the identification of the killer rather challenging. Debra Sennefelder's seemingly simple plot was layered with subterfuge and as Kelly, believing Serena to be innocent, got evermore involved in the murder investigation, her relationship with Mark, the brother of the lead detective, became strained. The author has done an excellent job of developing the main character's personality and Kelly had an unwavering need to help others, making it easy for me to bond with her even though I am certainly no fashionista! I loved that I got a little fashion advice, but the highlight of the story was definitely the mystery. I can't wait to see what happens next in Kelly's adventures. Very highly recommended.

I received a complimentary copy of this novel at my request from Kensington Books via NetGalley. This review is my own unbiased opinion.

Upscale Resale Cozy Murder Mystery
This is such a fun series! I am far from a clothes-horse or fashion fanatic, but this is fun! Besides excessive fashion information, the reader learns about Fendi, Louboutin, and cute little red booties. The mystery plot is very good. The final resolution comes as quite a surprise. I felt like I was solving it along with our heroine. I have read the entire series and have really enjoyed each book. I think the reader could read them in any order and enjoy them as well as if they read them in order. I received this ARC book for free from Net Galley and this is my honest review.

Kelly has problems and they only get worst when her old boss comes to town. Lots of unanswered questions for her to get answers to. You'll enjoy following her as she digs for clues to solve not one but two murders. Lots of twist to unscrabble.

The best in a strong series! How to Frame a Fashionista has Quinn hitting the jackpot when a social media influencer offers to place a large portion of her awesome closet, including a prime designer purse, in Quinn's resale boutique. Naturally nothing can be easy for our young entrepreneur! She soon discovers a body with her New York nemesis, the boss who fired her from her dream job, standing over it! Author Debra Sennefelder balances Quinn's concerns for the shop with her need to resolve the murder and makes both parts of her life compelling reading. Quinn and her friends are sure the win the hearts of readers. This third book in the Resale Boutique series is the biggest winner so far.

I requested an ARC for How to Frame a Fashionista because I have found the series to be delightful. It is my favorite book of the series and my friends and followers will be hearing about it because I loved it.

I am officially done with these books - I have tried to continue on and have put up with the MC's shenanigans, but this book was just too much. Every time the MC said she had learned a lesson and was going to be better, you could be sure that the next couple pages would be proving those statements wrong. And don't get me wrong, I like nice stuff. I lived in several affluent NYC suburbs for 7 years and grew to love the finer things of life, but I have never, ever, seen someone as obsessed with that life and the clothes and shoes and purses as Kelly is. It is almost grotesque how much she covets what she cannot have [to the point of being willing to think about doing things hinkly to be able to get what she wants - no, she ends up NOT doing it, but its the idea that she even thinks about it. It is just wrong and obsessive and really, gross] and to be mad that she has to be RESPONSIBLE and put a roof on the business that is also her H O M E instead of getting that Fendi bag she obsesses over the whole book. That is not grown up behavior, it is not business owner behavior and it certainly isn't the behavior of someone who is trying to reform.
Add in all the really stupid things she does throughout the course of the murder and investigation and you are just left wanting to smack her. Add in the new secrets she has learned about her family [and that is really unnecessary], her stupid boyfriend and her inability to truly learn, and you have a hot mess of a book. I didn't enjoy this one at all. There was just so much of it that was totally unbelievable that it wasn't enjoyable and by the time the reveal happened, I had figured much of it out. So disappointing.

Thank you to NetGalley and Kensington Books for providing this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Fantastic addition to my favourite series.
With each book, this series keeps getting better and better.

Kelly's new client Tawny is a fitness expert. Tawny's husband's ex-wife is Serena, Kelly's ex-boss. (Too many exes in the mix) Tawny is found dead at her home and Serena is suspected of killing her. Serena asks Kelly to help prove her innocence. Now this isn't easy, after all, Serena was the one who fired Kelly. To add to this murder mess is the romance on the Homefront. Kelly has a lot of decisions to make. From fixing the leaky roof to solving the crime to her boyfriend suddenly turning to be a pain in the backside, Kelly has her plate full.

The storytelling was absolutely fantastic. I have read almost all of Debra's books so far and she's a versatile and talented author. Be it the characterization or mystery, Debra is the best! The identity of the killer was surprising. Throughout the story, we readers are given a hint as to why the killer might strike back. But the real reason behind the murder was a huge shocker.

Overall, this was an excellent cozy mystery. I cannot wait to read the next book.

I thought this book was okay but I doubt it would be something I would read a second time.

Kelly Quinn is trying to make a go of her grandmother's resale boutique in Lucky Cove, NY. She recently landed a new client, a fitness guru, who wants to consign some of her clothing. Kelly hopes this will be a financial boost for her store and a repeat customer. Unfortunately, the guru turns up dead and Kelly's evil ex-boss is standing over the body. Now the evil ex-boss wants Kelly to clear her name...

I figured out whodunit about halfway through the book. No spoilers there.

I did not like Kelly much at all as a character. I thought she was awfully superficial and flighty, which annoys her to no end when someone points it out in the story, but it is true. I did not like the constant comments about clothing and how much it costs. It seems like Kelly had less appreciation for style and quality over designer name brands and dollar signs. Everything she describes from her point of view is listed as "five figure gold watch" or "three figure Fendi purse." It got old. I get the labels and the name dropping in the wardrobe but commenting on how much things cost made her sound shallow and envious.

This was the first book I had read in this series, although there are two predecessors. I did try this author's Food Blogger mysteries but could not get into those either. I did give it three stars because I finished the book even though I did not much care for it.

