This definitely gave you that Texas feel and while the book was good it wasn’t great. Within the book the you see friction between Cade and Jennifer, understandably so. Cade had thought he would be the one to care for his sister and brother in laws kids when they tricky pass in an accident. To his surprise they are actually left to the husbands sister. It had you guessing and also had a little mystery.

This was an okay cowboy romance. It was a super slow burn and I think it was a bit insta love feeling when it finally happened? or at least his love kind of seemed to appear out of nowhere all of the sudden and was instantly super strong.

I have voluntarily read and reviewed a copy of this title given to me through NetGalley. This book was just absolutely wonderful. It was just so easy to get lost in and I just couldn’t put it down. I just lost myself within this amazing story. I most definitely will read more by this author.

Forever My Cowboy (Garrett Family Saga #2). By June Faver. 2021. Sourcebooks Casablanca (ARC eBook).

Cade Garrett and Jennifer LaChance come together when his sister and her brother die in a plane crash, leaving Jennifer the house and custody of their two children. But the two of them now share ownership of their sibling’s business—running an airstrip. Cade has mixed feelings. He wanted to raise the children, and when it comes to the business, he is a rancher and doesn’t know anything about operating an airstrip. But his hostility toward Jenn wans as she decides to stay with the children instead of taking them to Dallas. As they begin to navigate raising children and trying to sell the business, the two become closer and feelings develop.

Forever My Cowboy will be a good pick for those wanting a slow burn and a bit of intrigue, as it is suspected that the plane crash wasn’t an accident, but rather a murder. Cade and Jenn are sweet together, and I would have preferred more cowboying and having the kids and Jenn out on Cade’s ranch over the underlying murder plot.

This is a voluntary review of an advanced copy.

This was a fun romance with some intrigue thrown in when Jennifer finds that her brother and sister-in-law died in a plane crash and she is now the guardian of their children.

Cade did not like Jennifer at all and was kind of a jerk to start with. He did not want her raising his sister's children and thought he should be the one to raise them.

Not sure what exactly flipped his switch but he went from being a jerk to being a love-sick puppy. I started to really get into the book more when they worked together and get to know each other.

Along with the romance, there is the matter of the cut fuel lines on the plane and who would want to kill Jason LaChance and why. We are kept guessing which of the suspects is the killer until the end and it was a fun read to get there.

After the great loss, Jennifer's life turns upside down. She is all of a sudden caretaker of her brother's children. The path is not easy but with help of the Garret family and Cade, she finds again a place to call home. The story is all about the family and taking care of their own. A sweet story with developed characters and I like it that it was not boring and predictable.

Forever My Cowboy continues the Garrett Family Saga series with a story that will in some ways break your heart for those involved, and then slowly, steadily heal it back enough to allow love to mend those broken spaces.

Cade and Jenn’s lives were turned upside-down when Cade’s sister and Jenn’s brother were killed in a plane crash leaving two very young children orphans. Little Leo at age 3, and tiny Lissy at age 1 would have no obvious idea of what happened to their parents, but their aunt and uncle certainly did. Cade thought he’d be raising the children with all of his family’s support behind him – until Jenn showed up, late for the funeral and according to the will, now has full, sole custody of the little ones. To say that these two got off to a bad start would be the understatement of the year.

First impressions aren’t always the right ones, and soon Cade will realize that behind Jenn’s off-putting personality lies a woman who has lost the last member of her family, is facing the life of a parent with stubbornness, and is deeply grieving her brother’s death in the midst of it all. When it becomes known that the plane didn’t crash from mechanical or pilot error but from a deliberate act now Cade and Jenn need to track down a murderer while keeping the children, and the rest of the Garrett family safe. (Of course, the family doesn’t need any help, and Big Jim is right there with thoughtful words and support when needed.)

While I enjoyed Forever My Cowboy it took me a while to really connect to Jenn. I think her personality is written this way for a purpose, but I was totally on Cade’s side for most of the tension parts of this romance. We’ll get time spent with the large Garrett family, in small doses, throughout this story, watch a slow burn romance between Cade and Jenn, and finally discover who the murderer is. I’ll be keeping an eye out for the next story in the Garrett Family Saga.

I had never read this author before and had never heard of this series either. But I love books where uncles and aunts have to raise children because of a loss of a family member. So I could not resist this book.

The stars are uncle Cade and aunt Jenn. He loses a beloved sister and she loses her beloved brother. In the will Jenn is named as the kids guardian but she also gets their home, part of their business that she shares with the kids uncle Cade.

Cade has been caring for the kids and Jenn agrees to stay in town so he can still be a big part of their lives and he and Jenn have to figure out what to do with the business. As their grief settles down they start to see each other in a new light and a romance developes.

But the death of their siblings was not an accident but rather murder and so the stry heats up romantically and also with this danger.

I really loved this story. The first part of the book is extremely sad and tragic and my heart broke for both families but then I started adoring this story and I could not put it down.

I received a free ARC copy of this book from NETGALLERY prior to release and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Forever My Cowboy is the second book in the Garrett Family Saga by June Faver. The story follows Jennifer LaChance and Cade Garrett. Jennifer’s brother and Cade’s sister unexpectedly die in a plane crash and Jennifer is named guardian of her brother’s children.

At first, Cade and Jennifer are wary of each other and having to rely on the other person. Eventually, chemistry and life intercede and Jennifer and Cade connect in more ways than they initially thought. With an unseen foe determined to own what was once her brother’s airstrip, Jennifer and Cade must work together to overcome the evil and live happily ever after.

I really liked the story line and wanted Cade and Jennifer to be together for themselves and their siblings’ children. I’m ready for the next book.

Forever My Cowboy by June Haver is a mystery as well as a lovely romance. Jason LaChance and his wife, Sara, had crashed in Palo Duro Canyon and were killed. They owned the local airstrip; a vital part of the community and Jason was an excellent pilot. How had this happened? Sara's cousin, Cade Garrett, was heartbroken but his first thoughts were of his sister, Sara's babies: Leo, three, and Lissy, just under one. He went and found them with Child Services in Amarillo, and brought them home, faced with the terrifying future of being a single dad, but ready to do it, for Sara. At the same time, Jason's sister, Jennifer is on her way. She can barely think. She found a B&B and a friend, Ollie Sue Enloe, when she arrived in Langston. Just long enough to arrange a funeral and pack the children up and take them home to Dallas, to the home she and Jason had grown up in. She was beside herself. In fact, she nearly missed the funeral and was farm from her best when she did make it. Cade thought she was a flake. But then, the will was read: she and Cade shared the airstrip but custody of the children and the small house Jason and Sara had called home was left to Jennifer.

As soon as Cade recognized that Jennifer was not a flake, his attraction to her grew. It was fun to watch. It was fun to watch Jennifer adjust to being the mom. She finally had to tell Leo where his parents were: he asked. She handled it well. This is a wonderful, if not expected love story. Cade giving up his life as a grumpy bachelor and Jennifer giving up her dreams of being an artist, well, at least postponing. The Garrett family, led by Big Jim, is always fun to be part of and not less in this novel. They all take care of each other, even stepmoms. I loved it. I loved Cade and I loved Jennifer. Good read. I recommend it.

This is the first book I've read in this series. I liked the story but didn't really like Jenn. There also didn't seem to be a real connection between her and Cade. The Garrett family was great. Who wouldn't want to be part of a large loving family.

This is a sweet story, but felt very formulaic. I feel like I’ve ready several stories in which a young couple dies, leaving behind their young children to be raised by an aunt and uncle who fall in love... Unfortunately, I never felt that there was any real connection between Jennifer and and Cade. I’ve read several of the other books in the series, but I’m sorry to say that I found this one a bit of a disappointment.

Forever My Cowboy (Garrett Family Saga Book 2) by June Faver is a realistic look at grief, anger, recovery and moving forward. Finding love along the way is an added bonus, a startling one in this case. Not at all a romance in the beginning but a story of overwhelming grief which manifest itself differently in the characters.

Cade was the easiest to identify with since I understood his anger. His inability to not judge quickly, which may have not happened in another time or different circumstances felt real. On the other hand, Jennifer LaChance’s character was harder for me find connection. Her reactions early were on were self-absorbed as well as seeming to be a professional student. She is one who never quite grew up or had to stand on her own. With two little ones that was about to change. The author does a great job showing her growth in becoming a full fledge adult.

Besides the intense emotional rawness of the loss, the slow burn romance there is a dangerous mystery that cranked up the intensity of the story. With the Garrett family standing behind Cade and Jennifer the truth was sure to be discovered. Then there is a subplot happening in the family at the same time. Big Jim is always ready with a welcoming hand and wise advice.

An ARC of the book was provided by the publisher through NetGalley which I voluntarily chose to read and reviewed. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Forever My Cowboy is a heartwarming story with endearing characters. This emotional read will pull you in and keep you turning the pages until the end. It is a story of love, loss and possibilities in this captivating read. I loved catching up with some of the characters from previous books. I can't wait to read the next book.