Thanks Netgalley for the ARC

Fun and interesting whodunit. The characters were entertaining and the mystery kept me guessing. I would so enjoy working with Kelly in her resale boutique.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley. My thoughts and opinions are my own and without bias or favor.

Another entertaining visit to the resale boutique. The clues are there, but where do they lead? Some major surprises. Relationships are changing. Interesting back stories. I look forward to reading the next one in this charming series.

A solid cozy mystery. This is the third in the series and I haven't read the other two. As such, it took me a minute to get caught up with who the characters were. I might have enjoyed it more if I'd read the first two books. Kelly wasn't my favorite cozy sleuth ever, as I found her a bit conceited. But it's an entertaining read and just perfect for those cozy feels.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read this book.

Debra Sennefelder has another perfect ensemble with How to Frame a Fashionista, book three in the Resale Boutique Mysteries. There is so much going on in this book, we finally get to meet the Dragonista who fired Kelly from her job in Manhattan, Kelly is continuing with her self-growth, we find out more about Ariel’s accident, and Sennefelder drops another huge bomb when it comes to Ariel, Kelly’s friend from high school. And, of course, Kelly solves a mystery with a lot of help from her friends.

The Who Dunnit was a bit easy for me to solve, but I didn’t know the entire motive right away. But, as always, there’s much more to cozies than just solving the mystery. And Sennefelder does an excellent job with the character development, outfit details, and as mentioned before, there is a whopper of a twist in How to Frame a Fashionista.

Another great book in the Resale Boutique Mysteries, and while it can be read as a stand alone, it’s always more fun to start at the beginning, and in this series the first book is Murder Wears a Little Black Dress.

This is the 3rd in the Resale Boutique series. Kelly Quinn is back in her hometown and trying to make a go with consignment shopping. She inherited the business from her Grandmother and is working to update it to current trends and styles. She is settling in and excited to get a call from an online fitness expert Tawny who lives in her town of Lucky Cove but is shocked when she arrives to evaluate and pick up the cloths that she finds her old boss Serena Dawson who months earlier fired her in front of the entire office. Kelly stands up for herself and learns that Serena is the ex-wife of Tawny’s husband and was shocked to find them fighting when she arrived. Tawny explains it is about property that her husband and Serena co-own. When Kelly arrives the next day it is to find Serena over the dead body of Tawny. Thus begins Kelly getting involved in one more murder investigation which causes strain in her relationship with Mark who is the brother of the lead detective. Things go down-hill from there with her and Mark and perhaps there is promise a new direction in future books. Kelly is struggling to keep her business going as the roof has been leaking and a new one is needed and she doesn’t have the cash. Serena still thinks Kelly is working for her ordering her about but she stands up for herself and helps in the investigation because she believes Serena is innocent. Had a certain Devil Wears Prada feel to it as Serena was referred to as the Dragonista. It was also good to learn more about her strained relationship with her Uncle (that was one heck of a surprise). Overall solid mystery with clear clues to culprit but still very enjoyable and a fast read. I really enjoy this series. Recommend.

Serena might be a hateful horrible person who more or less tanked Kelly's career in New York but Kelly doesn't think she's a murderer. Kelly rebuilt everything that Serena more or less lost for her by rebuilding her grsndmother's consignment shop on Long Island. Except that she needs a new roof. She's thrilled, therefore, to get a chance at Tawny's closet but when she gets to Tawny's house, she finds Serena there (yikes) standing over Tawny's body (double yikes!). Those two have a complicated back story but there was more to both of them than met the eye. Tawny was no angel and well, Serena does have a heart. Kelly, our intrepid cozy heroine, gets to the root of the stories and solves the murder. That's simplistic but know that the story is laced with fun and funny characters. I found Kelly a little obnoxious in the first book but she's grown on me (you will be fine with this as a standalone). Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC. For cozy fans.

A murder mystery, problematic past, family secret and trouble with her boyfriend make for a bad combination for Kelly Quinn. On top of that her business is in need of some serious cash to make repairs. But Kelly forges ahead and makes some surprising discoveries.

I liked that there were multiple aspects of the story that were concluded by the end yet a couple left dangling to entice me to read future stories in the Resale Boutique series. Thanks to Lyrical Underground and NetGalley for an ARC. The opinions expressed are my own.

Great read by a new author for me. The plot is well written and enticing to the reader. The author writes in a way that makes the reader feel like part of The story.

Kelly Quinn is not only fashionable but also forgiving. Not sure I would be willing to help the "dragonista of Seventh Avenue" avoid jail by searching for a killer. The evidence leads to Serena Dawson, Kelly's former boss and bane of her former "life" existance. Kelly has every right to just walk away, after all she has a leaky roof to take care of, a boutque business to continue growing, and a new relationship that keeps her guessing. Kelly is just one of those characters, your typical cozy character who can't help but help and you can't help but like. Is this murder about an ex-wife or a fitness phony, or is it something else all together? In between consigning clothes and submitting fashion articles, Kelly will do her best to solve this mystery as well as the one involving her family drama. Why does her Uncle seem to find only negative things to talk about, why the cold shoulder and hateful looks, what exactly did Kelly do that was so bad? On the plus side she might just be making headway with Detective Wolman, nope not going to refer to her by her first name even if Kelly is dating the Detecitive's brother.

Kelly Quinn is a fun, nosy and intelligent woman. She runs Lucky Cove Resale Boutique. Kelly has been working hard to turn the boutique around and make a profit. When a she visits a fitness guru asks her to consign. Kelly is excited and desperately needs the income. Then she finds her client dead with her old boss standing over the body. This was a fun mystery and I enjoyed it!