Forever My Cowboy by June Favor is book two in the Garret Family series. I enjoyed the book, storyline and the characters. This is Jennifer and Cade’s story. Their attraction heated up and I enjoyed their chemistry. It was an emotional and heartfelt story as both Jennifer and Cade lost their siblings in a plane crash that left two small children behind. Jennifer and Cade decided to work together and co-parent the children. There was also a bit of mystery as the plane crash turned into a murder investigation. I enjoyed the story but wish it was a little bit shorter and condensed as my focus started to wander a bit.
Thanks NetGalley for my advanced copy of this book for my honest opinion.

3.5 stars

I have good news and bad news about this book. The good news is I think this book is better than the first book in the series, "The Best Cowboy Christmas Ever". I had rated the first book 2 stars, so this one earning 3.5 stars is MUCH better. The bad news is that I still don't rate this book as great. It's a book that I tend to forget the details once I've finished the book. Many sentences seem choppy and extra details are included in the book which really doesn't seem to add anything to the story. I believe this story could be told in a much shorter book. However, if you are looking for an easy, quick read of a cute story, then this just might be your lucky day.

This story starts off with the aftermath of a young couple dying in a plane crash leaving two young children behind. The husband's younger sister lives in Dallas after earning her masters degree in fine arts (which happens to be spelled out in this book exactly a gazillion times). The wife's older brother lives in the same ranching community as the couple who perished. The brother assumes he will take over raising the children, but the husband's sister is actually named the guardian in the will. Needless to say, the brother is offended by this and finds everything about the sister unpalatable. Read between the lines and you can see a romance brewing. Throw in a little mystery to solve and this book has potential. However, I feel like the mystery was solved totally by accident at the end of the book - what the heck kind of a police force does this town have if they couldn't solve the crime before then?

I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review. The opinions stated above are mine without biases.

Forever my Cowboy is the second book in June Faver’s Garret Family Saga and while this was a much better story than book one, I found myself a little unsettled while reading. The story had everything I would usually want, with engaging characters, family values, and an emotionally charged storyline; so, what was my problem? I guess the pace was what bothered me most. It’s hard to stay focused when a 350-page book drags on until the last few chapters. Overall, a good story, but it could have been wrapped up in far less pages.

Thanks go to the publisher and Net-Galley for the complimentary copy of Forever my Cowboy by June Faver. I voluntarily agreed to read and review this book prior to publication. My opinions are my own, and no one has influenced them.

Forever my Cowboy is an emotionally charged romance with engaging characters and a great plot. The pacing is excellent and kept me enmeshed from the first page to the last. Ms. Faver adds an authentic feel of Texas ranching, and that helped pull me into the story. The adorable little ones contributed as well.

Jennifer LaChance’s character took a little time to pull me in because she isn’t immediately lovable in the beginning, but Ms. Faver redeems her and had me rooting for her well before the end of the tale. At first, she came across as lacking empathy since she didn’t take into account the hero’s grief. However, her desire to do right by her late brother’s children is admirable and had me warming to her character.

Cade Garrett is an interesting hero. At first, he makes a snap judgment regarding Jennifer, but he soon realizes his mistake. I enjoyed his character and quickly wanted him to get the girl, and his adorable niece and nephew. He’s not an alpha male which is what is normally found in this genre, and it was a refreshing change, giving the story a touch of difference.

The romance between Jennifer and Cade takes some time to heat up, since the plot places them on opposite sides regarding the children. The couple do have a good bit of chemistry as the story progresses, and I wanted them to find their happy ending.

If you enjoy western contemporary romance with characters that will touch your heart and a plot that offers more than just a love story, then you will love Forever my Cowboy. There are several suspenseful scenes that I enjoyed a lot. The whodunit it quality is excellent, and I wasn’t sure who the culprit is until close to the climax. Happy reading!

Falling in love at the same time as raising Leo and Lissy!

Bachelor Cade Garrett stepped up to raise his nephew and niece when their parents were killed in a plane crash, but he has a hard time letting go when their aunt was named their guardian instead of him.

Forever My Cowboy has a romance between Cade and Jennifer after they come to terms with the plane crash and a mystery trying to solve who cut the fuel line when they find out it wasn’t an accident but murder. But I especially liked catching up with the lives of the Garrett family members as they try to help Cade and Jennifer with raising Leo and Lissy.
